Chapter 269: Chapter 258: Crossing Ancient and Modern Times to Sever the Past

Lu Ya plotted against Wukong, and after intercepting him, a great battle ensued, but it was difficult to prevail in such a short time. Eventually, he made a firm decision to blow up the Immortal-Slaying, God-Punishing treasure blade in his hand and sacrificed it to summon a jade figure, a thousand zhang tall and wielding a cold light that struck with tremendous force.

At this level of battle, magical treasures were the primary factor, followed by divine skills, representing a clash of actual strengths. There was absolutely no room for trickery; only head-on confrontation could resolve the fight.

Even when Wukong was in the Dream Dao and battled Amitabha Buddha, it took an entire month, which goes to show the might of the Sages.

Wukong couldn’t afford a protracted battle with his Great Dao injury, and neither could Lu Ya since the Great Sun Tathagata was wounded by the Victorious Fighting Buddha. If the Great Sun Tathagata were defeated, the situation would reverse, so both Lu Ya and Wukong had to fight with all their might.

Once the battle commenced, it was unknown how many of Wukong’s Primordial Spirit Thoughts were eroded away by the Great Dao Wound, and his vital energies were also severely weakened.

Lu Ya, with the jade figure, severely injured Wukong and then used a method to condense the accumulated essence of Separation Fire over many years into Divine Thunder for sacrifice.

When the Separation Fire Divine Thunder exploded, its power was no less than that of the Chaos Divine Thunder, after all, it was the Innate Separation Fire, with boundless might.

Wukong’s Three Thousand Great Paths ceaselessly operated, enveloping his body. As the Eastern Emperor Bell, a treasure capable of both attack and defense, was lent to the Victorious Fighting Buddha to deal with the Great Sun Tathagata, Wukong was at a significant disadvantage in this battle against Lu Ya.

"Die!" Lu Ya bellowed, splitting out a thousand Primordial Spirit Thoughts, wrapping them with the Innate Separation Fire Divine Thunder and hurling them down.

Sages possess ninety billion Primordial Spirit Thoughts; a thousand thoughts truly don’t amount to much for a Sage. But if more were used, it could harm their foundation, requiring gradual recovery to reach the saturation state of ninety billion thoughts again. These thoughts are like the conception of children, one Yin and one Yang, able to engender a new thought through their mutual interaction.

This is similar to the mystical union between Dao Companions, subtly mirroring each other and capable of engendering Primordial Spirit Thoughts.

Wukong wielded his Creation Heavenly Mechanism Staff, striking towards Lu Ya’s crown. But the jade figure summoned by Lu Ya struck out, flicking a finger that unleashed a cold gleam as sharp as thunderous lightning! Wukong was shocked; if that strike were to sever his head, even his Primordial Spirit would not be able to escape. He had to deflect the cold gleam with the Creation Heavenly Mechanism Staff, and in that moment of opportunity, Lu Ya’s Primordial Spirit Thoughts bombarded down!

A thousand Primordial Spirit Thoughts, along with the Innate Separation Fire Divine Thunder, exploded all at once, containing traces of Heavenly Dao Laws and wielding truly terrifying power!

Not even a Great Dao Demon God of the Heavenly Dao Saint level could unleash such a powerful attack. If they wished to attain such lethality, they too would have to detonate all their Primordial Spirit Thoughts, resulting in the explosion of ninety billion Divine Thunders. If not careful, even Wukong would meet an unfortunate end, defeated in bitterness.

Having experienced the self-explosion of nine hundred billion Primordial Spirit Thoughts of a Chaos Heaven Demon, Wukong was certainly not phased. However, without the Eastern Emperor Bell in his hand, it was not easy to block the attack. The Great Revolution Seal soared back and was erected, transforming into a tall wall, with sickles and axes carved onto its surface, resembling vivid banners.

"Boom!"

The Divine Thunder exploded, causing the Great Revolution Seal to tremble and burst forth with the revolutionary will of all beings, blocking all the residual effects of the explosion.

Wukong’s Mana continued to flow, the wounds of the Great Dao burst one after another, and his blood and Qi were incessantly lost, coughing up Essence Blood.

This Essence Blood, usually only sprayed during a desperate battle to maximize a Magical Treasure’s power, but Wukong now found himself coughing it up inadvertently, a sign of the severity of his Great Dao injury and the gravity of his condition! The battle with Tathagata beyond the realms was nothing compared, but after consecutive fights against six Chaos Heaven Demons, all of the Heavenly Dao Saint level, and then escaping from the hands of a Great Dao Demon God of the Great Dao Sage level, he was utterly exhausted.

Lu Ya indeed proved to be an exceptional figure; sensing the fall of Heavenly Dao’s causality, he made a decisive move, strategizing swiftly to kill Wukong—an epitome of seizing the moment to strike when the opponent is weak.

Forced continuously into retreat by Lu Ya, Wukong faced a series of ruthless onslaughts from Lu Ya’s Dharma Gates.

