Chapter 49: Chapter 40: The Qualifications of a Successful King (Two in One)

The Silver Spirit race resided in a valley deep within the mountains on the outskirts of the capital of Azure Garden Dukedom.

A lengthy vein of Mithril ran through the entire valley, with nearly half of the vein exposed on the surface.

As such, when Shiayar passed through the warning magictech array set up by the Brunestadt family on the perimeter and arrived in the valley, his emanated spiritual power detected the abundant and rich free metal Elements that filled the atmosphere.

This was also the preferred habitat for the Silver Spirit race, a metal Element species.

If I were to scoop up this entire vein of Mithril with a ’Spatial Pocket’, perhaps Ennie and I wouldn’t have to worry about Extraordinary resources until we reach 6-Ring...

Shiayar pursed his lips, cautiously burying this bold idea in his heart.

Setting aside whether Shiny’s Spatial Pocket could fit an entire Mithril vein, those high-level alert magictech arrays were no mere decorations.

If he really did that, he would likely have the entire Brunestadt family gunning for his life.

However, if he completed his rookie tasks someday, he might actually hit a big jackpot...

After all, if the Ancient Dukedom Azure Garden no longer existed in the future, keeping the vein around didn’t seem to serve any purpose. It might as well benefit me, the last descendant of the Brunestadt family.

Shiayar reined in his stray thoughts and then continued to extend his spiritual perception further outward.

Before long, Shiayar sensed several other lifeforms’ spiritual fluctuations within the reach of his perception.

These fluctuations carried no hostility, only a tinge of curiosity.

Shiayar followed the direction of these spiritual senses and soon saw several petite Silver Spirits, their bodies surrounded by a faint luminescence, peeking curiously in his direction.

Compared to the Sovereign-to-be Silver Spirit from the Elder’s previous assessment, the Silver Spirits before Shiayar were much smaller in both size and aura, clearly still in their juvenile or developmental stages.

Unlike the former’s dignified dominance, these younger Silver Spirits possessed a more delicately refined grace.

Separated by a dozen meters, they sensed each other through spiritual perception.

This was Shiayar’s consideration for choosing his 3rd Soul Pact Pet Beast.

At the same time, it was also the consideration these Silver Spirits made for their future Beastmaster.

In the Western Continent, the relationship between Beastmasters and Pet Beasts is complex.

Humans and certain humanoid races can become Beastmasters by cultivating spiritual power and opening a Soul Pact Space.

In turn, Pet Beasts can enjoy various benefits from the Soul Pact Space through a contract with a Beastmaster.

Generally speaking, contracts between Pet Beasts and Beastmasters are consensual and mutually beneficial processes.

Beastmasters can rely on Pet Beasts to obtain Extraordinary power to strengthen themselves.

Meanwhile, Pet Beasts can accelerate their own long growth periods through contracts and also recover and heal in the Soul Pact Space when severely wounded, enjoying a supply of Extraordinary materials from their Beastmasters.

Normally, the strength progression of contracted Pet Beasts far exceeded that of their wild counterparts of the same age.

But as with any generality, exceptions exist.

Among humans, it is not uncommon to find those who, blinded by the pursuit of power, force Pet Beasts into contracts...

And among wild Pet Beasts, there are certainly those who view Beastmasters with enmity, or even rely on their own might to use the Soul Pact as a mere tool and establish a disordered kingdom ruled by a Lost Kingdom Beast King.

Of course, as the guardian race of the Brunestadt family, the Silver Spirits naturally do not resist contracting with members of the Brunestadt family...

But, much like marriage, the quality of a contractual partner directly determines one’s development for the rest of their life, so the selection process is naturally undertaken with great care.

Their spiritual contact lasted for a moment.

Soon, friendly emotional fluctuations were transmitted through their spiritual perception.

This indicated that the juvenile Silver Spirits had recognized Shiayar and were willing to enter into a contract with him.

As Element lifeforms inherently attuned to nature, the Silver Spirits’ senses were even sharper than those of humans.

Consequently, they easily sensed that the Soul strength of this black-haired youth was far more profound and fiery than that of previous Beastmasters who had come before.

Or rather, compared to Shiayar, those carefully selected elites of the Brunestadt family instantly became insignificant.

With no comparison, there would be no hurt. Whether it’s a Pet Beast or a Beastmaster, who wouldn’t want their contract partner to be as strong as possible?

This world is after all realistic and materialistic, and for the Pet Beasts, Shiayar as a Beastmaster was truly the very essence of tall, rich, and handsome.

On the other hand, Shiayar was also carefully selecting his contract partner.

In his mind, waves of azure information were fluctuating, revealing the specific attribute panels of these Silver Spirits before him.

[Species Name: Silver Spirit ’Silver Armor Evolution Type’]

[Category: Element Species]

[Attribute: Metal]

[Stage: Growth Period]

[Soul Pact Status: None]

[Combat Level: 26 (2nd Order)]

[Species Rank: High-Level Sovereign (4th Order)]

[Pet Beast skills: Elementalization (Expert), Rapid Healing (Expert), Slash (Proficient), Elements Fluctuation (Proficient), Metal Strengthening (Proficient), Super Hardening (Proficient)]

An excellent attribute panel, befitting their High-Level Sovereign species rank. Merely in their growth period, they had already reached a combat level equivalent to the later stages of the Extraordinary Order.
