Chapter 383: Chapter 383

Yang Fan looked at the two bottles of baijiu Old Zhou had bought back and was utterly dumbfounded.

"Old Zhou, isn’t this a bit much?"

"It is very necessary!" Old Zhou opened the bottles and handed one to Yang Fan, "This concerns my entire livelihood, we can’t be careless. Drink a little, and pour some on yourself, it’s enough if the smell of alcohol is noticeable."

"It’s early in the morning, I haven’t eaten a thing, and you bring out this stuff, are you out of your mind?" At that moment, Yang Fan felt nauseous from the alcohol smell. He put down the bottle and said, "How about this, let’s go have breakfast first and drink while we eat."

Old Zhou had already taken a sip, and upon hearing this, he agreed profoundly, "Makes sense, let’s go."

The two left the hotel and had mutton soup at a breakfast spot nearby. Accompanying the soup, each drank half a bottle of baijiu, fully preparing themselves before heading back to Old Zhou’s shop.

The shop was already open.

Zhu Shanshan was exercising at the shop entrance wearing a set of light sportswear.

The loose yet form-fitting sportswear outlined her exquisite curves in conspicuous detail, extremely alluring.

But since Old Zhou was present, Yang Fan didn’t dare to look too much and tried to keep his gaze as decent as possible.

"Where did you die off to?" Zhu Shanshan glared sideways at Old Zhou, her tone thick with murderous intent.

Guilt was nearly written all over Old Zhou’s dark face.

"I had a bit too much fun chatting with Fanzi last night, drank too much by accident, and ended up pulling an all-nighter," Old Zhou said weakly.

Zhu Shanshan’s eyes softened briefly as she quickly glanced at Yang Fan, then sternly turned to Old Zhou and scolded, "If you must mess around, that’s on you, but do you have to drag Fanzi into it? He’s such a decent young man, and if he keeps hanging out with you, he’ll end up no good."

Old Zhou coughed lightly, "What are you talking about, Fanzi has helped us out a great deal this time, saving me from a hefty fine. I invited Fanzi for a drink, that’s all decently straightforward."

"It’s just that we got a bit too carried away, accidentally drank a bit too much—you see, he’s perfectly fine. I can’t explain it clearly to you; I’m going to lie down, I haven’t slept all night and my head is spinning."

Zhu Shanshan glared fiercely at Old Zhou and waved her hand displeasedly, "Go sleep your death in there!"

"Fanzi, I won’t see you off, I’m going to rest for a bit. My body can’t keep up with yours; let your sister-in-law take care of you," Old Zhou whispered, winking at Yang Fan before ducking into the shop.

He ran off somewhat sneakily.

Zhu Shanshan, irritated, looked slightly worse for wear and lowered her voice to ask Yang Fan, "You two didn’t go drinking last night, did you?"

"Sister-in-law, we actually did have a drink," Yang Fan admitted, feeling a bit guilty.

Zhu Shanshan huffed, "Never mind, I won’t ask you about it, just take care of your own health and don’t follow Old Zhou’s bad example. Besides, women out there aren’t safe either, if you want to try something new, your sister-in-law can help you too."

Yang Fan nodded silently.

He hadn’t completely grasped the meaning behind Zhu Shanshan’s words, but it wasn’t a topic he should delve into.

Old Zhou was right inside the shop.

The two of them discussing this here could easily lead to trouble.

"Sister-in-law, I should head back, I haven’t been home in days, they’ll start nagging if I don’t show up soon," Yang Fan said.

"What’s the rush? Wait a moment, I’ll go grab something for you!" Zhu Shanshan looked at Yang Fan discontentedly, and with a sway of her ample buttocks, she entered the shop. Shortly after, she came out holding a black plastic bag.

It was unclear what was inside, but the bag was packed full.

"Things were a bit rushed last night, and you didn’t get a chance to take these. I’ve sorted them all out for you, you just need to cook them when you get back," Zhu Shanshan instructed.

"Sister-in-law, what are these now?" Yang Fan asked.

Zhu Shanshan, with a hint of charm at the corners of her lips and a soft gaze towards Yang Fan, chuckled and said, "Don’t ask, they’re all good stuff. I’m not like Old Zhou, that deadbeat, always harming you."

Yang Fan really couldn’t say much, just smiled and acknowledged.

However, he silently added in his heart that Old Zhou was indeed his life mentor.

Whether in doing business or broadening his horizons, he was his true guide.

It really couldn’t be said that he harmed him.

Taking the items prepared by Zhu Shanshan, Yang Fan rode a tricycle back to town.

Although he had been away from home for only three days, the events of those days were numerous, making him feel as if he had been away for a long time. Walking on the familiar streets even gave him the illusion of finally returning.

The door to Bai Cao Pavilion was open, and when Yang Fan walked in, Bai Mengzhu was sitting there, brewing tea with style.

"Oh, finally decided to come back, huh?" Bai Mengzhu started with a smiling greeting when she saw Yang Fan enter.

Yang Fan couldn’t help but laugh, "I was just going to say, you somewhat resemble a lady boss. Now that you’ve said that, it’s even more apparent, bang on."

Bai Mengzhu’s cheeks quietly reddened, she spat softly and said, "What nonsense are you talking about? Which eye of yours sees me looking like a lady boss? I don’t fancy being the boss of this small shop of yours."

"Not lacking in ambition." Yang Fan shook his head and said, "Since you look down on it, I really shouldn’t say more."

Bai Mengzhu rolled her eyes, "Why don’t you ask where I got the keys from?"

"What’s there to ask, there are only two keys, and the one I have is with me, so yours must obviously belong to my sister-in-law," Yang Fan said, he had never really wondered about it.

Bai Mengzhu must have met Ye Tong, otherwise, she wouldn’t have had the keys to this place.

"Boring!" Bai Mengzhu snorted lightly, "I was planning to scare you, but it’s not fun at all."

"You really couldn’t scare me with that, but I am curious, how did my sister-in-law give you the key?" Yang Fan asked.

Bai Mengzhu suddenly became interested, pacing before Yang Fan with her hands behind her back, playfully saying, "Guess!"

"I won’t guess. It’s just the usual stuff, nothing worth guessing," Yang Fan said.

Bai Mengzhu snorted lightly, "You’re really no fun!"

"I came on my own accord. I told you earlier I had promised to clean for you every day, I couldn’t break that promise, nor could I just stop because you were gone. And then your sister-in-law gave me the key."

"By the way, these past two days I’ve also helped you with some stock. The prices were advised by both your sister-in-law and me. I covered the cost upfront, so you need to settle the accounts with me," she said.

Saying this, she quickly walked to the tea table, picked up a notebook from it, and handed it to Yang Fan, as if to show off her efforts.

"You actually know how to do this too," Yang Fan said, surprised.

But when he carefully looked at what was written on it, his expression gradually became strange.

"Is this the pricing the two of you came up with?" he asked.

Bai Mengzhu hadn’t noticed the change in Yang Fan’s expression, and with her hands behind her back, she haughtily said, "How about it? I did a pretty good job, didn’t I?"

"Pretty good, really pretty good!" Yang Fan nodded repeatedly.

Really pretty good!
