Chapter 1209: Chapter 700 Collective Coma Chapter 1209: Chapter 700 Collective Coma Chapter 0700: Collective Unconsciousness

Trapping the black heart was only the first step. If Qi Tian wanted to make it his own, there was an inevitable step he had to take: he must subjugate the black heart and make it willingly submit to him.

Even if he couldn’t achieve that, Qi Tian would need to employ some method to firmly control the black heart. He could not allow it to slip beyond his control, for if he did, employing the black heart for his purposes in the future would be practically impossible.

However, Qi Tian was clueless about how to subdue the black heart. Up to this day, the first existence at the Nascent Soul Stage he had encountered was the ghostly face on the Outer Tomb Door. Now that ghostly face had submitted to him, but the process of its subjugation had caused its strength to diminish significantly. It was currently only about the strength of a Half-step Nascent Soul, and since he had shredded the ghostly face into pieces to subjugate it, that experience held no reference value for his current situation. He couldn’t possibly do the same to the black heart, as not all beings at the Nascent Soul Stage could be subdued that way.

Despite the black heart lacking a brain, hands, feet, or any other organs, Qi Tian believed it possessed some form of intelligence and that there was still a possibility of communication. Thus, Qi Tian decided to be straightforward and directly communicate his intention to subjugate the black heart and asked for its cooperation.

Qi Tian spoke out firmly, “I’m now going to subjugate you with a Blood Pact. If you are willing to accept the pact, then cooperate with me fully. As long as you’re doing well, I’ll do well, and we’ll all be well. I promise not to mistreat you after you’ve followed me.”

As he spoke, Qi Tian bit his index finger and began to draw the Blood Pact in the air with his fresh blood.

The black heart, surrounded by layers of the Transporting Whirlwind, remained motionless. It was unknown whether it intended to agree to Qi Tian’s request or to oppose it. Regardless of its intentions, Qi Tian meticulously continued to draw the Blood Pact.

Soon, Qi Tian finished drawing the Blood Pact. With a push of his hand, the Blood Pact suspended in the air flew towards the black heart. The outermost Transporting Whirlwind made way for the Blood Pact, and once it had passed, the whirlwind closed up the path again. Afterwards, the second layer of the Transporting Whirlwind made way for the Blood Pact.

In this manner, layer by layer, the Blood Pact reached the very center of the encirclement formed by the Transporting Whirlwind and descended towards the black heart.

If the black heart did not resist and was willing to submit to Qi Tian, then the Blood Pact would land upon it. If the black heart accepted it, the Blood Pact between the two of them would be established.

Just as the Blood Pact was about to land on the black heart, the heart, which had previously quieted down, began to beat violently once again. A tremendous and volatile spiritual pressure was released without end, attacking the Blood Pact mere inches away.

The Blood Pact, bearing a fraction of Qi Tian’s mental strength, stood no chance against such a close-range attack from the black heart and immediately collapsed.

Qi Tian’s head throbbed as if someone had suddenly stabbed him with a needle. The pain was brief but deep to the bone. However, Qi Tian’s current mental strength was profound and pure, and he quickly recovered without sustaining any injuries. This resilience was precisely why Qi Tian dared to subjugate the black heart directly using a Blood Pact.

Enraged by the black heart’s ungratefulness and particularly its attack, Qi Tian concluded that the black heart was not willing to easily submit to him. Therefore, he would not be able to subjugate it easily. With a wave of his hand, the Transporting Whirlwind received his command and charged at the black heart one by one, wrapping it up and then dragging it towards the palm of Qi Tian’s hand.

The black heart struggled furiously but to no avail. Before long, it was hauled to the storage chamber of the Heavenly Dao Engine by the Transporting Whirlwind and was suppressed there.

Transforming the black heart into fuel for the Heavenly Dao Engine was too wasteful, but since Qi Tian presently couldn’t subjugate the black heart, all he could do was suppress it for the time being. He would wait for a suitable opportunity in the future to subdue it.

After the black heart vanished, the spiritual pressure that had pervaded the tomb corridor disappeared completely. Qi Tian felt a sense of relief as if a heavy burden had been lifted from his shoulders, and he felt exceptionally refreshed in body and mind.

Regaining his spirit, Qi Tian took a couple of steps forward and then stepped right into the Inner Underground Palace. He looked around and quickly spotted ten people lying on the ground. These were the Vanguard Team, those who, not long ago, had been equipped with the most powerful gear of the entire team and had entered the Inner Underground Palace as vanguards.

Emperor Jianwu and the others had held great expectations for them, hoping they would pave a way for the entire team. However, they had not anticipated that they would end up like this, sprawling on the floor, neither alive nor dead to be seen.

Utilizing the Heavenly Dao Engine’s ability to sense Spirit Qi, Qi Tian promptly conducted a thorough investigation of the ten people and was surprised to find that not one of them was dead. They were merely in a state of unconsciousness and, judging from the outside, had sustained no physical injuries. As for whether their souls and Divine Senses were damaged, that was not something Qi Tian could easily assess with the Heavenly Dao Engine alone.
