Chapter 540: Chapter 540

Yang Fan drove Wang Daqiang and Gao Lanlan to the county town in a three-wheeler.

After hearing that Yang Fan was out to look at cars, Gao Lanlan went her separate way from the two of them, merely agreeing to return together in the evening.

The place that sold second-hand cars was always in the suburbs, a concentrated area with dozens of big and small car dealerships.

Except for luxury cars priced over a million, they basically had everything else, small as the three-wheelers, motorcycles, up to trucks, various types, a variety of brands of sedans.

"Old Wang, you should know quite a bit about cars, right?" Yang Fan drove the three-wheeler at a leisurely pace and asked.

He had heard that the second-hand car business was quite murky; if Wang Daqiang didn’t know much, he would need to find someone who did. After all, it was something worth tens of thousands, and if he got swindled, Yang Fan would definitely feel distressed to death.

"I’m fairly knowledgeable, but not an expert. I can usually spot the common problems," Wang Daqiang said.

"That’s good enough. We’re not in the car repair business. As long as we know enough to not get ripped off, that’s all that matters," Yang Fan said.

With that said by Da Qiang, Yang Fan also had a better idea of what to expect.

The two browsed around and chose a dealership with a wide variety of models to drive their three-wheeler in.

No one received them outside. They walked all the way into the main hall before they saw a woman lying on the sofa asleep, covered with a gray blanket, her bare feet showing, her long, fair legs exposed.

She seemed to be a woman who lived a refined life, even her toenails painted with pink polish.

Aside from this woman, Yang Fan saw no one else in the large hall that accommodated several cars; it appeared such a vast space had only this one person.

"Boss, buying a car," Yang Fan called out upon seeing her.

But the woman was sleeping so deeply that even Yang Fan’s loud call didn’t stir her in the slightest.

The woman was truly at ease, with both big doors of the hall wide open, she could sleep so peacefully.

If someone with ill intentions came by and mustered the audacity, this woman might very well end up as someone’s prey.

"Boss!"

Yang Fan approached and called out again.

This shout finally roused the deeply sleeping woman. She brushed the long hair off her face, stretched with a yawn, and sat up, with her neckline revealing a deep, snowy ravine.

Seemingly still groggy from sleep, she didn’t realize she was exposing herself.

After sitting on the sofa and coming back to reality, she straightened her clothes and looked at Yang Fan and Wang Daqiang, "You guys... looking for a car?"

Yang Fan nodded, his gaze shifting from that snowy ravine to the woman’s face.

She wasn’t old, looking to be around thirty-four or thirty-five.

With a pear-shaped face and delicate makeup, she had the air of an urban beauty.

Yet, just waking from sleep, she seemed slightly listless, lacking a bit of vitality.

"What kind of car are you looking for?" the woman asked.

"A double-cab, something decent," Yang Fan conveyed his thoughts.

The woman slipped on her sandals lying nearby and clacked out of the hall, only to seem to remember something and called out, "Oh right, get the keys."

Yang Fan couldn’t help but smile. The woman really seemed to have been befuddled by sleep.

The woman went back once more, returning with a set of car keys in hand.

"How about this one? It’s a nearly new car from the year before last, in very good condition, with insurance until the end of the year. If you book the car now, you can drive it away immediately, without having to worry about any fees; we’ll handle all the registration for you." The woman led Yang Fan and Wang Daqiang to a car and, patting the side of the vehicle, spoke.

Yang Fan turned to Wang Daqiang, "Shall we take a look first, try out the car?"

Wang Daqiang nodded his head and said to the woman, "I’ll try it first."

"Feel free to try, the car has no issues at all," the woman said confidently.

Wang Daqiang took the car keys, reversed out, and then hit the road.

Yang Fan didn’t go along; he didn’t understand cars and he trusted Wang Daqiang’s judgment.

"If I book this car, how much would it roughly cost me?" Yang Fan asked.

The woman replied, "This nearly new car would be about ninety thousand out the door, it’s a very practical model. From the year before last, it’s a nearly new car with just a little over two thousand on the odometer. I’ll give you the lowest quotation straight away, Fifty-six thousand, and you can drive it off right now."

"A new car is ninety thousand out the door, and a used one is almost sixty thousand; that’s too high..." Yang Fan muttered.

The woman laughed, "Our financing is loose. You won’t get approved elsewhere, but you will here, regardless of your credit status. Zero down payment, for now, you won’t need to pay a dime."

"I don’t like financing, I’ll pay in full," Yang Fan declared, waving the suggestion aside.

Although he didn’t understand cars, he had some understanding of this aspect.

If used cars are one deep pit, then financing is another.

"Paying in full? That’s a bit..." The woman suddenly seemed troubled, "I think financing would be more convenient for you. You can get the loan and pay it off slowly, and you can use the cash you have for other things. Besides, the interest on our loan isn’t high, and it would be very easy to repay."

"Consider this, with Fifty-six thousand, if you finance over three years, you’re only paying a little over one thousand each month, which is very easy."

The woman seemed very keen on getting Yang Fan to finance the car.

"No financing, just give me the lowest quote you can. If it doesn’t work, I’ll look elsewhere," Yang Fan said.

"Young brother, your financial calculations aren’t very sound, financing is more cost-effective," the woman said, "How about this, I’ll knock off another five thousand if you take out a loan?"

"Do you have a grudge against paying in full or something?" Yang Fan asked with a sidelong glance, "Don’t bring up financing again. Just tell me what’s the biggest discount you can offer? If we can agree, we’ll continue; if not, let’s not waste each other’s time."

The woman started laughing, "Why are you so stubborn, young brother? Those of us in this business know how to make the best deal, why else would I push this so much?"

"It’s really difficult to lower the price any more, but we can offer you a discount of five thousand."

Yang Fan could tell, this woman was just trying to dig a pit for him here.

"Alright, if that’s the case, then it seems there’s no need to talk further," Yang Fan said bluntly.

After saying that, he stood up and left the showroom, planning to wait for Wang Daqiang to come back and then look somewhere else.

"Young brother, don’t rush off, let’s talk it over," the woman suddenly stopped Yang Fan, joking with a laugh, "With such a fiery temper, alright, let’s do fifty thousand cash, and you can take the car. How about that?"

"That price is still too high for my liking," Yang Fan said, shaking his head.

"Then how much do you want?" the woman asked.

Yang Fan extended three fingers, "Thirty thousand, and that’s assuming the car is indeed in mint condition as you say. If there’s any issue here or there, that’s another story."
