Chapter 404: Chapter 404
The stranger’s cleaning process was exceedingly long.
Yang Fan was getting anxious waiting outside when she finally, leaning on the wall, walked out from the bathroom.
Seeing her legs trembling, occasionally twitching and shuddering, Yang Fan suddenly understood why she took so long. She probably had trouble standing in there, making it difficult to wash up.
"Look at the mess you’ve made, how am I supposed to go back like this," the woman complained with a cry in her voice upon seeing Yang Fan, "You were too harsh, five thousand seems too little now..."
"Are you trying to raise the price on the spot?" Yang Fan asked in surprise.
"I feel some things just can’t be measured with money."
The woman snorted, "Our relationship today was based on money to begin with, why can’t I measure it with money? It’s not like we’re dating."
"But, I’m just complaining. Let’s stick with the amount we agreed on before," she added.
Yang Fan quite liked her attitude.
It was much more reasonable than before.
"Do I have another chance to ’deal’ with you?" Yang Fan asked.
The woman shook her head fiercely, as if it was a rattle-drum, "Impossible, absolutely impossible, I want to live a few more years! Being tormented by you once, I feel like I’ve lost several years of my life."
"Well, that’s quite regrettable, ’dealing’ with you was quite comfortable," Yang Fan said.
"You tidy up first, I’ll take a quick wash and then see you out."
The woman nodded.
As she entered, she was only wearing that slightly masculine-looking tank top.
Currently, everything from her waist down was exposed, looking very attractive.
This half-concealed, half-exposed look was the most stimulating.
But Yang Fan just took a couple more glances before diverting his eyes.
Having just relieved himself, he wasn’t that impulsive.
After a quick wash in the bathroom, Yang Fan escorted the woman out of the store and hailed a taxi on the street for her.
With her current state, walking clearly seemed unrealistic, her legs twitching more fiercely than someone with Parkinson’s.
Although this was a random monetary transaction, it still felt wonderful to Yang Fan.
Even though it cost five thousand, which hurt.
After the woman left, Yang Fan continued with his routine of tending the shop.
Customers were scarce throughout the day.
By the time he closed the shop in the evening, Yang Fan did some rough calculations and found that today’s loss was outrageous.
The income was two hundred and thirty, and the outgo was five thousand.
Bai Meng Zhu arrived with Yang Fan’s dinner.
She said she had an urgent matter, quickly left Yang Fan’s dinner, and hurried off.
Her departure was so rushed that Yang Fan didn’t even get a chance to tease her.
After eating his fill, Yang Fan imitated those old men by sitting at the storefront to enjoy the cool evening air.
His phone suddenly rang.
He glanced at it and, to his surprise, it was Liu Sanleng.
A rare caller indeed.
"Boss Liu!"
Yang Fan answered the phone with a smile and greeted him.
"Brother, busy or not?" Liu Sanleng’s hearty voice rang out on the phone.
"Not only am I not busy, I’m actually overly idle—just watching the old men chatting and gossiping," Yang Fan laughed.
"Since you’re not busy, how about I treat you to a meal? Do me the honor," Liu Sanleng said.
"I just ate," replied Yang Fan.
It was a bit unexpected for Liu Sanleng to suddenly invite him for a meal.
"You’ve eaten? Then let’s have a drink, do me the honor," Liu Sanleng said.
"What are you saying, Boss Liu? It’s you who’s doing me the honor. Just name the place, and I’ll come over in a while," Yang Fan responded.
"Hey, how can I let you come to me, Brother? You send me your location, and I’ll come pick you up," Liu Sanleng offered.
Yang Fan chuckled, "No need to go through all that trouble, I’m actually free right now. Shall I come to the dance hall to find you?"
"Like that, huh? That works too. There’s a place right across from the dance hall with quite good flavors," Liu Sanleng suggested.
"Okay!"
Yang Fan agreed and hung up the phone.
He didn’t know why Liu Sanleng suddenly invited him to eat, but people like him typically only show up when they need something.
If he’s making such a big fuss, there must be something.
If there wasn’t anything important, he probably wouldn’t have invited Yang Fan for a meal.
After closing the shop, Yang Fan pocketed his keys and cellphone and strolled towards Liu Sanleng’s dance hall.
Xin’an Town was not too big, but not too small either.
For some remote areas, the size of this town could almost match that of a small county city.
In less than half an hour, Yang Fan arrived at the restaurant Liu Sanleng had mentioned.
It was a high-end restaurant, quite impressive in appearance.
Although Yang Fan often hung out in town, he had never set foot in this place before.
"Brother Yang, over here! Right here!"
A robust voice suddenly called out from the side.
Yang Fan turned toward the voice and saw Liu Sanleng standing at the side door of the restaurant, waving at him.
Yang Fan walked over, "Boss Liu, you arrived quite early."
"I’m just across from here—just a few steps away. Let’s head upstairs, the dishes have been ordered," Liu Sanleng said enthusiastically, "I’ve been wanting to treat Brother Yang to a meal for a while now, to properly thank you. But business has been so busy lately, I’ve been run off my feet, and it slipped by until now. Don’t hold it against me, Brother. I’ll drink three cups in apology to you later."
Without even a bottle of wine at hand, what sort of apology was he offering?
Once upstairs, Yang Fan wasn’t really going to demand Liu San to lift up three cups in apology.
"Why see it as something extraordinary, Boss Liu? Is business a bit too busy nowadays?" Yang Fan asked.
With unmatched enthusiasm, Liu Sanleng grabbed Yang Fan’s arm, saying, "Too busy, so much so that I even had to resort to making appointments in advance. Otherwise, those girls in the shop might just lay in bed without eating or drinking for more than a week."
"Appointments are booked out a week later—I, Liu Sanleng, have been running shops for many years, and honestly, I’ve never seen such a situation. Brother, you’re the impressive one. A simple set of actions, and my shop came back to life. I am truly impressed!"
Yang Fan smiled faintly, "Boss Liu, it wasn’t just some simple set of actions—it was quite complicated!"
Even if he really had just passed on a message, it did sound simple.
But verbally, he would absolutely not admit that it was simple.
"Right, right, I probably just saw the simple side of it. Anyway, after communicating with you, it felt like everything was swiftly sorted out, and business suddenly exploded. Then, old customers brought new customers, new customers became old ones, and brought more new customers," Liu Sanleng excitedly explained.
Good business had plumped up his wallet, and his voice became louder when he spoke.
Yang Fan wore a light smile, saying softly, "It’s a win-win situation, and looking at how it’s going, you shouldn’t regret it, Boss Liu. When we did the evaluation, the situation wasn’t looking that great, so this outcome is somewhat unexpected."
