Chapter 518: Chapter 518

Old Zhou asked with some belief, "In this Xin’an, is there a place even more awesome than Han Palace?"

Wei Jin teased, with a laugh, "Once you get there, you’ll know. That place, everyone who goes there is shocked. Like me, I’ve been there several times, but honestly, every time I go, I’m shocked."

"How come I just don’t believe you!" Old Zhou muttered dubiously, "You, you really have that..."

"Cut it out with the rest, swearing at people doesn’t uncover their faults, are you asking for a beating?" Wei Jin cut off Old Zhou’s words as he yelled.

Old Zhou smiled, "I was saying you don’t have that discerning taste. What did you think I was going to say?"

"Whether I have it or not, you’ll know once you get there." Wei Jin said.

In the midst of idle chatter, Wei Jin drove the car into Yue Liang Building.

This was a landmark building built a few years ago in Xin’an and the new business center of Xin’an.

The Yue Liang Building has ninety-nine floors and is said to be home to over a hundred companies.

Yang Fan had been to this place many times, but he had never once been inside the building.

Wei Jin parked the car in the parking lot and then, leading Yang Fan and Old Zhou, took the direct elevator from the parking lot all the way up to the ninetieth floor.

Yang Fan looked around and seemed to have arrived directly at the destination.

Exiting the elevator, they walked forward along a corridor and saw a not particularly large hall that looked like most companies’ reception areas, with quite archaic decorations.

At the entrance to the hall, there was a very large reception desk with a wavy design, manned by two young girls who were remarkably pretty. They wore light blue long dresses, with their hair tied up in buns behind their heads.

They both seemed to be barely over twenty years old.

"Good afternoon, sir. Please show your identification."

Wei Jin nodded, pulled out a black card and handed it over, while also saying, "Do I still have a few recommendation spots for members available right now?"

"Yes, sir. You have accumulated four more members you can recommend." The young girl said as she handed back Wei Jin’s card with both hands, "Sir, your card—verification complete."

"Verify their assets and get them memberships." Wei Jin said, "No, wait a second."

He gave Yang Fan and Old Zhou a look and led them aside, whispering, "Fanzi, brother, do you have assets over a million yet?"

Yang Fan nodded, "Barely."

"Oh, that should be fine, then. I guess your fortune is definitely an easy matter. Otherwise, I was about to transfer some to you to temporarily bump up your assets. They won’t recognize the transfer once they verify the assets on their side." Wei Jin explained.

"As for Old Zhou, no need for me to say more, this old man’s always crying poor, but he definitely has the assets of a million."

Yang Fan gave a wry smile, "It’s really not that casual, Brother Wei, you’re seriously overestimating me."

"Your life fortune does not include lacking money—have you forgotten what I do?" Wei Jin said with a confident smile.

Old Zhou looked at Wei Jin suspiciously and asked, "What’s this place that requires asset verification?"

"A private club, they have a threshold for entrance. Only us old-timers can bring someone in, and you need to have assets of at least a million." Wei Jin explained, "As for this year’s membership fee, I’ll cover it. You two don’t need to worry."

"This threshold... sure is high," Old Zhou remarked with a click of his tongue.

"Let’s go, let’s first verify the assets." Wei Jin led Yang Fan and Old Zhou back to the counter.

The asset verification process was fairly simple, just needing to confirm that Yang Fan and Old Zhou indeed had assets of a million.

Then they registered their information, which was quite thorough; it even made Yang Fan feel embarrassed.

The basic information was just name, phone number, address, and such, but the subsequent questions about preferences in the opposite sex were incredibly detailed, encompassing everything from facial shape, hairstyle, to height, measurements, and personality, asking about every last detail.

After answering, Yang Fan couldn’t help but ask, "Why do you need to ask these details so thoroughly?"

"Our manager says it’s called ’catering to what the guests like!’" the young girl replied with a smile.

Yang Fan couldn’t help but click his tongue secretly— he clearly understood the implication.

Needless to say, just on this point alone, this place must be more than ordinary.

The world of the wealthy is something the poor aren’t even qualified to imagine.

In the past, he thought Han Palace was at the forefront of such places, truly explosive.

Now, looking at it, Han Palace might indeed be a notch below this place.

"Just deduct the membership fee from my account," Wei Jin instructed the receptionist.

"Certainly, Mr. Wei." The receptionist busied herself for a moment, printed an invoice, and handed it to Wei Jin, "Please keep the invoice safe, Mr. Wei. Everything is in order now. Would you like to dine first or rest?"

"Let’s eat," Wei Jin said.

Yang Fan sneakily glanced at the invoice in Wei Jin’s hand and almost had his eyes pop out of his head.

Bloody hell, a year’s membership fee of ten thousand.

This... threshold is indeed high.

Ten thousand could be enough for some to keep a young, beautiful college student...

"Please follow me, someone will guide you. We’ve already reserved the Feng booth for you," the receptionist said, gesturing.

Old Zhou looked around and suddenly sighed, "Although I have not yet seen what is inside, just from these procedures and costs, I’m starting to feel that Han Palace isn’t that appealing anymore."

With a mysterious smile playing on his lips, Wei Jin said, "No worries, don’t rush. You’ll be completely convinced once we get inside. Otherwise, you’ll always think I’m boasting or pretending to be knowledgeable."

A girl in a white and green tasseled dress with a gauzy veil covering her face approached them.

She bent in greeting and then led Yang Fan and the others toward the Feng booth.

"Gentlemen, the Feng booth," she announced.

Upon arrival, Yang Fan was astonished to find that this booth was different from what he had imagined.

It seemed like he had entered a hall where ancient nobility hosted feasts.

After entering the door, a passage was created using antique shelves and folding screens.

Traversing the screens revealed a scene complete with a little bridge over flowing water and elegant lotus flowers.

They had actually cultivated a landscape inside the booth—artificial mountains and waters, surrounded by bamboo, with a small stone bridge on the side. Lotus flowers bloomed fetchingly on both sides, lively koi fish swam back and forth, and there was an unidentifiable platform nearby.

At a diagonally opposite position, there were two rows of seats.

But these were not regular tables and chairs; they were ancient-style low tables and mats, with a cushion set to the side.

Without going into anything else, just the style alone almost maxed out the atmosphere.

"Gentlemen, please take a look at what kind of set meal you would like?" asked the young girl in green, her voice crisp.

Wei Jin was busy settling Yang Fan and Old Zhou into their seats and responded directly, "Today, I’m entertaining Brother Fanzi, who I’m meeting for the first time, and showing a bumpkin a glimpse of the real world. Let’s go all out, order the Emperor set meal, and let these two experience the emperor’s life."

"Fine, I’ll tolerate your rudeness for your filial piety’s sake!" Old Zhou gritted his teeth and cursed.
