Chapter 592

Chapter 592: Chapter 592

After a good sleep and a hearty meal, Yang Fan went back to work.

There was still no movement from Old Zhou and Duan Linlin; he didn’t know how they were handling things.

Yang Fan didn’t ask, but instead, he rushed to the problematic villa with Gao Yunshan.

Once they arrived, Yang Fan then called Old Zhou.

It didn’t matter whether the two of them came or not, as long as he got some useful information.

Yang Fan hadn’t originally planned on bringing Gao Yunshan along; after all, he might not even be able to take care of himself, let alone pay attention to someone else. But Gao Yunshan insisted on accompanying him, saying if there was any need for her, she could just wait outside and Yang Fan could call her if anything happened.

In the end, Yang Fan couldn’t resist her persistent whining and nagging, so he reluctantly agreed.

A charming woman who knew how to act coy was indeed a man’s nemesis.

Old Zhou’s phone was connected.

Fortunately, Yang Fan didn’t hear any fuss over the phone from the two of them.

"Old Zhou, do you have any news? I’m here at the villa, and if there’s no news, I’m planning to go in and see how deep the waters are," Yang Fan said straightforwardly.

Old Zhou suddenly lowered his voice, "Fanzi, don’t rush in yet, Lin’er and I are at her previous client’s place right now, and not only does that house have some issues, but they are also quite severe."

"How severe?" Yang Fan asked.

Old Zhou sighed softly, "There was a death."

"Lin’er’s client got this house through a foreclosure auction. The previous owner had no children, bought the house on a loan, and then suddenly died at home."

"Even though the person died, the bank loan was still there, and because there were no heirs, the bank ended up taking the house."

Yang Fan frowned slightly, "It sounds pretty normal, just a sudden death, not due to any other cause."

"This house has trapped a string of people," Old Zhou snorted lightly, "After the client bought this house, things started going downhill for him, starting with a divorce followed swiftly by his business rapidly declining, and soon enough, he went completely bankrupt. Within just two months, the guy went from being a boss with an estate of five million to a penniless debtor with a debt of three million."

"The most mysterious part is that Lin’er’s client and his wife were childhood sweethearts with an extremely good relationship. It was only after moving into this villa that problems started occurring; there had never been a single quarrel in their ten years of marriage before then."

"Seems pretty off, right?"

"Indeed, it doesn’t seem quite right," Yang Fan nodded, "It looks like something is influencing it."

"You see, this is why professionals are different, spot on with just a guess," Old Zhou praised.

Yang Fan was speechless, "Stop buttering me up, I don’t buy that, and I’m not any professional anyway, so what happened next?"

"Well, the guy was so broke he had to sell everything, and that’s how the house ended up in Lin’er’s hands," Old Zhou continued, "What’s stupid is, after losing his wife and business, he still thought it was just his bad luck. He took out loans and donated a hundred thousand to temples, never considering it could be the house’s fault."

"It’s just like what we often say about desperate illnesses calling for desperate remedies. That guy was so broke he couldn’t stand it, and spent his days fortune-telling. Eventually, he met someone who told him that his situation was due to a Yin God latching onto him."

"It was only then that he finally figured out where the real problem lay and thought about the house. He then managed to find the coroner who handled the initial autopsy, and got some accurate information."

"That first owner of the house hadn’t died from sudden causes at all; she had been strangled by something, and her body was covered with bite marks. The coroners had experience and knew immediately where the problem was but chose to cover it up."

Yang Fan was startled, "They know where the problem lies, yet they choose not to solve it, but instead they cover it up?"

"This matter, well, it can’t be explained in just a few words, you just need to understand," Old Zhou said, "There are some things we don’t have to spell out too clearly. After all, we’re talking about houses worth over a million, someone has to bear the loss, right?"

Yang Fan understood.

Money from the bank is still money.

"I got it, I’ll go in and have a look," Yang Fan said.

He had an idea of what that thing’s identity was.

Nurturing is still nurturing; if anything is not nurtured well, problems are likely to arise.

Old Zhou hurriedly said, "Fanzi, hold on, wait for the two of us to come back before you go, I’ll go with you. What if you can’t handle it if you just rush in there?"

"I’m just going to take a look," Yang Fan said, "You guys take your time, you wouldn’t be of much help even if you came; I can barely take care of myself, let alone look after you two."

"Alright then, just be as careful as you can, and if you can’t handle it, run for it quickly," Old Zhou advised.

Yang Fan acknowledged with a sound and then hung up the phone.

Feeling the Inner Qi in his lower dantian, tinged with a chill, Yang Fan nodded at Gao Yunshan and strode toward the villa. If Mr. Fan were here, this matter probably wouldn’t be too troublesome and might even be resolved quite easily.

But Yang Fan wanted to train himself; he wanted to see if he could solve this kind of matter on his own without relying on others. The entity nurtured by humans, it had certain dependencies on people, it wasn’t much more powerful.

The chicken that always hides under the mother hen’s wings never grows up; growth necessarily first requires learning independence, a lesson Yang Fan had understood a long time ago.

If he couldn’t manage it, he would just call Mr. Fan later to ask for help.

The door to the villa was unlocked, and Yang Fan pushed it open and boldly turned on all the lights in the living room.

It was just beginning to get dark outside, yet it seemed like deep night had already fallen inside the villa, dark and cold.

This was clearly a house facing the sun.

Yang Fan sat down on a sofa in the first-floor living room, which was sprinkled with a bit of dust.

"Come out; let’s have a chat. I know you can surely understand me, let’s just have a simple chat," Yang Fan called out loudly, staring in the direction of the staircase.

"If you can’t even afford that much face, I’ll have to resort to less friendly measures. No objections to ’civility before force,’ I presume?"

The villa was silent.

But with Yang Fan’s Heavenly Eye Technique, changes were still perceptible.

From the second floor, wisps of green mist trickled down, like nimble vipers crawling and writhing on the walls, the railings, the staircase.

They were mist, but they acted like living creatures.

"So unwilling to give face, huh?" Yang Fan furrowed his brow and sharply raised it, "Why the killing? Otherwise, help me understand this issue, I’m somewhat curious."
