Chapter 621
Chapter 621: Chapter 621
After Yang Fan’s persuasion, Wang Daqiang finally gave up on the idea of killing Lu Qiuyang.
The two hailed a taxi to Antique Street thereafter.
As midnight approached, the night was as deep as water. Even Xin’an, known as the busiest street, was deserted at this time. Apart from the flickering lamps, there were only the dimly lit street lights.
Places for revelry like bars and those antique pawnshops had all closed up shop.
"Kuaiyi Pawnshop, Fanzi, do you think it’s this shop?" Wang Daqiang pointed across the street to a shop and whispered to Yang Fan.
Yang Fan’s eyes gleamed with vigilance as he scanned the surroundings, then nodded, "It’s that one. Hu Yu said that Lu Qiuyang normally lives in the shop, but the security measures seem well in place, it looks like we can’t get in."
Kuaiyi Pawnshop was nestled among several antique stores, with the roller door already down and not a single window in sight, making a stealthy entry clearly impossible.
"Fanzi, let’s knock on the door and go in," Wang Daqiang suggested.
At that moment, Yang Fan shared the same thought, "Think of a good reason, or do we say nothing at all?"
He weighed the options, hesitating.
"I say we don’t speak at all, just smash the door," Wang Daqiang proposed.
Yang Fan nodded, "Let’s go!"
Wang Daqiang responded and took out a dagger, hiding it in the palm of his hand.
This was taken from Hu Yu and the other two; Yang Fan chose a short knife and Wang Daqiang picked a compact dagger.
The two approached the front of Kuaiyi Pawnshop and slammed their full strength into the roller door.
Bang bang bang.
The sudden noise echoed through the entire street, extra clear and loud.
Yet with such a commotion, there was no response from inside.
Only after the two repeatedly pounded for a few minutes did a cursing voice finally come from inside, "Who is it? Do you want to die? What do you want?"
Neither Yang Fan nor Wang Daqiang spoke, just continued banging on the door.
Bang bang bang!
"Who?!"
A roar came from inside, "Damn it, who is it?!"
Lu Qiuyang was very cautious, constantly asking who it was, yet showed no intention of opening the door.
Yang Fan patiently continued to knock.
Bang bang bang.

The sound of unlocking came from inside the roller door, which was then lifted about fifty to sixty centimeters.
"What’s the meaning of this, are you asking for trouble?" Half of a man’s face appeared below the roller door.
Without a word, Yang Fan kicked out, and as the man screamed in pain, he forcefully lifted the roller door.
As soon as the door was opened to a height that a person could pass through, Wang Daqiang leaped in like a cheetah.
His speed was fast, truly showing a hint of trained skill.
This guy seemed to have some hidden depths.
Yang Fan sighed and then rushed in after prying open the rolling shutter door.
In that brief moment, Wang Daqiang had already subdued the man inside.
The man was pinned to the ground by Wang Daqiang, with the sharp little dagger pressed against his neck.
"Lu Qiuyang?" Yang Fan asked.
"I’m not! Big brothers, you got the wrong person." The man shouted nervously.
He appeared to be a chubby man in his late thirties, with small eyes, a slightly plump face, and some stubble.
With the knife against his neck, his face was filled with anxiety and panic, and his body couldn’t help trembling.
Yang Fan lowered the rolling shutter door again, then turned on the lights inside the shop.
This was a rather ordinary pawnshop, with glass cabinets on both sides and a large solid wood tea table in the front. The items inside the cabinets didn’t seem to be of much value, mostly just banknotes and pawned mobile phones with expired terms.
After a quick glance, Yang Fan squatted down in front of the man, "You’re not Lu Qiuyang?"
"No, I’m just an employee here, hired by him," the man shouted urgently.
Yang Fan scrutinized the young man and asked, "How can you prove you’re not him?"
"Bro, my mobile phone is on the bed inside; have a look at it, you can find my ID in there," the chubby man said, "My name is Yao Wei, and I’ve always been working here. Our boss usually doesn’t stay in the shop, everyone around here knows that."
Yang Fan’s brows furrowed slightly as he walked into the interior of the pawnshop, found the mobile phone Yao Wei mentioned in a small room of only four or five square meters, and walked out with it, "The password."
"Six zeros!" Yao Wei blurted out without hesitation.
Yang Fan, with a grim face, unlocked the young man’s mobile phone and first scrolled through his WeChat.
There were no important messages. It seemed like this guy had a habit of deleting chat history. The chat interface only had a few messages sent by a handful of people from yesterday, talking about mostly irrelevant stuff.
Yang Fan then looked through the guy’s photo album and other places.
Indeed, there were photos of his ID, and his WeChat was registered under his real name; this kid really wasn’t Lu Qiuyang.
"Where does your boss usually hang around?" Yang Fan inquired.
Yao Wei explained, "During the day, he is mostly at the shop, but at night he goes to many places. Our boss has several mistresses, and I don’t know which one he might visit."
"You’d better remember a specific place for me, otherwise, I can’t guarantee I won’t get upset and slit your throat," Yang Fan said.
Yao Wei’s face turned pale with fright in an instant, "Big brother, although I don’t know where the boss went, I can call him over for you, that...that’s okay, right?"
"That’s fine, think carefully about what you need to say," Yang Fan nodded and replied.
If he had that realization, it wasn’t too bad.
"I’ll say, I’ll say there was a thief in the shop? Since we keep a lot of valuable things here, if our boss hears about this, he will definitely come over," Yao Wei racked his brains and said to Yang Fan.
Yang Fan asked, "Are you trying to get him to call the police?"
"No, no, our boss wouldn’t dare let the police help him catch people," Yao Wei said. "Just a few days ago, some items were forcibly acquired for the shop; our boss would be worried about the police discovering those suspicious goods."
Yang Fan didn’t respond immediately but instead asked, "Do you know Hu Yu?"
"Yes, that guy is a fellow employee at the shop like me," Yao Wei said. "Our boss ostensibly runs a pawnshop, but he does some not-so-legal business behind the scenes. The pawnshop doesn’t just serve customers; more importantly, it sells goods obtained from debtors."
This kid was quite forthcoming; Yang Fan didn’t even have to probe deeply, and he spilled everything like spilling beans.
Yang Fan asked sternly, "Do you know specifically what Hu Yu is doing?"
"Debt collection," Yao Wei said promptly. "The new guys usually start with that; I’ve done it before too."
