Chapter 93: Chapter 93: Wukong’s Fury Battle in Vermilion Bird City
Upon hearing Wukong’s words, Ren Tianxing’s face also turned ugly, signaling the brink of an outright rupture.
A moment later, Ren Tianxing finally said, "What I said was the truth. You, as the Green Emperor, have grand desires but take no concrete actions. My Vermilion Bird Clan has always been practical. Not to mention my clan, even the White Tiger Clan, Qingqiu Clan, Qilin Clan, and other great clans do the same!"
Wukong was infuriated. He pointed at Ren Tianxing and said, "Good, very good!"
With that, he had already grabbed his iron staff and swung it down at Ren Tianxing’s head!
Ren Tianxing had been on guard and quickly dodged using his movement technique, but Wukong kept close, using the Golden Crow Chasing the Sun Body Technique, and swept another strike with his staff! Having no choice, Ren Tianxing had to bring out a treasured sword to block. Taking advantage of the momentum, he drew a Taiji Circle, directing away much of the force from Wukong’s iron staff, barely managing to withstand it.
"If you want to fight, go outside. Don’t wreck the things in the mansion!" Ren Tianxing shouted, dashing out with his movement technique.
With a cold smile, Wukong placed the Great Revolution Seal above his head and also followed outside; Yuan Hong followed with large strides as well.
Looking up, one could see Wukong engaged in a fierce battle with Ren Tianxing, five hundred zhang above Vermilion Bird City’s empty sky.
Ren Tianxing’s cultivation level was extraordinary, and his swordsmanship was extremely formidable. How could Wukong win against him? But the Great Revolution Seal was an unparalleled magical treasure, fixed in the empty sky above, its revolutionary spirit enveloping Wukong, impregnable. Whenever a sword thrust approached, it was blocked by the Great Revolution Seal, unable to harm Wukong. Wukong took this opportunity to unleash his staff technique, throwing Ren Tianxing into a state of disarray.
While Wukong could twist the rules, he didn’t understand the underlying principles, so fighting against a Daluo Golden Immortal was still a great disadvantage.
The onlookers within Vermilion Bird City could only see flashes of light and sparks scattered about, with booming sounds spreading far and wide.
"It’s the Great Elder; the Great Elder has started fighting with the new Green Emperor," someone exclaimed in shock.
Ren Tianxing uttered a light rebuke, deployed his sword technique, and True Fire swirled around. He thrust with his sword, and thunder was instantly born.
Knowing that he could not withstand this attack, Wukong raised his horsetail whisk, brushing vehemently. Instantly, Seven-Colored Divine Light surged forward like a tidal wave.
With another light rebuke from Ren Tianxing, he recited the Dharma Decree and called out, "A sword to fix the mountains and rivers!"
Ren Tianxing, resolute, pierced through the Seven-Colored Divine Light straight towards Wukong.
Wukong had not expected Ren Tianxing to break through the Seven-Colored Divine Light. The sword in front of his eyes flickered dimly, desiring to change but unable to, the rules twisted. He had no choice but to raise the Great Revolution Seal. The sickle and the axe both glowed fiercely, blocking in front, and with a "clang," he managed to catch Ren Tianxing’s sword in the middle, perfectly blocking it.
"Heh!"
Wukong swung his staff down from above, likely with a force of millions of pounds. If one were to make contact, it would result in broken bones and torn tendons, if not death.
Ren Tianxing flicked his wrist, the sword danced in a whirl, and with a fierce pull, he extracted the sword from between the axe and sickle, drawing a Taiji Circle to receive Wukong’s staff.
"Great Mountains and Rivers Seal!"
Seeing that Ren Tianxing had easily caught his long-prepared strike, Wukong began to cast Divine Skill Spells. Suddenly, a square seal with four corners began to form above the void, and the seal was enveloped by the weight of mountains and rivers. As it descended, the void itself shattered into Chaos.
