Chapter 1299: Chapter 0744: Turning the Tables Chapter 1299: Chapter 0744: Turning the Tables Chapter 0744: Turning the Tables
Qi Tian had not feared Manager Chen even before his defeat, let alone now. He directly commanded a Transporting Whirlwind to carry a bottle of Millennium Corpse Water atop Manager Chen’s skull and then warned him in an ice-cold tone. If Manager Chen’s skull continued to create such a fuss, he would pour the Millennium Corpse Water over it, letting the skull be dissolved away by the liquid. If Manager Chen’s skull did not believe him, it was welcome to test his resolve.
Having suffered at the hands of the Millennium Corpse Water multiple times, Manager Chen’s dread of it ran deep in his bones. He did not doubt Qi Tian’s words for a second. If Qi Tian truly poured the Millennium Corpse Water, then he would be finished once and for all, without a single chance to turn things around. For the slim hope of escape, Manager Chen wisely chose to endure. Of course, the real reason for his decision was that although the Storage Ring contained many of his secrets, none pertained to life and death, or detailed how to genuinely kill him. He knew the method, but had not recorded it in the Storage Ring.
After Manager Chen had calmed down, Qi Tian began to inspect the Storage Ring. When he probed the ring with his Divine Sense, he was astounded by the sight within.
The internal space of the ring was vast enough to fit half of Jianwu Palace without any issue. Now, such an enormous space was almost completely filled with objects, various boxes, natural treasures, as far as the eye could see, dazzling and overwhelming.
Qi Tian casually opened a few of the boxes and discovered that they contained either high-quality spirit stones, medicinal pills, or other precious cultivation resources.
What made Qi Tian slightly uncomfortable was that about half of the cultivation resources in this Storage Ring were tainted with an evil aura, unsuitable for cultivators. However, the remaining third were free of such issues, and even this portion alone was incredibly precious and priceless.
Qi Tian was not in need of crystals or medicinal pills as cultivation resources. He rummaged through the Storage Ring, looking to see if there were any cultivation manuals. He was mainly interested in finding two types of materials: one was any information about the Saint’s Tomb, especially the one beneath his feet. If there was an introduction to the entire core area, it would be even better. On the other hand, Qi Tian wanted to find more information related to undead creatures to see if there were effective methods to control them. Even if not, being able to completely kill the undead would be excellent as well.
After a thorough search, Qi Tian found the information he was looking for inside a stack of boxes, which included introductions to the Saint’s Tomb, particularly the one under his feet, complete with a full set of design and manufacturing diagrams. With these, the Saint’s Tomb held no secrets for Qi Tian, allowing him to effortlessly excavate all the treasures within the tomb.
Besides that, among the materials, Qi Tian found some information related to undead creatures, including how a cultivator could turn into an undead, their methods of seizing other cultivators’ bodies for possession and integration, and even their daily cultivation methods. Sadly, among all this information, Qi Tian did not find the methods for killing or subduing undead creatures that concerned him the most.
In response, Qi Tian was quite helpless and had no other choice but to hope he could find a way to completely kill Manager Chen later on. Until then, he would have to confine Manager Chen.
Qi Tian had originally planned to throw Manager Chen into the Heavenly Dao Engine, transforming him into fuel for the engine. However, now that he had obtained Manager Chen’s Storage Ring and was about to secure all the treasure from the Saint’s Tomb beneath his feet, he felt it necessary to reconsider his initial plan. Especially since it was an entirely unknown issue whether undead creatures could be converted to fuel for the Heavenly Dao Engine without affecting it. Until he could ascertain its safety, it seemed unnecessary to rush this decision. This was particularly true since he was not lacking in cultivation resources and nor was the Heavenly Dao Engine short on fuel; thus, this matter could be postponed.
Qi Tian found an empty Spirit Beast Pouch and layered confinement spells on Manager Chen’s skull before tossing it into the pouch. He didn’t overlook Manager Chen’s scattered skeletal remains either, collecting every piece into the Spirit Beast Pouch. After completing these actions, Qi Tian still felt uneasy and added layer upon layer of protective enchantments on the pouch to prevent Manager Chen from breaking free one day.
Qi Tian stored the Spirit Beast Pouch and took a long breath of relief. For some time, Manager Chen had been a heavy stone weighing on his heart. Now, that stone had finally dropped to the ground, no longer posing any threat to him. Next, he planned to turn the Saint’s Tomb upside down, excavating all of the tomb’s master’s treasures left behind.
