Chapter 170: Chapter 0175 Is This Reason Enough_2 Chapter 170: Chapter 0175 Is This Reason Enough_2 “Hu Niu, let’s team up against him.” Qi Tian pointed at Hu Qifan.
Hu Niu had collaborated with Qi Tian many times before. Intelligent and quick, she leapt towards Hu Qifan.
Hu Qifan was startled. He had been prepared for various scenarios, but never saw coming the idea of Qi Tian using a tiger. Before Hu Niu could pounce, he could feel a strong aura of menace emanating from her. This was no ordinary tiger, but a powerful demon beast, causing Hu Qifan’s expression to become solemn. Under normal circumstances, he wouldn’t fear a Golden Fur Tiger, but now, it was an adversary he could not underestimate.
In a swift moment, Hu Niu reached Hu Qifan, opening her big bloody mouth to bite him.
Hu Qifan shook his Three-Foot Flying Frost Sword, creating several sword blossoms and slashed them towards Hu Niu.
While Hu Niu was engaging Hu Qifan, Qi Tian had already maneuvered himself behind Hu Qifan.
“Uncle, be careful!” Liu Haoshuai, realizing the impending danger, shouted from the stage below.
Hu Qifan turned his head to confirm Qi Tian’s location, but at this moment, Hu Niu seized the opportunity to speed up and pounce on him. Hu Qifan quickly repositioned himself and thrust his Three-Foot Flying Frost Sword towards her.
The Three-Foot Flying Frost Sword pierced Hu Niu’s body. Her body contracted drastically and her muscles tensed, using the strength of her bones and muscles to firmly encase the sword within her body.
Hu Qifan was shocked and attempted to withdraw his sword, but Hu Niu wouldn’t give him the opportunity. She swiped her claws at the hand Hu Qifan used to grip the sword.
Hu Niu was immensely strong, approaching the strength of Hu Qifan who was at the Half-step Foundation Establishment stage. If her claw struck him, there was a high possibility that it would break his bones and tendons.
Hu Qifan’s face changed, dropping his sword and retreating backwards.
But at that moment, Qi Tian had already charged forward and launched his Eight Desolate Demon Tiger Fist.
With the Jifeng Boxing Glove on Qi Tian’s hand and the Heavenly Dao Engine activated in double power mode, Qi Tian, after some calculations, delivered a punch with a force of 10,000 pounds.
A loud boom echoed as the punch landed solidly on Hu Qifan.
Hu Qifan was garbed in the attire of a second-class executive of the Sky Eagle Hall. This cloth armor could offset a force of 3,000 pounds. In addition, he wore a top-grade, Heavenly Grade Spirit Military inner armor, capable of offsetting a force of 6,000 pounds – a quite impressive feat. Many cultivators at the Nine Levels of Qi Cultivation stage could not deliver a punch with such strength. Even with the protection provided by the executive robe of Sky Eagle Hall, Hu Qifan could remain invincible merely due to the inner armor.
This was why he didn’t regard Qi Tian, who was sneaking behind him, as a serious threat. But now he realized his grave mistake. He felt as if he had been hit by a rampaging bull and was sent flying before crashing heavily onto the ground. He lay there disoriented and in agony, uncertain of how many bones he had broken.
“Uncle!” Liu Haoshuai, horrified, wanted to rush towards the stage.
Qi Tian said calmly, “This is a duel to the death. Anyone who steps on the stage is subject to death.”
Liu Haoshuai stood frozen on the spot, shocked as if struck by lightning. Seeing that Liu Haoshuai was immobile, he incited Wang Mingming, “Wang, go up the stage and check on my uncle. You don’t have any grievances with Qi Tian. He won’t dare to kill you.”
Wang Mingming was infuriated. Qi Tian’s words were very clear, this was showdown of life and death – a place free of manor rules. If he went on the stage and Qi Tian killed him, who would stand up for him? Was he supposed to entrust his life to that good-for-nothing young master, Liu Haoshuai?
