Happy Little Farmer -
Chapter 475
Chapter 475: Chapter 475
Zhou Wenhui’s words left Yang Fan completely stunned.
Staring blankly at Little Mother under the light, whose delicate skin glowed with a touch of red, his expression stiffened for quite a while before he could say awkwardly, "Little Mother, this matter... let’s just leave it in the past, why bring it up again..."
"You might be able to pretend nothing happened, but I can’t." Zhou Wenhui rolled her eyes, "Don’t think of the situation with your father as so complicated. It’s not what you imagine. You’ll slowly come to understand some things."
"All you need to do right now is treat me as an ordinary woman. It’s okay to have whatever thoughts you should have, that’s it, meeting’s over, time to sleep. If you want me to tuck you in, report in advance, I’ll get ready, got it?"
Yang Fan... didn’t understand!
The message in Little Mother’s words seemed quite significant, yet at the same time, as if she said nothing at all.
As he watched Little Mother ready to leave with her graceful steps, Yang Fan hastily called out, "Little Mother, can you be clearer? What exactly is going on with you and my dad? How can I dare to have any thoughts about you if you’re not clear?"
"Just listen to me, and you won’t be wrong!" Zhou Wenhui turned back and deftly reached for Yang Fan’s crotch with her right hand, "If it weren’t for your reservations, I would have had my way with you long ago. I’m only your Little Mother in name, got it now? As for the other matters, you’re not supposed to know yet, and there’s no need for you to."
"Do you have the guts to mess with Little Mother now? If not, well... later won’t do, come tomorrow night instead, Little Mother will make sure you have a good night’s sleep. You’ve seen all there is to my body, even sneaked a touch that one time, and now you’re chickening out? Don’t play the saint with me, it’s pointless!"
"If you feel uneasy about it, then consider it me sleeping with you, not you with me."
Zhou Wenhui winked at Yang Fan and clicked her tongue before leaving with a spring in her step.
Yang Fan was left standing alone in the kitchen, utterly disheveled.
His mind felt like it had been hit by an earthquake.
What had Little Mother just said?
She was only his Little Mother in name and had had her eye on him for a while?
No, that’s not right; she also knew about that sneaky thing he had done in the bathroom.
So Little Mother actually knew everything!
Ah... this.
The more Yang Fan thought, the more confused he became, yet one thread of thought began to clear up.
Little Mother indeed didn’t mind getting involved with him; she had initiated things by using her mouth on him before and had paraded naked in front of him under the guise of matchmaking him with his sister-in-law, shamelessly showcasing her beautiful figure.
Suddenly, Yang Fan suspected that there were secrets hidden within his family.
From the words Little Mother had just said, he inexplicably felt that maybe the things she had told him before were lies.
Yang Fan lingered aimlessly in the kitchen for a while, lacking crucial clues. No matter how hard he tried to think, nothing made sense, so he decided to put these thoughts aside for now. He wanted to clear his mind and figure everything out, which obviously required more effort on his part with Little Mother. He’d see when the time came.
Carrying the cold dish prepared by Little Mother, Yang Fan entered the room where Old Sir Shen and Liang Laoshi were.
The two of them had started on the distilled spirits again.
It seemed like their addiction to alcohol was quite substantial!
"You two, I feel like I got to know you a bit late," Yang Fan said with a smile as he set down the dish, "Go ahead and eat, I’ll go get the liquor."
"Not late, what’s late? This age is just right. If I had met Elder Liang, this rascal, earlier, I’m sure all my skills would have gone to waste," Mr. Shen said, shaking his head and swaying.
"You’re a lover of alcohol yourself, so stop pointing fingers at others," Elder Liang said with a laugh.
Yang Fan smiled and returned to his room, where he took out the bottle of liquor Zhang Yulan had given him a while ago.
He had always been reluctant to drink it.
But to entertain these two guests today, he felt it should be brought out.
As soon as the liquor was placed on the table, Old Sir Shen’s and Liang Laoshi’s eyes immediately lit up.
"Kid, I’ve started to like you more and more," old Mr. Shen laughed heartily, already impatiently opening the bottle of liquor. "Come on, Old Liang, I’ll fill your cup. I know you, a bumpkin who guzzles cheap liquor, definitely haven’t seen anything good. Try this, it’s over a thousand—expensive stuff."
"What, this thing costs over a thousand? Do you know how much cheap liquor I could buy with that? Fanzi, aren’t you living a bit too luxuriously?" Elder Liang asked in surprise, realizing it was fine liquor but not having expected it to be so pricey.
Yang Fan smirked, "How could I afford that, it was a gift! Since I’m playing host to the two of you, I obviously have to bring out the good stuff."
"Now that’s something pleasant to hear!" chuckled old Mr. Shen, "I’m happy today, so I’ll teach you a real trick or two."
He fumbled in his pocket for a while before pulling out a book and handing it to Yang Fan.
"Study it well. If you can master what’s in this book, it should be enough to support you in your future endeavors, allowing you to help people settle their homes and ward off disasters," Old Sir Shen said with a beaming smile. "I relied completely on this book when I started out. Although you’re not my designated successor, I’ve taken a liking to you, so I’ll pass it on to you first. How much you learn from it is up to your own abilities."
Upon receiving the book, Yang Fan felt like he had acquired a priceless treasure as he indeed needed some systematic study.
Otherwise, he was pretty much fumbling in the dark with many things.
But as soon as he opened the book for the first time, he was nearly blinded.
It was full of archaic seal script and all sorts of weird symbols.
It was like fine bran that he, a wild boar, couldn’t digest...
He continued to read earnestly, but it was tough, and the words just didn’t flow.
Seeing his struggle, old Mr. Shen laughed and said, "Kid, you can’t be greedy when learning this stuff. You must study it word by word, symbol by symbol. Today learn two, tomorrow another. As long as you’re not too dumb, you should be able to fully grasp the contents of this book in three years."
"Once you’ve mastered this book, you won’t cower even when facing mysterious beings of the Spirit Level; you’ll know how to deal with them."
"Three years?!" Yang Fan was flabbergasted.
He needed three years to study this thin book?
"Three years is the normal standard. It might take longer for the slower learners," old Mr. Shen chuckled.
Elder Liang sighed deeply, "I’m on the slower side. It took me a full five years just to get started."
"You’re quite aware of your own abilities," Mr. Shen scoffed with a laugh. "Five years to just get started, you are indeed slow. And from your facial features and bone structure, you’re suited for business, not this line of work; you’re a square peg in a round hole."
"But I still admire that you managed to learn it halfway through your life; you’re better than those with natural talent!"
"Like beating one’s head against a wall—you eventually break through."
"I can tell this stuff is indeed difficult. I’ll study it slowly!" Yang Fan said with a wry smile.
It looked like he had his work cut out for him.
Now that he was involved in this line of work, he had to learn what was necessary.
He wanted to understand what that unknown world was all about.
