Chapter 260 - 249: Nine Revolutions Heavenly Dao Saint Pill
Chapter 260: Chapter 249: Nine Revolutions Heavenly Dao Saint Pill
The Heavenly Court, with Ying Zheng as the ruler of ten thousand heavens, began to implement a revolutionary policy throughout the realm.
Under the strong push of the Heavenly Court, nothing could pose an obstacle, and moreover, no one dared to obey in public but oppose in secret. A great mirror of sin was hung in the Hall of Supreme Harmony, and anyone who received orders had to carry them out with all their might. Within five years, equality had largely been achieved, abolishing landlords, local gentry, nobility, and those with high Mana from oppressing the common people.
In the Republic, officials were appointed to inspect the lands. Whenever the people faced oppression, they would report it to the officials, and then the government would resolve the issues. Of course, if the government could not solve the problems, they would be reported up through the ranks until they reached Ying Zheng for a decision.
This revolutionary undertaking was fully endorsed by the Three Pure Ones. Even when Taoist Sect disciples broke the law, the Heavenly Court would take them down with thunderous measures. They would then reflect the sins of the accused upon the great mirror for all under heaven to see before cutting them down with a dog head cleaver at the waist.
Although the laws were strict, the people did not suffer as they had during the Qin Dynasty. Ying Zheng learned from the failures of Qin policies, tightening where necessary and relaxing elsewhere.
The members of the Demon Tribe no longer dared to casually capture humans for food; if they desired blood food, they would hunt for game in the mountains. Those with a larger appetite would transform into humans to trade with the common folk, not daring to cross the Heavenly Court. Should anyone be discovered, and upon verification, execution by decapitation was certain. In times of chaos, stringent measures were necessary; once oppression was discovered, the perpetrators were executed without the establishment of prisons. This served to kill the chicken to scare the monkeys, forming a collective consciousness among the people. Eventually, the laws would be relaxed and prisons established.
Under such severe and harsh rules, no one dared to cause chaos or oppress the common people. In ten years, the revolutionary transformation of the realm was complete.
Wukong’s grand aspiration was fulfilled. He felt that his Primordial Spirit Thoughts were exceptionally clear. Now, everyone in the realm was free, including members of the Demon Tribe who could freely enter human cities as long as they did not cause harm or chaos. This was the achievement of freedom and equality, as long as the laws were not broken.
With his Primordial Spirit Thoughts clear, all he needed to do was sever the ties of cause and effect to gain complete control over the Taoist Magic and changes of the Heavenly Dao. From then on, nothing in this realm could evade his calculation. Tathagata was the one with the greatest karmic ties to him, but he had shattered the Heavenly Dao Laws to enter the Chaotic World. Killing him would not be an easy task.
"I will go to Hong Jun Taoist Patriarch for assistance; I believe he will grant me this favor," said Wukong.
"Hong Jun Taoist Patriarch will surely be willing to help," Xuan Ming said. "Even if he doesn’t, Di Jun would."
Wukong nodded and replied, "What exactly is inside the Chaotic World?"
"Inside the Chaotic World lies a vast expanse of chaos, with few living beings. There, there are no directions, no up or down, no heaven and earth. Everything returns to silence, to eternity, to the Great Dao," Xuan Ming explained.
"If that is the case, how can I find Tathagata? I can feel that he is not dead, and this karmic thread is still linked," Wukong said.
"The abilities of a Great Dao Sage are unpredictable. This matter will surely be assisted by Di Jun and Hong Jun Taoist Patriarch. A Heavenly Dao Saint is deemed so because they are still bound by the operations of the Heavenly Dao in this world! In the Chaotic World, a Heavenly Dao Saint’s power cannot be fully unleashed. Only within this world can they display their strongest skills. However, the Great Dao is different; it is omnipresent. Even in the Chaotic World, it is under the control of the Great Dao. They will certainly have the means," Xuan Ming explained.
Xuan Ming became a Saint before Wukong and had a special relationship with him, so it was natural for him to lead the way for Wukong, which was highly beneficial.
Wukong nodded slightly and said, "Good, I will meditate for a day, and then seek out Hong Jun Taoist Patriarch and the Heavenly Emperor."
Xuan Ming then offered him a budding meditation cushion. Wukong sat cross-legged on it and meditated for an entire day, regulating his spirit, energy, and mind to a state of fullness, with his essence occasionally appearing as a faint smoke.
The next day, Wukong slowly opened his eyes, feeling fully rejuvenated. This was the ideal state for fighting.
Wukong smiled and said, "Tathagata is no easy opponent. If too much time passes, various complications may arise. I shall now seek out Hong Jun Taoist Patriarch and the Heavenly Emperor so they can send me out of this world to kill Tathagata."
Xuan Ming nodded and replied, "The Chaotic World is incredibly dangerous; you must be careful."
"Rest assured, I know my limits," said Wukong.
"Take this budding meditation cushion with you; it might be of great use to you," Xuan Ming suggested.
Grateful in his heart, Wukong responded without the need for words, "Very well, then I shall take it with me."
With Xuan Ming’s cushion in hand, Wukong headed towards the Thirty-Three Heavens. To seek out Hong Jun, he had to start with his three disciples.
He thought about it; his interactions with Tong Tian Sect Master were the most frequent, but Supreme Elderly Lord was the eldest brother, so he did not enter the Jade Purity Heaven but instead bypassed it, heading directly for the Supreme Purity Heaven.
Upon arrival in the Supreme Purity Heaven, he proceeded straight to the Tushita Palace.
