Charles clicked his tongue in annoyance when he saw Kailen .

Kailen had logged into the virtual universe again with a different appearance .

Each of his friends had also done the same thing ,quickly logging into the virtual universe the moment he sent a message to them from the virtual universe that he was online.

Currently they were seated in the hall of a beautiful Villa the Long Hai training Hall had given to Kailen in the virtual universe.

Kailen chuckled at Charles’ words .

" Dude if you miss him, just say it and stop spouting nonsense " Micheal chimed in from the side, slapping the back of Charles’ head.

Charles revealed a feigned pained expression on his face as he stared at Micheal like he wanted to kill the fellow.

" Oh, how the tables have turned . Hehehe"

Arrie’s head was currently resting on Kailen’s laps. She was also listening to some catchy pop song that had been making waves recently in the galaxy.

"Say Arrie, care to tell us why you’ve been all smiles recently. Kailen ,you visited her didn’t you?"

Micheal stared at Kailen with a knowing expression😉.

Arrie’s cheeks turned a shade of deep pink as she stared at Micheal with a shy expression,giving the duo all the confirmation they needed .

Charles was the one to reply this time.

" What , you think we wouldn’t notice. You’ve been all moody since he left and suddenly you start smiling and listening to pop songs again. Do you think we won’t be able to connect the dots"

Kailen laughed when he noticed the shade of pink on Arrie’s cheeks.

" Why are you guys trying to roast my sweetheart and I ?"

Arrie snorted playfully " Hmph! I’ll tell you what Kai, They are jealous.Their ladies are currently not around.

Phila is currently at the Ngonzola family managing some stuff and Phoebie is overseeing a research project my mum_who is currently in seclusion to break through to the Ascendant level,started with some alien researchers. These guys are technically starved, lacking feminine company"

Kailen revealed an ’Oh’ expression ,acting surprised.

Of course he was already aware of what was going on with his friends including Phoebe and Phila_since his shadow creatures were protecting them from the shadows.

However he couldn’t reveal that to Arrie ,Charles and Micheal as they had made it clear that they wanted to rely on themselves to grow stronger.

He could only protect them from the shadows_stepping in only when they were faced with a life or death crisis they had no way out of.

" Sorry guys. Nothing beats the warm company of your woman "

Kailen kissed Arrie in front of the duo.

" Damn man.Screw you bro"

" Get a room"

Seeing the expressions on the faces of their friends , Kailen and Arrie couldn’t hold in their laughter.

In fact Kailen was even trashing around on the floor at this point.

Micheal and Charles looked like they had eaten a pile of dung.

The duo joined in on the laughter,seeing Kailen and Arrie ’s antics.

The atmosphere soon died down as the group talked about mundane things.

Kailen also informed them that he was the famed Crimson Devil.

Surprisingly ,these guys were not too shocked. After all, they had grown accustomed to the ridiculous feats of Kailen.

Finally Arrie and the duo informed him of their decision to travel to Antartica to train and break through to the Ascendant level.

"The gap between us keeps getting wider and wider. As your friends , we cannot let you carry your burdens and the weight of the planet all alone"

Micheal said .

Charles nodded , massaged his hands slightly and added "Honestly we feel more pressured to break through to the ascendant level after finding you are the famed Crimson Devil who’s identity everyone is trying to uncover"

Arrie nodded " Only by breaking into the Ascendant level can we step on the universe stage, seek our own opportunities and grow strong enough to shoulder the responsibility of protecting our loved ones with you"

Kailen was already aware about their decision to travel to Antartica ,however he was genuinely touched when they told him their reason.

These guys... were always thinking about his well being .

Kailen sighed deeply.

He felt very emotional.

With the most sincere voice,he replied .

" You know guys... To others you may be my close friends but to me you are my family"

His friends could feel the weight of sincerity in his words as he spoke.

" I feel so fortunate to have met wonderful people such as yourselves. There’s this saying that there is a friend that sticks closer than a mother or whatever they say... You guys fit that saying very well. I feel so fortunate to have met you guys"

Ignoring the soft expressions on their faces ,Kailen stood up and performed a polite bow to his friends .

" Thank you all for standing with me , for being loyal and selfless friends. I do not take any of you for granted"

The trio were completely surprised . They had never expected this .

They were very touched with Kailen’s gesture and felt very warm.

Kailen was extremely cold and merciless to those who crossed him. But when it came to his loved ones , he was equally kind ,generous and protective .

What he had just done had reminded them perfectly of that .

He knew when to repay a debt of blood an when t be grateful to those who were faithful and loyal to him.

Honestly, they all felt they owed Kailen more than he owed them.

" When I met you Kailen ,I was a man who could barely protect my family. I was on the run from a sect that wanted me dead. My family was not safe my wife was living a life of constant fear ,as her brother wanted her dead. Most of all, our daughter was not safe "

Everyone stared at Micheal as he walked forward ,tapped Kailen’s shoulder and looked him in the eye with utmost sincerity and warmth.

" Not only did you save my life more than once , you saved my wife and daughter too. After that, you gave me a chance to grow stronger when we met in the university .

Everything changed for my family and I after that and here we are. If there’s anyone who should be thanking you ,it should be me"

Micheal turned to look at Arrie and Charles .

" And I’m sure those two also feel the same way"

Arrie and Micheal nodded warmly.

" Absolutely "

" Yep"

Arrie walked forward and held his hand .

" You all know of my past. Everything changed for the better when I met Helena , but things took a turn for the best when I met you,Kai.

If there’s a woman that is more loved by a man than I am, they don’t exist. No offense to you and your ladies guys"

Charles and Micheal chuckled " Non taken"

Charles added " You know , I’ve always been the kind to be disinterested in things. I felt bored. I was branded a genius by my family from a young age.

All my contemporaries couldn’t compare to me. Didn’t feel the need to push myself to my limits.

It was also a very lonely life too. No friends to walk shoulder to shoulder with,until I met Kailen and that led to meeting the rest of you. Even after finding out who my dead father was,you didn’t shy away from me ,criticise me or call me the son of a murderer or psycopath along with the rest of the world. Instead you guys stood by me. Honestly, I couldn’t ask for a more better family, and I can’t thank Kailen enough for opening the door for me to meet you and the others"