To shatter the void was a feat of a Daluo Golden Immortal, but Wukong’s actual combat power was now barely different from a Daluo Golden Immortal’s. The ability Yuan Hong possessed to control the void was something only at the Patriarch Level could comprehend.
This Great Mountains and Rivers Seal was extremely formidable. Once Wukong cast it, almost half of his Mana was spent, and it was quite strenuous. Unlike before, when he could lightly invoke the grandeur of boundless landscapes, he was now using the Tao of mountains and rivers as the foundation to form this seal, which was why it was so formidable, once even suppressing the Great Might Heavenly Dragon into complaining.
Ren Tianxing’s face grew grave. The Seal’s conception was too oppressive. To receive it with the flesh would likely be impossible, as not everyone possessed the strength of the Great Might Heavenly Dragon. He revealed his true form, transforming into the Vermilion Bird, his body fiery red, feathers dazzling, his cry clear and crisp. Then, as the Vermilion Bird, he confronted the descending Great Mountains and Rivers Seal.
This Vermilion Bird true form turned into a red sun, seemingly embodying the sun’s concept of nourishing all things!
The clash of concepts produced a ’crack’ sound. Both conceptions were incredibly heavy; when they collided, the void itself began to collapse unwittingly.
To himself, Wukong thought, "This Ren Tianxing is indeed worthy of being a Daluo Golden Immortal for tens of thousands of years, so formidable!"
With a cry from his true form, Ren Tianxing’s red sun pushed upward. His Mana, far exceeding Wukong’s, caused a loud "boom" as the mountains and rivers within the Great Seal shattered, the nation perished, and the Great Mountains and Rivers Seal dissipated into nothingness.
Wukong took up his staff and leaped to pursue the red sun, bringing the staff down onto it!
However, the red sun dodged nimbly, ramming viciously towards Wukong’s chest!
As large as a basin, the red sun was enveloped in True Fire, scorching hot. Wukong felt his body burning up and quickly brought down the Great Revolution Seal!
"Bang!"
The Great Revolution Seal struck the red sun, sending it flying back, and Wukong too was flung backwards from the backlash, a trickle of fresh blood spilling from the corner of his mouth. However, it was a minor injury, nothing serious. But Ren Tianxing, having received this seal, was in serious discomfort, feeling the revolutionary will vibrate through him, shaking his internal organs, causing him to spit out blood as well.
Astonished, Ren Tianxing thought, "This monkey is truly formidable. Merely at the stage of a Taiyi Golden Immortal, yet fighting me to a standstill!"
"As I had just dispelled my true form, I saw Wukong take out another Magical Treasure, drawing the bow and nocking an arrow. The bowstring was taut like a full moon, and the arrow on it quivered without cease.
Wukong shouted, ’Go! One arrow becomes the Three Pure Ones.’
He released his hand, and as the arrow flew, it instantly split into three, each targeting one of Ren Tianxing’s vital points.
Ren Tianxing saw the fierce oncoming arrows and dared not take them lightly. With a wave of his sleeve, a red Great Banner appeared in his hand. This banner, named the Vermilion Bird Banner, was one of his extremely powerful Magical Treasures. He had been refining it since he entered the Immortal Dao, constantly tempering it day and night with the True Sunfire, for as long as thirty thousand years!
With a wave of the banner, the True Sunfire surged out ferociously, the fluctuations of Mana being extremely terrifying.
The three arrows, upon being enveloped and shaken by the Great Banner, instantly lost their momentum and were flung away by Ren Tianxing.
Wukong had already drawn his second arrow, shouting, ’Take another of my arrows!’
The second arrow was aimed at Ren Tianxing’s Tong Tian acupoint, but with the Magical Treasure in his hand, Ren Tianxing was not afraid at all and swung the Great Banner to strike it.
The second arrow was also swept into the banner and, with a thunderous ’booming’ sound, was subsequently shaken out from the banner and fell down.
