Chapter 1227: Chapter 709: Almost Didn’t React in Time Chapter 1227: Chapter 709: Almost Didn’t React in Time Chapter 0709 Nearly Failed to React in Time

Ever since entering the Saint’s Tomb’s Inner Underground Palace, Qi Tian had been in a constant state of guard, his heart filled with trepidation. Despite having broken through several walls in succession and gaining quite a bit of loot, which might seem like a resounding success, he had never been truly at ease, worried that the Inner Underground Palace might spring new surprises. His fears weren’t unfounded—as one thing after another within the palace put him to the test, pushing him to his limits. Had he not had some cards up his sleeve, he might well have taken a fall so hard that he’d never be able to stand up again.

With an inspired flash of insight, Qi Tian thought to use the door of the inner tomb as a shield to block the imposing wolf teeth knives, which worked remarkably well. This breakthrough opened up a whole host of strategies for how he could effectively utilize the tomb’s door, providing him with an array of solutions for previously insurmountable problems and kindling within Qi Tian a sense of hope and the possibility to quickly resolve the myriad predicaments posed by the inner tomb.

Qi Tian had never felt as hopeful about the future as he did now, believing that he could harvest tremendous gains within the inner tomb and sweep clean the opportunities it housed.

Full of confidence, Qi Tian lifted his eyes to the wall in front of him, where ripples were still emanating, signaling that more wolf teeth knives could launch out at any moment. If it had been before, he would undoubtedly have been deeply concerned, but now, not only was Qi Tian unafraid, he was actually hoping for more wolf teeth knives to emerge so that he could slow them down with the tomb’s door and collect them one by one to add to his collection.

Although this wish was a good one, for some reason, the ripples on the wall persisted without fading and a third wolf teeth knife failed to appear, which made Qi Tian increasingly impatient—he did not have the luxury to waste time here.

Qi Tian decided to change his strategy. Since the wall wouldn’t strike on its own, he would take the initiative instead.

After giving it some thought, Qi Tian stowed away the inner tomb’s door. It likely had hidden mechanisms or arrays on it, and previously, with no other options in an emergency, he had only used the door to block an attack. But now, all was calm, and he had more alternatives to consider and to calmly think if there was a substitute available.

Qi Tian had already breached several walls, and the first few he had cut down and stored in Heavenly Dao Engine’s material chamber, turning them into part of his trove. Some of these walls, like the tomb’s door, contained mechanisms or arrays that required further study. However, some were just walls with nothing more. Qi Tian promptly chose one such wall, controlled the Transporting Whirlwind to lift it, and then smashed it fiercely against the wall in front of him.

The wall’s material might be unremarkable, but its weight alone was tens of thousands of pounds. Mere contact could have unimaginable consequences.

Just as the two walls were about to collide, several wolf teeth knives burst forth from the ripples, shooting at the approaching wall with a series of thudding impacts.

The formidable might of each knife, with their extraordinary speed and sharp blades, would normally be a great headache for anyone to encounter. But what they now faced was an unfeeling wall.

After the knives hit, as expected, each one punched a hole in the wall. However, the wall did not dodge or feel pain, and even its trajectory was barely affected as it smashed heavily against the wall ahead.

The crash between the two walls produced a thunderous rumble. Qi Tian’s thrown wall shattered to pieces upon collision, and while the condition of the wall it hit was somewhat better, it still suffered significant damage. All the ripples vanished after the collision, leaving a large hole in the wall that revealed a pitch-black cavity, thoroughly exposing the chamber behind it.

With both walls now beyond use, they could no longer pose any threat to Qi Tian, who collected all the launched wolf teeth knives, preventing them from inflicting even the slightest harm on him.

Qi Tian then extracted another jar filled with Spirit Liquid and had Lius’ sand substance enter it for rejuvenation, while he activated the Heavenly Dao Engine’s sensing function and proceeded to explore the newly revealed chamber.

The exploration results were quite favorable—the chamber contained a substantial number of warfare weapons and armors. Among them, Half-step Nascent Soul level artifacts were just the lowest grade and most scarce. Those above the Half-step Nascent Soul level were the most numerous, totaling two to three hundred pieces. Above them were Nascent Soul level artifacts, the second most in quantity, encompassing a wide variety of items likely used by Nascent Soul Masters, amounting to several dozen in total.

However, due to the passage of considerable time, all these artifacts had suffered damage to varying degrees. The lower level artifacts were particularly affected, while those of Nascent Soul level had sustained much less damage.
