Chapter 37: Chapter 37: Mana!

They all laid down exhausted, breathing very heavily.

"Oo God please I hope this works!" Azreal thought to himself as he added. "System! Please I need you!".

Immediately the system screen appeared in front of him, cracking and a ___ message all over.

[___ System rebooting.....]

[Rebooting complete...]

[Azrael! Thank the goddess you are alive, you saved me, ooo thank you. It was getting a bit too dark over at the other side]

"Wow! I really thought I lost you, thank God I decided to try!" Azrael responded.

[Wait how did you know that having so much fun with these ladies would have restored me back?]

"Well! I just thought of it, seeing as you a physco obsessed with sex and was also given to me by the goddess of lust. Let’s just say I kinda both two and two together!"

[Very well my boy, but that won’t entirely do the trick,] the system side followed by rolls of messages.

"Wait wait what? Everything is drained?" Azreal asked.

[Yes>]

"Ok fair enough, but when did I become the fallen heir?"

[Well just now that all the upgrade has been made! Listen Azrael there are things that you do not know and they are far greater that you] the system continued.

[Everything you have been told since your birth is a lie, they are just using, the school, these girls you see around you, even me, we are all lies, we are just following orders]

"A lie? Orders? From who? Why? What the hell is happening?" He fooled a series of questions.

[I do not have all you answers. Or let’s just say I do but I can not give them all to you right now, all I can say is Azrael do not trust anyone not even me!]

"Wait wait! So! If you all are following orders why are you then telling me this, why are you helping me? Doesn’t that mean you are breaking protocols?"

[Yes it means exactly that, and the punishment is death. Yes I would be send to eternal death if they ever find out. And I’m helping you because you’ve showed me that humans are worth fighting for, they are worth saving]

[I followed their orders before I understood the full weight of what was about to happen, Azreal if they succeed it would be the end of everything and I just can’t see that happening, the voice have spoken hasn’t it, the one over the sky promising death to all as revenge to something they did?]

"Yes the voice spoke just a while ago!" He responded.

[It means there isn’t so much time left, get your ass up let’s find a way to get all mana required]

Azrael immediately got up and started to dress. "Where are you headed too master?" One of the girls asked.

"I’m going into the town for a while, you two and the others set up things around here before I get back. And stay safe." He responded as he immediately left.

"Hmmm that was strange," Eliza said to the other girl.

"Well Azrael has always been a fine strange Strong young man!" She responded as they both boost into laughter.

. The warm glow of lanterns flickered against the evening sky, but something felt... off.

Azrael frowned. The town should have been peaceful at this hour, but instead, the streets were chaotic.

People were running back and forth, carrying bags of supplies, herding their families into shelters, or arming themselves with whatever weapons they could find. There was an unspoken panic in the air, and Azrael had no idea what was causing it.

He reached out, stopping one of the men rushing past him.

"Hey, what’s going on?" Azrael asked.

The man barely glanced at him before shoving him aside. "Out of my way!" he snapped, before disappearing into the crowd.

Azrael huffed. "Well, that was rude."

He continued walking, taking in the sight of frantic townspeople. His eyes landed on a blacksmith’s shop at the edge of the town square.

The shop owner, a bald, burly man with a thick beard, was shouting at customers who were scrambling to buy weapons from his display. Swords, axes, bows, and knives were being snatched up at an alarming rate.

Azrael’s gaze drifted to the weapons. His body was weak, and his system wasn’t responding. He couldn’t rely on his usual magic-based combat. He needed a weapon.

[Yes, you are right.]

The system’s voice startled him. It had been silent for hours, but now it spoke again, weaker than usual. He frowned but ignored the feeling of unease.

He joined the line of customers, waiting behind three men who were arguing over a large broadsword. When it was finally his turn, he stepped forward.

"Good day, sir," he greeted.

The blacksmith scoffed. "Good day? Boy, do you have any idea what’s happening? Hell is about to break loose, and you’re here making small talk?" He shook his head in frustration. "Just pick what you need and go."

Azrael raised a brow. "Alright, alright. No need to be so rude," he muttered. He sighed, glancing at the weapons on the table. His fingers brushed over a well-polished sword with a sharp edge.

"How much for this?" he asked.

"143 gold coins."

Azrael’s eye twitched. 143 gold coins? That was ridiculously expensive.

He placed the sword back and picked up an axe and a short knife. "What about these?"

"100 gold coins each."

Azrael groaned. "Do you have anything cheaper? Maybe something for 59 silver coins?"

The blacksmith laughed, a deep belly laugh that made the other customers turn. "Hah! You’re hilarious. You could’ve just said you were broke." He leaned down and pulled out a few rusted, bent, and chipped weapons from beneath the table. "Here. This is all your silver can buy."

Azrael wrinkled his nose. "These wouldn’t even cut through a loaf of bread, let alone a monster."
