Chapter 53: Chapter 42 It Would Be Nice If This Time Could Last Forever (Combined)

The Royal Capital of the Azure Garden Dukedom is adjacent to the Grant Sea.

Such a geographical location offers the advantage of warm winters and cool summers, with a pleasant climate. The downside, however, is the unpredictable weather.

Often, the sun could be shining brightly one moment, and a few minutes later, a downpour could start—or vice versa.

Silvia left her high heels on the pebble beach. Her pale feet trod on the moist sand, still damp from the rain. Occasionally, a refreshing sea breeze from the Grant Sea would cause her long white dress to sway.

Now and then, little shrimps and crabs would peek out from around her feet, prompting Silvia to crouch down and playfully reach out to them.

Shiayar stood not far behind Silvia, silently admiring the tranquil scenery.

After completing the Brunestadt family’s coming-of-age trial, his status within the family had risen considerably. He was no longer a dispensable member by marriage but had qualified to enter the family’s management echelons.

With Elder Norton’s tacit approval, Shiayar could now take Silvia out of the Grand Ducal Residence openly and with dignity by submitting an application within the family, rather than having to sneak around.

On his shoulder, Crimson had transformed into a small astral spirit body. Like a fiery red dumpling, it flickered irregularly with the fluctuations of Shiayar’s spiritual power.

As Shiayar’s 3rd Soul Pact partner, Crimson was different from his previous two.

Silver and Shiny both had a longstanding emotional foundation with Shiayar, so their soul compatibility was naturally high. As master and servants, they could exert their perfect strength at any time.

However, Shiayar’s pact with Crimson had only just been formed, and their compatibility still needed time to harmonize.

So now, whenever Shiayar had a free moment, he would summon Crimson to foster their bond and deepen their mutual understanding.

Fortunately, their compatibility wasn’t poor. Perhaps due to their similar origins, their Soul Pact compatibility rapidly soared after just a few days together.

This made Silver, who had lost her exclusive spot on Shiayar’s left shoulder, somewhat jealous. She began to wonder if she had invited a wolf into her own den.

As for Shiny, he felt even more like crying but had no tears to shed.

Great, both the left and right spots are taken—where does that leave me? Even after developing the brand new Explosive Clay tactic, am I still unable to escape my status as a mere tool monkey...?

PATTER—

PATTER—

Silvia ran over, splashing through the puddles, and placed a small hermit crab, retreated into its shell, into Shiayar’s palm.

The little hermit crab seemed shy. It didn’t dare to peek out from Shiayar’s palm, quietly blowing bubbles.

Just then, Shiayar heard Silvia’s exclamation—not a word, but merely a prolonged intake of breath.

Shiayar followed Silvia’s gaze and saw a rainbow arching across the sky, which had just cleared after the rain. Its vibrant colors were mirrored on the azure surface of the Grant Sea.

The brilliant, multicolored bridge of light connected the sea and the sky—

Like the mythological Tower of Babel, said to have pierced heaven and earth, forged by the monumental deeds of mortals.

Silvia dipped her finger in seawater and wrote on Shiayar’s palm, "I want to go see what’s on the other side of the sea."

The arc of the rainbow reflected in her amethyst eyes, casting a lustrous glow like a blossoming starry river.

"The other side of the Grant Sea... that should be the Golden Plains, within the territory of the Princes’ Alliance."

"I visited there when I was twelve. It’s said that thousands of years ago, a golden dragon that had transcended Legendary Rank died of old age on those plains."

"Thus, to this day, the creatures of that plain are still protected by a golden blessing."

Shiayar held Crimson, who was in its astral spirit body state—like a small dumpling—and calmly spoke.

Silvia listened attentively.

Only after Shiayar finished speaking did she pick up a nearby journal and pen and begin to write.

Since that night, she had grown accustomed to communicating through writing rather than speech.

Silvia adapted quickly. In her past, she’d had few opportunities to converse with anyone outside her closest circle, and those few interactions often felt strange and distant.

After finishing, she held up the journal for Shiayar to see. It asked, "Do all giant dragons really like to kidnap princesses from kingdoms?"

Shiayar couldn’t help but smile. "That’s pure prejudice. Or rather, it’s a clumsy motive that wandering poets assign to dragons they cast as villains, just to create conflict in their stories."

"Mature pureblood giant dragons are equivalent to Legendary beings, and not every dragon is male. Kidnapping princesses offers them no benefit whatsoever."

Silvia nodded seriously, then held up her journal again. The strokes of her writing seemed to dance with a playful bounce. It read, "What about airships? Do they really exist?"

Shiayar summoned the little white ferret. "With current technology, they probably only exist in the theoretical designs of engineers from the Steam Association."

"However... in the future, as magictech technology advances, airships will be widely used in the military."

Silver activated Moon Reading, conjuring an image before Silvia’s eyes.

Rows of majestic, giant airships moved slowly in formation high in the sky. They were equipped with metallic cannon ports all around. Intricate energy-gathering magictech arrays were engraved inside, ready to deliver an energized cannonade at any moment.

And emblazoned on each airship’s outer shell was the emblem of a soaring black eagle—a design exhibited by the Fresta Empire’s Military Department at the recent national foundation celebration.
