Chapter 753

Chapter 753: Chapter 753

Negotiation.

This word sounded rather novel to Yang Fan.

Especially given the circumstances in which it appeared.

The feeling was akin to eating beef noodles with a knife and fork—extremely out of place.

"Alright then, let’s negotiate. I’d like to hear what you want to discuss with me," Yang Fan said.

The seemingly refined young man adjusted his glasses with two fingers and spoke, "I know the gist of the matter—Brother, you want to get back the money that was swindled from you, right?"

Yang Fan looked at him with a detached expression and didn’t respond.

Wasn’t that obvious enough?

The young man nodded and continued, "Once money enters our pockets, we typically don’t have a reason to take it back out. But let’s see if this works for you: I’ll have our Fifth Sister spend half a month with you, just as promised earlier. Consider that as an act of good faith. Let’s both take a step back and avoid blowing this situation out of proportion—how does that sound?"

"She disgusts me now. I don’t want her—I just want the money!" Yang Fan shook his head and replied.

Wang Daqiang had suffered enough losses from women; if this woman returned now, he would undoubtedly harbor a grudge.

Money felt far more practical.

"I understand, I completely understand. How about I offer you another one instead?" The young man said generously, "We might not excel in other areas, but when it comes to women, we have all types. Whatever you want, just name it."

"Not interested!" Yang Fan replied decisively.

The smile on the young man’s face gradually disappeared. "Brother, are you really going to be this disrespectful? Around here in Sanping, no one has ever dared to disregard Boss Xu’s authority. I suggest you think carefully about your options."

"Sure, you might have some skills. I’ve heard you’re pretty good in a fight. But at the end of the day, you’re only one person. No matter how strong you are, you’re still just one person. Accept our terms, and we’ll all be happy. Why cause yourself unnecessary trouble?"

"Some say I’m stubborn, others say I’m crazy. I don’t know how much face your Boss Xu has, but what I do know is that the dignity I’ve lost is worth more than gold. So no, I won’t accept your terms—I only recognize my own," Yang Fan shook his head and said.

"The money I’ve lost, plus the expenses I incurred tracking people down, and compensation for the beating I just took—I believe you should honestly reimburse all of it. That’s the attitude you ought to have," he added.

The young man laughed impudently. "Brother, are you joking with me?"

At that moment, a shout suddenly rang out from behind them.

"Boss!"

Everyone, including the young man, turned to look toward the sound.

A man with a bruised and swollen face wearing a gray suit and a massive gold watch limped into the room.

His movements were stiff—not as if he walked of his own volition, but as though someone had dragged him in.

Yang Fan glanced at the embroidered shoes walking ahead of this man.

Its ability seemed far greater than he had anticipated.

Not only had it completed the task smoothly, but it had done so with remarkable speed.

"Boss, what happened to you?" The young man with glasses hurried forward upon seeing his boss in such a state.

Boss Xu pushed the young man aside, his naturally fierce eyes fixed on the calmly seated Yang Fan by the bed. He ground his teeth and asked, "Was this your doing?"

"What did I do?" Yang Fan feigned ignorance and asked.

Boss Xu’s gaze flickered uncertainly as he covered his bloodied mouth with his hand before nodding heavily and saying, "Brother, I messed with the wrong person today—I concede. Tell me your terms for resolving this."

The room’s occupants were bewildered.

No one knew how their boss had suddenly taken such a beating. Moreover, the apparent culprit seemed to be this young man sitting quietly by the bed—and possibly an unseen accomplice?

"You should concede. You were the one who tricked me in the first place. If you didn’t, would I be at fault?" Yang Fan said, exasperated.

"The solution is straightforward—just give me the money. I’ve already told your subordinate: the money you swindled, the money I spent tracking people down, plus... since your guys just attacked me, you should at least chip in for my medical expenses, shouldn’t you?"

Everyone was rendered speechless.

Wait, who attacked whom again?

There were two unconscious bodies still lying on the ground, and someone waiting outside with a broken arm.

Yet here Yang Fan was—completely unscathed—claiming to have been attacked. Did he have no shame?

"Why are you all looking at me like that? Am I wrong? You all wanted to hit me, didn’t you? The problem is, you’re all spineless weaklings with no strength, and I ended up beating you instead. But you must’ve gone to school at some point, right? Surely you know one simple principle: for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. When I hit you, it equates to you hitting me," Yang Fan said earnestly.

Everyone: ...

They’d seen shameless people before, but never someone so utterly and unabashedly shameless.

And he actually dared to use such a reasoning method.

Boss Xu raised his hand to silence his muttering subordinates and said to Yang Fan, "Fine, name your price. I’ll pay!"

"Boss Xu, you’re a generous man, but math isn’t my strong suit. Do me a favor and calculate it for me," Yang Fan said cheerfully. "And make sure you calculate accurately—otherwise, you might end up paying extra medical bills, which could be limitless in amount."

"I’ll give you Fifty Thousand. That should be enough, right?" Boss Xu replied.

"Let’s see... swindled money, expenses incurred, medical costs... Hmm... Yeah, that seems about right," Yang Fan muttered to himself before agreeing, "Alright then, give me the money and we’ll settle this."

"Give me ten minutes—I’ll have someone bring you the cash," Boss Xu said.

"It’s just ten minutes—I can wait," Yang Fan said, then looked at the crowd behind Boss Xu. "Why are you all still blocking the way? Your boss already made his decision. Are you all feeling disgruntled?"

"Clear the room," Boss Xu commanded.

"Boss, this punk hits pretty hard—are you sure..." the young man with glasses tried to persuade him.

"It’s settled. Out!" Boss Xu snapped with a stern expression.

His speech was slurred, and it seemed that he’d lost several teeth, which made his tone hollow and hissed.

Seeing their boss’s determination, the young man led the others out.

The room instantly became much quieter, and Yang Fan’s view suddenly felt much more open.

"May I ask which school or sect you’re associated with? If my guess is correct, the one who just attacked me should be the little ghost, right?" Boss Xu asked, keeping his expression neutral.

Yang Fan feigned surprise, "Boss Xu, you’re quite knowledgeable."

"With such abilities, Brother, it seems a waste to use them against ordinary folks like us. What do you say we discuss another business opportunity?" Boss Xu suggested.

Yang Fan asked in astonishment, "Given our current relationship, you still want to talk business?"

"Businessmen focus on interests. If the profit is large enough, losing a few teeth doesn’t matter—it’s not a big deal," Boss Xu replied openly.