“Haoshuai, I just remembered that I have something to do. I’ll take my leave first.” Wang Mingming completely gave up on the notion of continuing to back Liu Haoshuai and Hu Qifan, and turned to leave without a second glance.
Liu Haoshuai looked over at the other disciples from Sky Eagle Hall that he’d come with. These people either kept their heads down, silent as stones, or made like Wang Mingming and hastily departed on some thin pretense.
For a moment, Liu Haoshuai found himself completely alone.
Qi Tian walked over to Hu Niu, plucked the Three-Foot Flying Frost Sword impaled in her, and inspected her wound. Luckily, she hadn’t sustained a fatal injury and would be alright after some rest. He held Hu Niu in his arms with a mixture of hurt and rebuke, then poked her hard on her big head. After feeding her some medicine and applying an ointment, he then pulled her back into the Spirit Beast Bracelet.
Next, Qi Tian gripped the Three-Foot Flying Frost Sword in his hand. Hu Niu’s blood dripped down its blade. With a cold expression on his face, he walked towards Hu Qifan, who lay motionless on the ground.
“Qi Tian, stop it, I order you to stop right now!” Liu Haoshuai yelled with all his might from below the stage.
Qi Tian turned his head, looked at Liu Haoshuai, and his gaze was sharp as knifes, penetrating straight to the heart. “Make another sound and I will slaughter you too.”
Qi Tian’s look was so terrifying that Liu Haoshuai’s mind went blank. He had no doubt that Qi Tian would actually kill him.
Ignoring Liu Haoshuai, Qi Tian thought he as a spoiled brat. It would be alright as long as he behaves himself in the future, but if he continues to stir up trouble, Qi Tian wouldn’t mind sending him to pay a visit to Yama. He walked up to Hu Qifan with Three-Foot Flying Frost Sword in his hand, initially concerned that injured Hu Qifan might launch a sneak attack. But to his surprise, upon reaching him, Qi Tian found Hu Qifan critically injured, his breathing faint.
With a foot pressing down on Hu Qifan’s back, Qi Tian raised the Three-Foot Flying Frost Sword and swung it towards Hu Qifan’s neck.
Suddenly, a voice from afar called out, “Qi Tian, spare his life!”
Just as the Three-Foot Flying Frost Sword was inches away from Hu Qifan’s neck, Qi Tian halted his sword mid-air.
Qi Tian glanced down. He wanted to see who had come. He quickly noticed Luo Xia hastily rushing over.
Withdrawing his foot from Hu Qifan’s back and taking several strides towards Luo Xia, Qi Tian greeted him, “Master.”
In the meantime, Luo Xia had already arrived at the Duel of Life and Death. He leapt onto the stage and said, “Qi Tian, Hu Qifan can’t die. You cannot kill him.”
“Can I know the reason?” Qi Tian asked.
Luo Xia replied, “Reason? What reason can there be? It is forbidden to kill one’s own sect member. Is that reason enough?”
Qi Tian looked at Luo Xia then stepped back, “Master, I can spare Hu Qifan. But we signed a death duel contract. If I spare him, does he not owe me his life?”
“Fair enough. But, I’m not getting involved in this. Resolve it amongst yourselves. Just remember, you’re not allowed to kill Hu Qifan; cultivating a Foundation Establishment Stage disciple is no easy task for Imperial Master Mansion.” After instructing Qi Tian, Luo Xia jumped down from the stage and left without another word. He seemed unconcerned with Hu Qifan’s fate, but it was clear he was confident that Qi Tian wouldn’t dare ignore his request. As the Master of Sky Eagle Hall, he had that authority.
Watching Luo Xia walk away, a curious glint shone in Qi Tian’s eyes. Luo Xia’s behavior was strange. Was he genuinely concerned about Hu Qifan or just concerned about his survival? Moreover, what exactly does Hu Qifan possess that Luo Xia would go to such lengths – ballsy enough to break the rules of the Duel of Life and Death platform, and forcefully change the outcome of his death duel with Hu Qifan?
