Chapter 1627: Chapter 0960 Couldn’t Help But Give a Like Chapter 1627: Chapter 0960 Couldn’t Help But Give a Like Chapter 0960: Couldn’t Help but Give a Thumbs Up
Strictly speaking, the combat power of a single Tiger Baby Bee was nothing special, and even when they gathered in numbers reaching hundreds or thousands, they still posed no real threat to Gao Yuqiu and the others. The problem was, the location where they confronted the Tiger Baby Bees was too close to the Infant Fruit Tree, making them feel like elephants in a china shop—whatever they did, they were extremely cautious, fearing that they might affect that precious Infant Fruit.
Ever since Gao Yuqiu embarked on the path of cultivation, she had never felt as frustrated as she did today. Her cultivation technique didn’t greatly enhance her combat ability. Her charm skills were formidable, but they had no effect on the Tiger Baby Bees.
Gao Yuqiu was starting to falter; unless she was willing to use some of her trump cards, she was likely to end up in a very embarrassing situation. She gritted her teeth, preparing to ask Qi Tian for help, as he seemed to be the only one who could assist her at this moment.
However, just then, a burst of bright light shot up from where Xiu Zhengyu was overwhelmed by Tiger Baby Bees. The bees on Xiu Zhengyu were sent flying, revealing his disheveled figure.
Skin exposed, including his head, was all swollen from the stings of the Tiger Baby Bees. His eyes were so swollen that they were nearly shut, barely leaving a slit.
Xiu Zhengyu raised his right hand where two carrot-like swollen fingers pressed together as a ferocious light emerged from the narrow slit of his eyes.
Xiu Zhengyu formed a Spirit Rune with his hands; three or four flying swords came out from behind him and, under his control, started slaughtering the surrounding Tiger Baby Bees.
Although the Tiger Baby Bees had tough hides, they were no match for the lethal power of the flying swords, and soon, dozens of them were slain by Xiu Zhengyu.
Xiu Zhengyu ruthlessly said, “Damn it, I didn’t want to make a big deal out of you little bugs, forcing me to use my trump cards. Don’t blame me for not being reasonable.”
Xiu Zhengyu once again performed the swordplay technique, and several more flying swords emerged from his back. Together with the previous swords, they formed a sword formation in the air, crisscrossing and striking at every Tiger Baby Bee they could see.
Xiu Zhengyu was very skilled at this sword technique, but perhaps because of the venom from the bee stings or because he wasn’t very proficient in some finer points of the sword technique, the flying swords, while crisscrossing through the enemies in the air, dangerously rushed toward the treetop of the Infant Fruit Tree several times, nearly slicing the Infant Fruit in half.
If the Infant Fruit Tree were damaged, its medicinal effectiveness would rapidly decrease. Swallowing it then would greatly reduce the success rate, which terrified Gao Yuqiu and the others.
Gao Yuqiu quickly shouted, “Mrs. Zhengyu, please be careful not to destroy our chance at getting the big prize.”
Xiu Zhengyu himself was also scared and shivered a few times. His position was still not far from the Infant Fruit Tree, and controlling seven or eight flying swords to chase the erratically moving Tiger Baby Bees was proving overly difficult for him. This was why he hadn’t used the sword technique initially, but he found that not using it was no longer an option—otherwise, the Tiger Baby Bees would continue to torment him, either poisoning or biting him to death. It was out of desperation that he resorted to using the sword technique.
Once deployed, retracting the technique was challenging. On one hand, using the sword technique to kill the Tiger Baby Bees felt exhilarating; on the other hand, compared to the bees that were killed, there were even more alive. If he stopped using the sword technique, the Tiger Baby Bees would swarm him again as before, and he would have to endure their torture.
Gao Yuqiu saw Xiu Zhengyu’s dilemma and after a slight hesitation, she issued orders for everyone to advance forward, reducing their precautions and adopting any method that could harm the Tiger Baby Bees. But everyone had to be very careful, particularly to ensure that the sole remaining Infant Fruit wasn’t damaged.
Upon hearing this, all the team members put aside their extreme caution and started to use their own best techniques. They changed their initial strategy of defensively confronting the Tiger Baby Bees into an offensive push forward. The Tiger Baby Bees’ strength was indeed far inferior to that of Qi Tian and his team. When Qi Tian and his teammates changed their method of advancing, the Tiger Baby Bees started to be massively killed. Even though swarms of Tiger Baby Bees rushed out of their hive, they could not stop Qi Tian and the others from approaching the Infant Fruit Tree.
However, in this process, several risky incidents happened. Each time, it was because a team member, in the process of killing the Tiger Baby Bees, encountered a slight mishap which allowed their killing moves, after slaughtering the Tiger Baby Bees, to still have remaining force and mistakenly strike something else. If they struck something else, it was manageable, but several incidents impacted the Infant Fruit Tree. The most perilous incident occurred when a Bee slain by Xiu Zhengyu flew towards the Infant Fruit, barely missing it with the corpse of the Tiger Baby Bee almost striking the fruit.
Seeing this scene, everyone’s heart lifted. The skin of the Infant Fruit was fragile; if the Tiger Baby Bee had collided with it, damaging the fruit was highly probable, and the blood and flesh of the Bee would further contaminate the quality of the Infant Fruit, causing its quality to deteriorate even more.