Fusing with the thousand-zhang-tall jade figure, which was the essence of the Immortal-Slaying, God-Punishing treasure blade, condensed over tens of thousands of years, Lu Ya relied on it in his pursuit of the Great Dao Sage path. Pressed into a corner, he sacrificed it without hesitation, a decisive action indeed.

The jade figure raised its hand, releasing a sword technique. A majestic Sword Qi burst forth, flying straight at Wukong.

Wukong inwardly smiled bitterly, as on one side the Victorious Fighting Buddha intensified his assault against the Great Sun Tathagata, pushing him into consecutive retreats, but without being able to further harm him in short order. On the other side, Lu Ya had unleashed his trump card, making Wukong’s situation extremely perilous indeed!

"Boom!" Wukong pushed the Great Revolution Seal forward, and as the axe materialized, he swung it at the Sword Qi.

As the two forces collided, their power was immense. Wukong urged his mana, and once again, the scars of the Great Dao were triggered, causing him to cough up blood.

Lu Ya’s offensive was too fierce for Wukong to hold back.

"If I use the Strike of Opening the Heavens now, it will greatly drain my primordial qi, possibly even causing my physical body to collapse! It would be a loss not worth the gain. I can only hope that the Victorious Fighting Buddha will soon defeat the Great Sun Tathagata, heavily injuring him, so I can then deal with Lu Ya," Wukong calculated the consequences of using his killing move in his mind.

The Strike of Opening the Heavens involves revolving the Three Flowers and Five Qi to their extremes and operating the Primordial Great Strength Technique to generate immense power within the muscles. It’s as if a single force can shatter all magic, but it places an enormous strain on both the physical body and the Primordial Spirit. In his current state, using the Strike of Opening the Heavens would undoubtedly trigger the eruption of the Great Dao wounds; his physical body would certainly collapse, and his Primordial Spirit would also be damaged. This body, left by Zixia, was a perfect fit for him, as it had been imbued with his essence from Zixia’s long companionship over tens of thousands of years. If this body were destroyed, it would be difficult to find another that fits so well.

A perfectly compatible physical body is also key to exhibiting combat power and enhancing one’s cultivation level. It would be too costly to destroy this body just to deal with Lu Ya.

Lu Ya sneered, "Sun Wukong, with your Great Dao wounds, are you wary of destroying your own body? Heh, why don’t you use the Strike of Opening the Heavens that mimics Pangu’s essence? That’s your strongest killing move!"

Even in a normal state, using the Strike of Opening the Heavens, which draws upon Pangu’s essence of Splitting Heaven and Earth, would place a great burden on oneself. If Wukong were to execute it with his current cultivation level, he could even split the Heavenly Dao Laws! With a Chaos magical treasure like Pangu Axe, one could definitely Split Heaven and Earth.

Wukong sneered back, "Lu Ya, you sure do talk too much!"

With those words, he immediately attacked with his Heavenly Mechanism Staff, but Lu Ya’s jade figure was extremely formidable, possessing numerous abilities to conceal himself in the void, using the Dharma Gate of embryonic transformation to change shapes silently. In an instant, he vanished without a trace. Not only did Wukong’s two staff strikes miss, but they also caused him to spit out two mouthfuls of fresh blood.

"Whoosh!"

A cold light shot out from the jade figure’s eyes, aiming straight for Wukong’s back.

Wukong turned around and blocked it with his staff, but Lu Ya changed his spell, seemingly imbuing it with the mysterious essence of the Time Law.

"Transcending ancient and present, slaying the past!" Lu Ya uttered softly, unleashing his Divine Skills.

The jade figure, carrying Lu Ya, disappeared in an instant, hiding within the Time Law, unexpectedly traveling through past and future, aiming for the past to slay Wukong’s past body!

The Buddha spoke of cultivating the past, present, and future, which was not about practicing reincarnation or anything of the sort—that was the Buddha’s misinterpretation of Amitabha’s meaning! What Amitabha spoke of—past, present, and future—referred to cultivating the past body, present body, and future body to prevent those with Great Divine Power over the Time Law from traveling through time, briefly returning to the past or future to slay others.

Even if one’s past and future bodies were slain by someone transcending time, the original self wouldn’t die but would suffer significant damage. If the spellcaster was strong enough to make multiple transits, slaying the past body three or five times, the original body would definitely be gravely injured, making it much easier to kill the original self afterward.

Wukong had not anticipated that Lu Ya’s jade figure possessed such a Dharma Gate, able to master the Time Law and traverse time to slay his past self!

Wukong flew up, attempting to enter the time tunnel, but he was repelled. This was Lu Ya’s law; Wukong couldn’t enter it! In response, he operated the Heavenly Dao Laws to seize control of the time tunnel, but despite their activation, the time tunnel showed no sign of movement. Clearly, Lu Ya had already returned to the past to slay Wukong’s past self.

"Creation... Heavenly Mechanism?" Wukong’s eyes suddenly lit up, clear as a pristine mirror.

"Ha ha, ha ha ha! Lord of Spiritual Treasures, I owe you a great debt once again!" Wukong laughed heartily as he thrust the Heavenly Mechanism Staff directly into the time tunnel.
