Chapter 1060 - 1060 0625 Treasure in the Corner_2

Chapter 1060: Chapter 0625: Treasure in the Corner_2 Chapter 1060: Chapter 0625: Treasure in the Corner_2 Unable to advance in cultivation realm, Qi Tian had to opt for better equipment. When he faced Emperor Jianwu and Huoyang Emperor, he repeatedly emphasized the lack of suitable magical treasures. Strictly speaking, his statement was half-true, half-false.

The reason for this was that Qi Tian had a very large selection to choose from, which was not limited to the more than eighty magical treasures offered by Emperor Jianwu and Huoyang Emperor. Don’t forget, he had cleaned out the Treasure Pavilions of both Chaoyang Palace and Wenzhi Palace. The situation in the Treasure Pavilion of Wenzhi Palace wasn’t much different from that of Jianwu Palace and Huoyang Palace. There were some Half-step Nascent Soul level magical treasures, about twenty or thirty pieces, but without exception, their quality was basically on the same level as those of the same rank from Jianwu Palace and Huoyang Palace, all belonging to the relatively low-end category of Half-step Nascent Soul level artifacts.

The Treasure Pavilion of Chaoyang Palace was quite different though. Although Emperor Chaoyang had set up numerous enchantments and formations there, without exception, they all contained vast Spirit Qi. Qi Tian, without any ceremony, let the Heavenly Dao Engine devour all the Spirit Qi in those enchantments and formations, leaving them completely empty. Thus, without much effort, Qi Tian opened the Treasure Pavilion of Emperor Chaoyang.

This Treasure Pavilion of Emperor Chaoyang was essentially a Storage Magical Treasure, albeit shaped like a treasure pavilion. The space inside was vast, and Qi Tian found more than forty Half-step Nascent Soul level magical treasures within. In addition, there were almost the same number of other Half-step Nascent Soul level items, totaling about ninety pieces. The quantity could be said to be quite substantial.

Among these Half-step Nascent Soul level items, Qi Tian identified through careful discernment that they could be categorized into three grades. The low-end Half-step Nascent Soul level items had a quality that was on par with those of the same level possessed by Jianwu Palace and Huoyang Palace.

Another grade higher were the mid-tier items. Their quality was on the same level as the gloves worn by Yang Yongqi. Additionally, there were high-end items, which had quality superior to the mid-tier ones.

Out of these ninety or so Half-step Nascent Soul level items in the Treasure Pavilion of Chaoyang Palace, the low-end ones accounted for more than half, roughly around sixty pieces. Then, the mid-tier were more than twenty, and the smallest number were the high-end, only a few, three or four pieces.

The more than sixty low-end Half-step Nascent Soul level items were directly ignored by Qi Tian. Then, out of those twenty-plus mid-tier items, more than half of them were not weapons or armor, nor were they defensive accessories or the like. They were all materials required for setting up enchantments or formations, or other items that couldn’t be directly used in combat. As for those that could be used in combat or could directly enhance Qi Tian’s strength, there were only three in the mid-tier category.

Aside from one accessory that was intact, the other two were somewhat damaged, leading to their appearance as mid-tier, but lacking the effectiveness of mid-tier items. If they were to be used in actual combat, bad luck could let an opponent pinpoint their damaged parts, target attacks there, and thus, the effectiveness they could wield might even fall short of that of intact low-end Half-step Nascent Soul level items.

As for the few high-end Half-step Nascent Soul level items, without exception, none of them were suitable for combat. They weren’t weapons or armor, nor were they accessories. They held no significance in enhancing Qi Tian’s combat prowess.

Such an outcome left Qi Tian quite displeased. He had originally thought that he could select some magical treasures from Emperor Chaoyang’s Treasure Pavilion that would aid him. However, it was clear that despite the many defensive measures Emperor Chaoyang had put in place, he still did not trust the security of his Treasure Pavilion. He likely had kept a larger number of high-quality magical treasures on his person at all times.

Qi Tian became increasingly aware that Emperor Chaoyang would be a very difficult opponent to deal with. Moreover, the fact that Half-step Nascent Soul level magical treasures were divided into low, middle, and high grades, forced Qi Tian to suspect that Emperor Chaoyang must be equipped with high-grade Half-step Nascent Soul level magical treasures—possibly more than one. Perhaps, he used a high-grade weapon and armor in battle, and even the accessories he wore were high-grade Half-step Nascent Soul level magical treasures. If Qi Tian had to confront Emperor Chaoyang, who was high-grade in every aspect, directly in the future, the difficulty would be extraordinarily great.

Just the thought of such an opponent made Qi Tian’s scalp tingle. Back in the City of Ten Thousand Tribulations, although there were Nascent Soul Masters and many cultivators stronger than Emperor Chaoyang, Qi Tian was never too worried about his own safety. He used all kinds of methods and took various measures to hide himself; at least he could ensure that he wouldn’t be exposed before the eyes of those high-level cultivators, always keeping them unaware of his presence. But now, employing those same methods had become impossible for Qi Tian. The deeds he carried out in the Imperial Family Secret Territory were enough to draw the attention of all the Princes, not to mention the Princes from the other two major cities—Emperor Chaoyang from Eastern Capital City would definitely not let him go.

Regardless, Qi Tian knew he had to prepare for the struggle against Chaoyang Palace, as there was not much time left for him.

In fact, when it came to confronting Emperor Chaoyang, it wasn’t that Qi Tian was completely without confidence. As long as he used the magical treasures and armor left by Master Ming Ren, he had a considerable assurance that he could fight Emperor Chaoyang evenly, or even possibly gain the upper hand. But the problem was, Emperor Chaoyang was not alone; he had many helpers. If Emperor Chaoyang and Yang Yongqi joined forces to besiege him, Qi Tian might not be able to hold out. Using the treasures left by Master Ming Ren would consume too much, and Qi Tian couldn’t last long—this was his biggest problem.

After some thought, Qi Tian decided to search well within the Treasure Pavilions of Emperor Chaoyang and Emperor Wenzhi. Perhaps he could find some treasures that he had missed.

The first place Qi Tian searched was the Treasure Pavilion of Emperor Chaoyang. Once again, he utilized the sensing function of the Heavenly Dao Engine to inspect the inside and outside of the Treasure Pavilion, ensuring every corner was scrutinized without missing a single spot. After a long search back and forth, Qi Tian spotted two large chests in an inconspicuous corner of the Treasure Pavilion. Made of wood, they looked very ordinary, with no prohibitions or array formations on them.

The chests were stuffed full, even packed to the brim, but Qi Tian didn’t find much Spirit Qi on these items, which seemed rather abnormal. Logically, being Emperor Chaoyang’s Treasure Pavilion, it shouldn’t be filled with many objects lacking Spirit Qi, that seemed to be just waste.

Qi Tian used his Divine Sense to grab one of the large chests and casually tossed it to the ground so that it appeared above the floor. He then began to remove the items from within, one by one. He discovered that the contents of the chest were mostly junk—due to long ages, conflicts, or errors during creation, among other reasons. In other words, these items were essentially trash meant to be discarded; perhaps those responsible for helping Emperor Chaoyang manage the Treasure Pavilion hadn’t had the chance to throw them out before Qi Tian cut their operations short.

After realizing this, Qi Tian almost stopped clearing out the items. But then he thought that since he’d already cleared more than half of the chest, it wouldn’t take much longer to finish the task. So, he continued sorting through it.

When Qi Tian got to the bottom of the chest, his eyes suddenly lit up. At the bottom, there was a neat array of Wolf Teeth Knives.

Qi Tian hurriedly grabbed one Wolf Teeth Knife and examined it closely.