Golden Horn and Silver Horn felt awkward upon seeing Wukong and couldn’t help but let out a strange chuckle, saying, "The Green Emperor has arrived. I’ll go in and report to the master right away."
Wukong replied, "Mhm."
Golden Horn and Silver Horn asked Wukong to wait outside the Tushita Palace for a moment, and went inside to summon Laozi.
Laozi was busy with alchemy, which was not a suitable time to be disturbed, but he had previously instructed Golden Horn and Silver Horn that if Wukong came seeking him, they should invite him in no matter what he was doing. Indeed, when Laozi heard of Wukong’s arrival, he put down the Palm-Leaf Fan he was holding and directed Golden Horn and Silver Horn to invite Wukong to sit in the hall.
Following Golden Horn and Silver Horn to the hall, Wukong saw Laozi had already come out to greet him, laughing and saying, "A rare visitor, a rare visitor! Wukong, it’s been a long time since you last visited me."
Wukong thought to himself, "Indeed, the last time I came here, you knocked me unconscious with the Vajra Bracelet and captured me for the Alchemy Furnace." However, he also knew Laozi had done so for his own good, actually extending him a convenience, so he bore no grudges, clasped his hands together, and replied, "Haha, indeed, it has been a long time since I’ve been to see Supreme Elderly Lord."
Laozi then said, "Please come in, have a seat, and let us discuss your matter."
In reality, Laozi was also a person shrewd to the bone, how could he not know the purpose behind Wukong’s visit? Yet, at any time, one must not lose the courtesy, even Saints were no exception, lest one becomes a subject of gossip. Since Ancient Times, those from the Earth Immortal Realm highly valued propriety, and no one would frivolously forego manners.
After inviting Wukong to be seated, he had Golden Horn and Silver Horn, the two apprentices, serve up the finest Fleeting Mist Cloud Tea.
Wukong chatted idly with Laozi for a short while before getting to the heart of the matter.
Wukong said, "My ties with Tathagata are significant. Now that I am about to attain sanctity, I need to resolve this greatest karma. However, that crafty Tathagata destroyed the Heavenly Dao Laws with the Seven Treasure Dharma Wheel and fled to the Chaotic World. I have come here to ask Supreme Elderly Lord how I might find Hong Jun Taoist Patriarch."
Hong Jun Taoist Patriarch had long ago bestowed a talisman to the Three Pure Ones, instructing that if Wukong came looking for him, this talisman should be given to Wukong, and it would lead Wukong to him.
Laozi laughed and said, "The Master has long foreseen this and has already decreed it. Just wait a moment. Golden Horn, go to the alchemy room and fetch that Purple Gold Talisman."
Golden Horn replied, "Yes."
Not daring to delay, Golden Horn hurriedly rushed to the alchemy room, retrieved the Purple Gold Talisman, and brought it to Laozi.
Laozi threw the talisman, and it landed in Wukong’s hand, saying, "You only need to consecrate this talisman and follow its lead, and it will take you to the Master."
Wukong was delighted in his heart, not expecting the task to be so simple; he clasped his hands in gratitude and said, "Thank you very much, Supreme Elderly Lord!"
Laozi responded with a smile, "No thanks are necessary!"
Though Wukong was eager, he also knew it would be improper to rush off right then, as it would be disrespectful to the kind host. Therefore, he suppressed his impatience and continued to converse casually with Laozi while sipping the Fleeting Mist Cloud Tea.
Seeing Wukong’s demeanor, Laozi knew of his anxiety. After all, who wouldn’t be eager when they are a step away from achieving sanctity? So he said, "As such, I won’t keep you any longer. The Chaotic World is dangerous; let me gift you a Nine Revolutions Heavenly Dao Saint Pill. No matter the injury, this pill will heal you thoroughly."
This Nine Revolutions Heavenly Dao Saint Pill was the most powerful elixir Laozi had ever created, taking ten thousand years to produce just one. It was a reserve against the perilous times to come, when battles might rage for months and even Heavenly Dao Saints could possibly perish. Naturally, the more such elixirs, the better.
Taken aback, Wukong declined, "I can’t accept it, I simply can’t! How can I accept such a precious gift from Supreme Elderly Lord?"
Laozi smiled and replied, "I have been practicing alchemy since Ancient Times, and have now produced eight of these pills. This one is for you, and there are still seven left. The day of completion for the ninth pill is within this century. Just take it, for you may well encounter great terrors like the Chaos Heaven Demon in the Chaotic World, and an inattentive moment could lead to your demise. Therefore, please do not be polite."
With that, Laozi poured a golden pill from his Purple Gold Gourd. As soon as the pill appeared, an incredibly rich fragrance wafted out, and both Golden Horn and Silver Horn, upon smelling it, felt their mana surging within them.
Laozi then took a Jade Vase, placed the pill inside, and only then did the medicinal aroma dissipate, leaving Golden Horn and Silver Horn looking ruefully.
Wukong thought, "This pill must be the most extraordinary treasure between heaven and earth; nothing could possibly compare!"
A Saint’s pill, crafted with ten thousand years of painstaking labor and incorporating countless natural treasures, could not be ordinary.
Wukong accepted the pill and said, "Thank you, Supreme Elderly Lord."
Laozi laughed, "Go now, I wouldn’t want to delay the moment of your sanctification."
Wukong laughed heartily, clasped his fists in salute to Laozi, somersaulted out of the Jade Purity Heaven, and went to seek Hong Jun Taoist Patriarch.