Wukong had already drawn his third arrow. With a sudden release, the arrow turned into a streak of golden light, speeding towards Ren Tianxing’s Xuán Jī acupoint!
Ren Tianxing lifted the Great Banner to strike, and upon contact, there was another huge explosion, with True Fire blazing all over the sky. Yet, this arrow was also blocked.
Wukong drew his fourth arrow, shouting, ’The fourth arrow breaks the colossal barrier!’
This arrow held an even greater power than the previous three, heading straight for Ren Tianxing’s colossal barrier acupoint, tearing a long fissure into the void itself.
Ren Tianxing faced the arrow unflinchingly, still shaking the Great Banner in greeting. As the banner fluttered, a Vermilion Bird emerged and bit at the arrow. The force of the arrow was formidable enough to tear the Vermilion Bird to shreds, but it too lost its power and fell.
’The fifth arrow wounds the Qi Sea!’ Wukong drew the fifth arrow, which sped towards the Qi Sea acupoint in Ren Tianxing’s chest.
After blocking four arrows and breaking into a sweat, Ren Tianxing saw Wukong release the fifth arrow without pause. With no other choice, he shook the Great Banner to intercept it.
The Vermilion Bird soared, surrounded by True Fire, entangling the arrow in a frenzied tangle that caused the arrow to tremble incessantly. But finally, it managed to significantly weaken the arrow’s power. Ren Tianxing advanced with his sword in his left hand, performing a Sword technique that emitted Sword Qi in all directions, enveloping the arrow and promptly knocking it down.
As Wukong drew his sixth arrow, Ren Tianxing called out, ’Stop! Let’s end here, let’s end here.’
Wukong sneered, ’Do you think now that I mean business?’
Ren Tianxing quickly replied, ’Of course that’s what I think!’
He was confident he could catch the sixth arrow, but it would surely be awkward. Instead of losing face, why not call it a spar and end it there? Losing face would be a real loss; conceding verbally wasn’t a big deal.
The five arrows were still falling to the ground, not yet touching down, when Wukong summoned them with a gesture, turning them into five streaks of golden light that flew back to him.
Ren Tianxing felt chilled to the bone; this fellow’s Magical Treasure was truly formidable, every piece incomparable to the mortal realm. He knew Wukong still had a Green Lotus that he hadn’t brought out.
Wukong asked, ’What’s your proposal?’
Ren Tianxing said, ’Let’s go down and take a seat for a slow talk. This is not the place for conversation.’
Wukong nodded, ’All right! But don’t try to fob me off with those excuses again, or next time I won’t hold back. Don’t blame me if I hurt your pride.’
This remark deeply irked Ren Tianxing, but he said nothing. After all, it was the truth. As a Daluo Golden Immortal, having fought a Taiyi Golden Immortal this long without a decisive outcome, and even at a slight disadvantage, was somewhat shameful. If he were to be injured in a public fight, he would have no face to show to others.
Yuan Hong, watching from below, clapped and laughed, ’Ha ha, ha ha! Are you two filled with fighting? Watching you makes me itch to join in with a couple of strikes.’
Ren Tianxing forced a couple of laughs, ’General Yuan makes jokes at my expense. I’m no match for you.’
He was well aware that although Yuan Hong’s Realm had dropped to Taiyi Golden Immortal, his understanding of cultivation hadn’t lessened, and surely the Sect Founder’s ability to shatter the void was still preserved. If he fought Yuan Hong, he would likely take some quite solid hits.
Seeing Ren Tianxing had lost his temper, Yuan Hong stopped teasing him about his loss of face and simply chuckled with a strange laugh.
Ren Tianxing once again welcomed Wukong and the others inside, serving them hot tea and seating everyone.
Once settled, Ren Tianxing clasped his hands with a smile, ’Just now, having sparred with the Green Emperor, I truly experienced your extraordinary prowess.’
Wukong returned the gesture, saying indifferently, ’You flatter me, brother. Both too much and too kind!’"
