Chapter 569: Chapter 569

No need for any verbal communication; just a glance and a gesture were all it took for Yang Fan and Old Zhou to reach a silent agreement on this point.

This must be the tacit understanding of seasoned drivers.

"We’re here!"

The words of the Beautiful Young Woman instantly turned the two sneaky fellows into the picture of propriety.

The villa’s door had a keypad lock. After the young woman entered the code and opened the door, she welcomed Yang Fan and Old Zhou inside.

The moment he stepped through that door, Yang Fan’s brows furrowed slightly.

It was clearly a decent house, yet it was shrouded in an eerie atmosphere.

He didn’t need to "Open Heavenly Eye" to be sure that there was definitely something off about the house.

He muttered to himself, and while turning away, he discreetly performed the Heavenly Eye Technique.

What met his eyes was a room seemingly enshrouded by a thin layer of spectral fog, obscuring many areas from clear view.

But this was just the vision granted by the Heavenly Eye Technique; normal people wouldn’t see this fog.

The interior of the house was impressive. Though it lacked furniture, it was evident that the previous owner had invested significantly in the decoration; there was nothing at all to criticize.

After taking a look around, Old Zhou said, "This house is quite nice, but why do I feel it’s so cold and gloomy?"

The Beautiful Young Woman explained, "A house that has been uninhabited for a long time tends to be like this. Once you move in, air it out, and it has some life in it, things will naturally get better. This is a sun-facing house, a villa; high-rise apartments definitely wouldn’t have this issue."

"It’s probably not just that, is it?" Yang Fan said, looking down at the blood footprints on the floor.

After glancing at Yang Fan, the Beautiful Young Woman then turned towards Old Zhou, "What else could it be? The house itself absolutely doesn’t have any problems. When we were decorating, we were planning to live in it ourselves. We spent nearly one hundred and fifty thousand dollars on the decoration alone."

"Then why not live in it after spending so much money?" Yang Fan asked with a scrutinizing look at the woman.

The Beautiful Young Woman chuckled, "Didn’t I say? We have another place."

"Yes, I know you have another place, but my question is, if you originally planned to live in this one, why did you end up not living here?" Yang Fan pressed on.

The Beautiful Young Woman was taken aback and then spoke with a hint of irritation, "What kind of question is that? With two houses, of course, we’d live in whichever we like best. We were indeed planning to live here at first, but then we changed our minds and moved to the other one."

Yang Fan, looking at the few signs of use around the place, said, "I’m guessing it was something about this house that made living here uncomfortable for you, right?"

"With questions like that, not liking it means it is uncomfortable, right?" said the Beautiful Young Woman, glaring at Yang Fan.

She clearly did not take a liking to Yang Fan.

Old Zhou threw a curious glance at Yang Fan, who simply shook his head in response.

There was a mysterious feeling all around, but aside from the thin fog and blood footprints, he saw nothing out of the ordinary.

He had intended to bluff the woman, but it was obvious she was prepared to prevent Old Zhou and Yang Fan from driving down the price and wasn’t engaging with Yang Fan’s probing.

Old Zhou walked upstairs while asking, "Beautiful lady, how much are you planning to sell this house for?"

"Five hundred thousand!" the Beautiful Young Woman said, "With this location and the decoration, a price this low is rare. I’m someone who dislikes hassle, so the price I’ve set is one-step and firm."

Old Zhou nodded, "Although it’s fair, it’s still high, one hundred and thirty."

"That definitely won’t work. Take a good look at the location and every aspect of this house, five hundred thousand, I’m not making anything extra from you," the Beautiful Young Woman shook her head and said.

"I know, I’m well aware of not just the housing prices in this community but all of Xin’an. If you want to make a deal, make it one hundred and thirty, otherwise forget it. Besides, I always feel there’s something rather shady about this house," Old Zhou said.

"Big brother, who bargains like you? It won’t work, it won’t work," the Beautiful Young Woman shook her head repeatedly, her impressive bust swaying violently as she did.

While the two of them were bargaining, Yang Fan finally saw the current owner of the house.

A strange, eerie, green creature.

It looked somewhat like a human, or perhaps even a woman.

Her head and neck were vaguely visible, but most of her body was enveloped in a mass of green, which appeared to be algae, covering her so completely that she couldn’t be seen clearly.

She walked out of the bathroom on the first floor, dragging her feet with every step, leaving behind a vivid trail of bloody footprints. As she approached, the chill in the air intensified and a wind began to blow out of nowhere.

Yang Fan averted his gaze, allowing the algae-like creature to move its feet slowly and approach them until it stopped about a step away from him.

From this short distance, Yang Fan could finally make out some details more clearly.

It really looked like a woman wrapped in the midst of a mass of algae.

At that moment, Old Zhou and the woman finally came to an agreement on the price.

"Alright, one hundred and thirty it is. Brother, you’ve got some serious bargaining skills, I must admit," the Beautiful Young Woman said with a resigned shake of her head and a smile, "We can sign the contract whenever you want, and transfer ownership at a time that suits you."

"Beautiful lady, that’s very straightforward..." Old Zhou smiled, his eyes sparkling with delight as if he had just stolen a taste of honey.

Yang Fan suddenly interrupted Old Zhou and said, "Old Zhou, one hundred thousand, or let them sort out the issues with the house."

"What issues?" Old Zhou was confused by Yang Fan’s statement.

"The chilling aura!" Yang Fan said with an ostensibly natural sweep of his gaze at the algae-like mysterious creature standing beside him.

"Young man, I’ve just told you about this. It’s because nobody has been living here. What’s there to deal with? We just need to open the windows and air it out," the Beautiful Young Woman said, somewhat displeased.

Yang Fan looked calmly at the woman and said, "You haven’t told the truth, and you should know exactly why. You didn’t move out because you disliked the house. If I’m not wrong, it’s because it was unlivable, right?"

"That’s ridiculous!" the Beautiful Young Woman finally stopped hiding her irritation with Yang Fan, waving her arm as she challenged him, "Then what do you think the reason is? Besides this, what else could it be?"

"You don’t need to argue with me about facts that you know very well," Yang Fan said calmly, "I’ve already told you, drop the price to one hundred thousand and you don’t have to worry about anything. Alternatively, you can stick to your price, but you must take responsibility for getting the house cleaned up."

"I know you want to make more money, but if someone loses their life, I’m afraid that debt will fall on your heads. Don’t be so desperate to make money that you gamble with your very lives."
