Chapter 1375: Chapter 0782: There Will Be No Shortage of Benefits Chapter 1375: Chapter 0782: There Will Be No Shortage of Benefits Chapter 0782: Benefits Abound
After Emperor Tian Rui sought his help, the Second Prince took a very serious look at the history of the Great Zhao Nation. He discovered that except for a very few emperors who had not been able to cultivate to the Gold Core Realm and had therefore not entered the Imperial Family Secret Territory, all the other emperors abdicated their throne after reaching the Gold Core Stage and then entered the Imperial Family Secret Territory, never to appear in the Great Zhao Nation again.
The Second Prince did not know if there was any secret hidden in this practice. Having traveled extensively outside of the palace, he understood that some things must be adhered to and should not be broken lightly. If the Grand Ancestor Emperor had set a bloodline curse for his descendants, then the consequences would be grave indeed if they went against the Grand Ancestor Emperor’s will and stubbornly refused to enter the Imperial Family Secret Territory.
The Second Prince did not immediately agree to Emperor Tian Rui’s request. Instead, he advised Emperor Tian Rui to look for an opportunity to secretly enter the Imperial Family Secret Territory and conduct an investigation before deciding on the next steps after gaining a thorough understanding.
Emperor Tian Rui accepted the Second Prince’s suggestion and began investigating the Imperial Family Secret Territory. The investigation indeed turned up quite a bit of information, with the most important discovery being that there were opportunities within the Imperial Family Secret Territory to break through to the Nascent Soul Stage. If such an opportunity were found, one could potentially advance further from the foundation of the Gold Core Stage and become a Nascent Soul Master, in which case the benefits would be unimaginable.
Originally, Emperor Tian Rui had hoped to sit on the throne of the Great Zhao Nation for a long time, but when he learned that he might break through to the Nascent Soul Stage after entering the Imperial Family Secret Territory, he immediately changed his mind. Being the emperor of the Great Zhao Nation was nothing compared to the exhilaration of becoming a Nascent Soul Master — one would possess a significantly extended lifespan and greatly increased power. If he wished, he could even start from scratch and establish a new Great Zhao Nation.
However, to enter the Imperial Family Secret Territory, Emperor Tian Rui was faced with a very practical problem: as a newcomer, a previously abdicated emperor just entering the Imperial Family Secret Territory, he would have no advantage whatsoever. He would face severe competition; it was almost predictable that entering there would lead to death, and if not death, he would be bullied beyond recognition by the other Princes.
Of course, Emperor Tian Rui could rely on the Second Prince, but he did not want to do so. He was an emperor of great authority, and the Second Prince was his son. Since when does an emperor rely on his son as a support?
Emperor Tian Rui hoped that the Second Prince could help him advance further, not to mention the other aspects, at least to quickly ascend from the First Level of the Gold Core Realm to the Gold Core Realm Second Level.
The Second Prince proposed a scheme to Emperor Tian Rui, a rather sinister scheme he had inadvertently acquired during his travels. The method was simple: it involved gathering the power of several cultivators at the First Level of the Gold Core Realm and merging it into one person. To put it plainly, it meant sacrificing multiple Gold Core cultivators to enable Emperor Tian Rui to advance further, possibly allowing him to shoot up to success.
Emperor Tian Rui agreed without hesitation. Despite being the emperor of the Great Zhao Nation, he had always been restrained by the Three Great National Master Manors. Even after he later allied with the other two National Master Manors to target the Imperial Master Mansion, it only slightly relieved the pressure but did not eliminate it completely. This made his reign as emperor quite unsatisfactory. On the surface, he targeted only Xiao Xiaowu, the Master of the Imperial Master Mansion, but in reality, he held grudges against all three Masters of the National Master Manors and had long wished to find an opportunity to kill them — he just never found the right moment.
Now that the Second Prince had proposed such a plan, which not only provided a way to eliminate the three Great National Masters, who Emperor Tian Rui regarded as a significant threat, but also an elevation of his cultivation level, how could Emperor Tian Rui possibly refuse? Even if the method was malicious, what did it matter? As the emperor of the Great Zhao Nation, he had already committed evil deeds, not just once or twice, but previously it was directed toward his citizens; now, it was only a matter of targeting his National Masters.
With a target and a plan in place, what followed became simple. Emperor Tian Rui lured the Masters of the Three Great National Master Manors by offering to share the cultivation resources within the Imperial Family Secret Territory, successfully persuading them to agree to follow him into the Imperial Family Secret Territory.
Qi Tian essentially knew what happened next. Emperor Tian Rui and others first stayed in North Capital for a while after entering the Imperial Family Secret Territory. Emperor Tian Rui found life in North Capital to be full of constraints and that many eyes were watching them, presenting no opportunity to act. Thus, he led his group to Southern City, where he built a casual city and settled most of the people there. Then he left with the Masters of the Three Great National Master Manors. Before he departed, he ordered the Second Prince to continue staying in Southern City, ostensibly for the Second Prince to ensure its safety, but in reality, Emperor Tian Rui did not trust his capable son and even worried that his son might make a move against him, seizing the cultivations of himself and the Three Great National Master Manors for his own advancement to the Nascent Soul Stage.
That was how things went. Under Qi Tian’s intimidation and not wishing to be soul searched, the Second Prince confessed everything graciously. After he finished speaking, he looked at Qi Tian with eager eyes and said, “I’ve told you everything I could, and things I shouldn’t have. Qi Tian, I hope you can be merciful and not continue to harm me. If you give me a chance, I am willing to pledge my loyalty to you and serve you.”
