Chapter 1224 - 1224 0707 Ghost Face No.3_2
Chapter 1224: Chapter 0707: Ghost Face No.3_2 Chapter 1224: Chapter 0707: Ghost Face No.3_2 The grains of sand that made up the grinding wheel, each one extraordinarily powerful, were mostly present—those that had evolved to the Nascent Soul Stage. Following the command of Coloured Glaze Sand, these grains of sand rapidly disintegrated, preempting Ghost Face’s attempt to devour them. As they exploded like cannonballs, each grain became a shrapnel fragment, carrying immense energy. Inside the mouth of Ghost Face, they shot out in all directions.
Relatively speaking, although Ghost Face was not as powerful as the one on the Outer Tomb Door, it was stronger than those sand grains that had just advanced to the Nascent Soul Stage. However, this “stronger” depended on the perspective. If faced with a direct confrontation, Ghost Face could easily suppress them. But now, having swallowed them into its mouth, Ghost Face’s formidable strength couldn’t reach inside. When the sand grains all exploded, they were like firecrackers stuffed into tofu, blowing Ghost Face to pieces, leaving no part intact.
Qi Tian had been waiting for just such an opportunity. He immediately commanded all the Transporting Whirlwinds to swarm out. Like hungry wolves catching the scent of blood, they scooped up piece after piece of Ghost Face’s remains, dragging and pulling them into the black hole in Qi Tian’s palm. Tossed into the storage room, they were immediately suppressed by the Heavenly Dao Engine.
This time, the Heavenly Dao Engine acted very quickly. Before Ghost Face could regather its scattered fragments, more than half had already been swept away by the Engine.
With such severe losses, Ghost Face’s power naturally plummeted below the Nascent Soul Stage. At this point, the reassembled remains of Ghost Face were meaningless. The Transporting Whirlwinds swarmed up and surrounded the reunited Ghost Face. No matter how it struggled, there was no chance for escape. It was forcefully dragged into the storage room of the Heavenly Dao Engine.
With that, the second Nascent Soul Stage Ghost Face that Qi Tian encountered in the Saint’s Tomb was resolved. The entire process was very brief, clean, and decisive, with no unexpected developments. The outcome was also quite satisfactory.
After the disappearance of Ghost Face, the surging seascape on the wall vanished abruptly, and the wall returned to its calm state as if nothing had happened. When Qi Tian employed the Transporting Whirlwind again to move this wall, it went surprisingly smooth. Qi Tian pulled the wall apart using the Transporting Whirlwind, which was then delivered into the storage room of the Heavenly Dao Engine for safekeeping, in case it was needed in the future.
With the wall gone, the area it had concealed was fully revealed. As Qi Tian had anticipated, there was another secret chamber where numerous natural treasures were stored. Many could be identified as extremely valuable by their appearance alone, each worth a fortune. However, when Qi Tian attempted to touch them, the faintest breeze from his hand blew over these treasures, and most of them crumbled to dust on the spot, disappearing in an instant.
Qi Tian watched this scene unfold but was powerless to intervene. These vanished natural treasures had no fate with Qi Tian; they had been placed here for far too long. The invisible force of time had robbed them of all vitality, and even if they hadn’t turned to dust, they would have lost most of their usefulness to Qi Tian. Obtaining them would be of no assistance to him whatsoever.
Fortunately, these natural treasures covered a wide range of materials, with all sorts of substances present. The plants among the treasures had mostly turned to dust, but the majority of mineral treasures had survived the passage of time.
It is said “mostly” and not “all” because, among those that survived, a significant number had lost much of their spiritual essence due to the long passage of time, significantly reducing their value. When they were first placed here, any one of them could have bought a city, but now, attempting to exchange any for a village would be impossible.
Of course, some natural treasures do not fear the passage of time, their spirituality to this day is still very considerable. They remain immensely precious and valuable, but such natural treasures are very few in number, totaling less than ten items.
Qi Tian waved his hand, and all the Transporting Whirlwinds sprang into action once again, sweeping up everything that could be taken away, leaving nothing behind.
Qi Tian wasn’t in a hurry to deal with the next wall; he had something more important to do, which was to dispose of the Ghost Face and its remnants that he had just taken into the storage room of the Heavenly Dao Engine.
The simplest method was to treat them as fuel for the Heavenly Dao Engine, but Qi Tian chose not to do so. Instead, he decided to deal with them in the same way as the Ghost Face on the Outer Tomb Door, giving those freshly retrieved Ghost Faces and their remnants a chance. If they were willing to submit to Qi Tian, then he could acquire a powerful assistant. Even if he couldn’t get the whole Ghost Face to surrender, he could still try to win over a part of it. By adopting the method used for the Ghost Face on the Outer Tomb Door, allowing the willing remnants to recombine, he should be able to obtain an existence below the Nascent Soul Stage, which for Qi Tian at the moment, would be a significant boost.
Drawing from the method used to subjugate the Ghost Face on the Outer Tomb Door, Qi Tian began a series of trials with the new Ghost Face.
After some efforts, Qi Tian once again obtained a servant with a cultivation level just below the Nascent Soul Stage – a new Ghost Face, which he named Ghost Face No.2. The first Ghost Face that he had subdued now had an official name, Ghost Face No.1.
As for those remnants of the Ghost Face that refused to surrender, Qi Tian honestly and unceremoniously converted them all into fuel for the Heavenly Dao Engine. Qi Tian wasn’t in the mood to deal with these Ghost Face remnants.
After finishing all this, Qi Tian finally turned to the next wall, using the same method. This wall, like the previous one, concealed a Ghost Face, which Qi Tian eliminated in the same way, thus giving rise to Ghost Face No.3 in his hands.
From Ghost Face No.1 to Ghost Face No.3, each of their cultivation levels was almost the same, all below the Nascent Soul Stage. If they could fuse with each other, they would certainly be able to exhibit the strength of the Nascent Soul Stage. Qi Tian would never allow this to happen, though, as if they fused successfully and advanced to the Nascent Soul Stage, it would not be so easy for Qi Tian to control them. At this stage, Qi Tian did not wish for this to happen under any circumstances.
Although the strength of the three Ghost Faces was slightly inferior, they could still provide Qi Tian with quite a lot of assistance. Qi Tian didn’t leave them idling in the storeroom of the Heavenly Dao Engine, instead, he summoned them all out, surrounding him, ready to await new orders from Qi Tian at any moment.
