Chapter 270: Chapter 0226: The Bug that Hit Hu Niu Chapter 270: Chapter 0226: The Bug that Hit Hu Niu Chapter 0226: The Insect That Sent Hu Niu Flying

The timeline given by Taichang Temple to summon Qi Tian was very tight. After everyone discussed and generated a shopping list, Qi Tian gave everyone a half-day off to handle their personal matters while he went shopping.

Shopping inside Imperial Master Mansion requires disciple points for most items. Previously, Qi Tian wasn’t capable of accumulating such points, but he had just contributed hundreds of spirit stones to the Imperial Master Mansion. The Mansion had then deposited a considerable number of points into his Disciple Card, enabling him to buy what he needed without worrying about insufficient points.

Once the supplies were bought, apart from a small portion that Qi Tian entrusted Zhang Lei to supervise, the rest were transferred into his Storage Ring. He felt obligated to protect what he bought, and Qi Tian had enough reasons to believe that since Zhang Lei and others decided to join him to Tongguan Left Guard Station, they must have their preparations. Their supplies wouldn’t be inadequate even if he didn’t distribute his purchases right away.

After completing all purchases, about half a day had passed. Qi Tian returned to his lodging in Sky Eagle Hall, leaving a message for Guan Xun to wait for his return.

With everything in place, Qi Tian then reached the agreed meeting point – the entrance of Sky Eagle Hall, quietly waiting for Zhang Lei and others to arrive.

Luo Xia was already waiting outside the hall. He stood next to Qi Tian, incessantly briefing him on certain matters. Having been called to the border before, he shared his experiences with Qi Tian, hoping he could avoid unnecessary detours.

“Qi Tian, before others arrive, let me, as your senior brother, remind you one last time. Should you be in a desperate situation, never act on impulse. Preserve yourself as a priority. Your life is more valuable than all of them combined.” Luo Xia lowered his voice towards the end, fearing others might overhear.

“I understand, Hall Master, I will handle things appropriately and not gamble with my life.”

During their conversation, Zhang Lei, Pan Yulin, Zhang Guangyao, and Jiang Pan returned one after another.

Luo Xia had someone bring out a jug of Spiritual Wine, and after breaking the seal, poured each person, including himself, a cup. Raising his wine bowl, he proposed a toast, “On behalf of Sky Eagle Hall and myself, I wish you all a smooth journey.”

Shortly after, Qi Tian and the others, each riding their mounts, left the Imperial Master Mansion, and continued along the main street of Zhangshui City towards the northern gate.

As Zhangshui City harbored Imperial Master Mansion, it was frequently visited by cultivators. Consequently, despite Qi Tian leading the team on Hu Niu appearing formidable, the citizens were not frightened. Many just stepped aside, standing along the road, pointing towards Qi Tian’s group while fervently discussing among themselves.

Upon reaching the North Gate, Zhao Qian emerged from a teahouse outside the gate. Sensing her arrival, Zhang Lei and others tactfully moved aside. Qi Tian dismounted Hu Niu, “Princess, why are you here?”

Zhao Qian replied apologetically, “I still vividly remember the days when we faced the Lianying Realm together. Qi Tian, honestly, I wish I could abandon everything at King Zhangbei Manor and join you again. But I can’t, I’m sorry.” As she apologized, she took a step back and bowed deeply. She felt tremendously guilty towards Qi Tian for her lack of payback compared to the great help he provided, both during their venture into Lianying Realm and when he suppressed the arrogant Zhang Xiankun, the Crown Prince of Marquis Jingguo Manor. Her debt increased when he gifted her the materials to make a Foundation Establishment pill. If it weren’t for her elder brother Zhao Putian’s insecure Crown Prince position, she would drop everything and rush to the border with Qi Tian.

Qi Tian smiled, “Princess, I never blamed you. Don’t carry the burden of owing me. This time we may not fight together, but that doesn’t rule out future possibilities. Who knows? We might get to fight side-by-side at the frontier again a month later. Now, I must get going. Farewell, Princess.”

Qi Tian hopped on to Hu Niu’s back, waved at the princess, then spurred Hu Niu forward. Zhang Lei and the others quickly followed suit.

The journey proceeded in silence. Seven to eight days quickly went by, with the group travelling during the day and finding places to rest at night. Initially, they could find inns, but as they went towards the northwestern direction, towns and cities became sparse. Sometimes, after a day’s travel, they couldn’t even find a suitable lodging place.

Fortunately, none of them were ones to shy away from hardships. In the absence of appropriate accommodation, they chose to camp out in the open.
