Chapter 571
Chapter 571: Chapter 571
Yang Fan’s very simple threat immediately loosened the lips of the Beautiful Young Woman.
She agreed to Old Zhou’s proposal, but right after she finished speaking, she suddenly wore a mocking expression and questioned Yang Fan, "I hear that many people in your line of work suffer from ’five defects and three deficiencies.’ Which one are you lacking in?"
The question was exceptionally impolite, and even somewhat malicious.
’Five defects and three deficiencies’ refers to being a widower, orphan, childless, disabled, and having issues with wealth, life, and authority.
Essentially, she was bluntly asking Yang whether his wife had died, he had lost his parents, or if he was disabled somewhere?
"I lack a lot of things, but the most pressing right now would probably be a woman. If you’re so interested in me and feel like lending a hand, I’d be very willing," Yang Fan said with a cold voice.
Her question had kindled his anger in an instant.
The rest could still be discussed, but he had indeed lost his parents at a young age, making him an orphan.
"Sorry, but I’m not interested in men like you," the Beautiful Young Woman said with a corner of her mouth curling into a disdainful smile.
Yang Fan snorted lightly. "Don’t flaunt your ignorance in front of me. We’re not forcing you to sell your house. If we come to an agreement, we talk; if not, we drop it. Insulting me, do you find that amusing? I can take care of the issues with your house, but I can also ensure you’ll never have peace in the future."
"I was just asking out of curiosity, what’s wrong with that? A lot of people have said the same thing to me," the Beautiful Young Woman murmured softly, "Where did I insult you? I didn’t mean to."
"Heh." Yang Fan laughed sarcastically.
So now he was to be considered the aggrieved party?
Old Zhou glanced over and suddenly said, "Fanzi, let it go. It’s not worth talking too much with this kind of person. I’ve lost interest in this house, let’s go."
"Wait, what do you mean by that!" the Beautiful Young Woman suddenly shouted anxiously.
"No meaning really, just that I think you have poor character and a messed-up mind, and I don’t want to do business with you. Your husband, having ended up with a woman like you, will sooner or later suffer from ’five defects and three deficiencies,’" Old Zhou said unreservedly, with a sneer in his eyes.
Afterward, he pulled Yang Fan and they left the complex directly.
The two of them walked around to the main entrance of Imperial Palace No. 8 and sat down on the curb across the street.
Old Zhou bought two bottles of water and handed one to Yang Fan, "Fanzi, when did you learn all that stuff?"
"Actually, I haven’t learned it; I was bluffing her," Yang Fan smiled and said.
Old Zhou’s face stiffened, and he immediately said loudly, "Damn it, then why the hell did you advise me to buy that house? Are you trying to set me up? Wait... or are you saying that there’s actually nothing wrong with that house? No, that woman’s attitude was quite clear; there are definitely problems with the house, and you saw them too."
"Sss... Are you playing dumb with me? Just be honest," he urged.
Yang Fan said with a light smile, "I do understand a bit, but not much, just about as much as I showed today. That’s about all I know regarding the problems with that house."
"Though I might not have the ability to solve the issues with that house, I could find someone to do it. I know two people who are very skillful at handling these kinds of problems, ensuring they can clean up that house thoroughly for you."
"Getting that house for one million is a good deal, right?"
Old Zhou nodded, "It’s almost cheaper by three or four hundred thousand, definitely a great deal. However, after hearing what you’ve said, I’m no longer that interested in the house. Spending a million and still feeling uneasy living there, that money would be spent in vain. I might as well just buy an apartment in any other complex."
Yang Fan nodded.
"Since you’ve already abandoned that idea, there’s no point in discussing it further. Let’s just keep watching and figure out what to do next."
As he spoke, Yang Fan looked around and then asked in a low voice, "Old Zhou, is it okay that we’re openly watching like this? Besides, when Bi Gang goes out and comes back, he’s definitely driving. Can we really get anything useful by just keeping watch here?"
"There’s no problem for now. We’ve only been watching for a short while. If we did this everyday, then certainly, there would be a problem. Let’s just observe for now and get to know some of Bi Gang’s habits. What time he leaves, what time he gets home, who he brings back, how many people protect him, and that sort of thing. Details decide success or failure, Fanzi. We’re not in a rush to take action. We’ve got to thoroughly understand this scumbag before we can do anything."
"We need to understand him as thoroughly as he understands himself, and that should be good enough."
Yang Fan: ...
This seemed a bit terrifying.
Yang Fan had to admit that he had previously misunderstood Old Zhou.
This guy was as cautious as ever in his actions.
The two sat there, casually chatting, for about ten minutes or so.
Two black SUVs turned on their indicators and drove over from the street on the east side.
"That kid’s here," Old Zhou suddenly perked up, speaking in a deep voice.
Yang Fan focused his gaze and saw that, aside from the two men sitting in the front row of each car, he couldn’t see anything else.
The tinting on the car windows was too dark, completely obscuring the view of the back.
"Bi Gang isn’t in the front row," Yang Fan said quietly.
He had taken a good look at the guy during his public display of affection yesterday, and was certain that Bi Gang wasn’t in the front row.
"One of those cars must be carrying his cronies and bodyguards. The defense is more extravagant than even some big shots," Old Zhou mocked.
Yang Fan nodded. The arrangement was indeed quite extravagant.
"Let’s head back. Looks like that’s all we’re going to see today," Yang Fan said.
Just then, a man suddenly dashed out from the side of the community gate. Wielding a large machete, he ferociously blocked the SUV’s path and yelled, "Bi Gang, you cur, get the hell out of the car!"
Yang Fan had noticed that man before. He had a stall about a hundred meters south of the main entrance of the community, in front of a shop, where he sold some creative and cultural trinkets.
The two black SUVs stopped, and five or six menacing, sturdy men who all looked like bad news got out. They swiftly surrounded the seemingly honest and naive man.
The machete in the man’s hand looked big and fierce, but, unless something unexpected happened, it seemed like this was the man’s first time doing something like this, his hand holding the knife trembling violently.
Bi Gang and a slender woman wearing glasses with short, ear-length hair were the last to get out of the car.
Seeing the woman, the emotions of the knife-wielding man exploded.
"Qi Wenjing, you whore, how could you do this to me? Huh! What did I ever do wrong to you? You actually run around for a scoundrel like him. Are you getting a kick out of it?" the knife-wielding man screamed angrily, his voice echoing down the entire street.
