Chapter 46: Chapter 37: Bearing the Name of Shiayar, I Must Not Lose (Two in One)_3

Even Shiayar was watching with fervent eyes.

It wasn’t because of the old man’s talk of the Brunestadt family’s glory or any of that motivational drivel. Having spent less than a month in the Echo of History, and aside from becoming somewhat acquainted with Silvia, Shiayar felt no sense of belonging to this ducal family, let alone any sense of family honor. He was simply envious. This was, after all, a high-level Sovereign type. To put it in perspective, even after Silver had its abilities completed by Amaterasu, its current Species Rank had only been raised to mid-level Sovereign... Shiny’s Species Rank was Low-Level Sovereign. In the highest-grade black market in the Empire Capital, a young high-level Sovereign type Pet Beast was an item of immense value with virtually no supply; each appearance would fetch an astronomical price of over 100,000 Gold Coins. One hundred thousand Rhine Gold Coins was a sum Shiayar currently couldn’t produce in the short term, not unless he sold off all his holdings in the Black Lily District—but that would be like killing the goose that laid the golden eggs, a purely loss-making deal.

Although, with his point-adding ability, he was confident he could train even a lowly Awakening Rank flower sparrow to a level not inferior to an average high-level Sovereign type Pet Beast—to say that Species Rank didn’t matter would be a complete con job. A higher Species Rank meant stronger base stats, rarer and more powerful racial skills, a higher growth cap, and greater combat power at the same rank. Consequently, among Pet Beasts eligible for contracts, choosing one with the highest possible Species Rank was a principle that everyone, from Legendary to Apprentice Beastmasters, had to follow. As for that master of toxic motivation who famously said, "There are no useless Pet Beasts, only useless Beastmasters," the grass on his grave was already two meters tall.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!—

In the center of the forest, within the demarcated trial area, the anguished cries of Pet Beasts and Beastmasters could be heard from time to time.

Although they were all members of the grand ducal family and considered elites on the continent, their standards were still somewhat inferior compared to the elite talents selected by St. Roland Academy from across the entire Empire.

Currently, most of the youths participating in the coming-of-age ceremony were high-segment First Circle, while a minority were 2-Ring, and most of those had only recently reached that rank.

Although the Silver Spirit wasn’t going all out and received no bolstering from a Beastmaster, it was still too difficult for these First Circle and 2-Ring Beastmasters to endure thirty seconds against a Sovereign-to-be.

Half an hour later, aside from a few intermediate Beastmasters who had barely passed the trial using special abilities, everyone else had failed.

The successful ones looked visibly relieved by their luck, while those who had failed looked ashen-faced.

For those Beastmasters who relied entirely on their family, not passing the trial meant their futures were essentially predetermined, with no possibility of further advancement.

For a time, the lively atmosphere cooled down.

After all, no amount of fantasizing or motivational speeches could withstand the harsh reality.

On another side, with Shiayar, who was unconsciously isolated by the other clan members due to his close dealings with Silvia:

"CHIRP! CHIRP! CHIRP! (Master, I really can’t stand watching these rookies pecking at each other anymore!)"

"CHIRP! CHIRP! CHIRP! (Master, Master! Remember, you promised to let me fight this time!)"

After being nagged by the little snub-nosed monkey for a long time, Shiayar finally decided to send it out.

"Go on then."

"Remember, you’re just trying out the new combination skill, don’t make too much of a scene."

"CHIRP! CHIRP! (Leave it to me, Master!)" Shiny nodded excitedly.

Then, it rummaged through its Spatial Pocket.

After a moment of deliberation, the little snub-nosed monkey pulled out a small, custom-designed piece of clothing.

It had to be said that while Shiayar was stingy as a Beastmaster, he was definitely competent when it came to caring for his Pet Beasts—he often told them bedtime stories.

He could reel off stories like "The Fourth Village Brawl and the Big Battle of the Eyes" and "Eastern Sea Mountain Bandit King" with ease.

Both Shiny and Silver were enthralled by these tales, frequently pestering Shiayar to order custom battle attire for them.

As for the purpose of the battle attire, whether it was for actual combat support or something else, that remained unknown.

The outfit Shiny now held was one Shiayar had ordered from his own clothing store after caving to his Pet Beasts’ persistent requests—a battle uniform.

It was a naval commander’s uniform, complete with a cape on its back emblazoned with two large, flamboyantly written characters: "Justice."

"MEEP, MEEP~ (Don’t screw this up. Don’t embarrass me and Master.)" Perched on Shiayar’s shoulder, the little white ferret slightly opened its eyes and twitched its fluffy tail.

Fighting was a job for the underling. As Shiayar’s main Pet Beast, it only needed to focus on looking pretty.

"CHIRP! CHIRP, CHIRP! (Don’t worry, Big Sis Silver!)" Shiny declared, its eyes resolute as it leaped into the combat arena.

Then, with its small body, it faced the massive Silver Spirit head-on.

The battle uniform draped over its shoulders, and the cape bearing the two large characters for "Justice," fluttered and rustled in the wind.

"CHIRP! CHIRP! CHIRP! (Bearing Master Shiayar’s name, I absolutely cannot lose!)"

"Are you overdoing it a bit?" Shiayar muttered, lines of exasperation appearing on his forehead as he watched the spectacle.
