Happy Little Farmer
Chapter 365

Chapter 365: Chapter 365

After breakfast at Zheng Yuyu’s place, Yang Fan set off.

They needed to linger in town a bit longer, to weigh all the Codonopsis from Ma Baoyu’s and Zheng Yuyu’s families and settle their accounts.

Unloading the truck, weighing, then loading it again, and settling accounts, by the time all this was done, it was already past ten.

Yang Fan had spent sixty thousand in one go.

The money was spent just like flowing water.

Ma Baoyu’s family took slightly more, nearly ninety thousand. If the costs and labor input were not considered, it seemed like a lot of money had been earned, but this income still resulted in a loss for Ma Baoyu.

As for Zheng Yuyu, her losses were even greater, because besides similar costs, she also had interest on loans.

When leaving, Zheng Yuyu pulled Yang Fan aside quietly and asked worriedly, "Boss Yang, the thing you mentioned yesterday is definitely valid, right?"

She was very concerned about helping Yang Fan with the goods collection, as it could be her main source of income going forward.

But her worries were justified.

If she were to help Yang Fan collect goods, it meant she would have to invest more capital.

If things went wrong, the bit of money she had just made might just be washed away.

Yang Fan laughed, "I mentioned signing a contract, you said it wasn’t necessary, and now you’re worried again? It’s valid, definitely valid."

"I’m not very confident with contracts, if you want to back out, that paper can’t hold you," Zheng Yuyu said with an embarrassed smile, "In my eyes, nothing is more dependable than your promise right now, Boss Yang. Since you said it like that, I’m reassured."

Although she verbally expressed her reassurance, her eyes still carried unease.

"If you’re not confident and worried about the money going to waste, I can offer you a more secure method. You go and negotiate, don’t keep the goods at your place; you could give a small deposit if someone is worried. When it’s roughly a thousand kilograms, you tell me, and I’ll come to pick up the goods and settle accounts," Yang Fan thought for a moment and then said.

Zheng Yuyu’s eyes lit up and she smiled reservedly, "It’s Boss Yang who thinks of everything, with this I am completely reassured. Honestly, having made just this little money, if the goods collection went wrong and I had to pour it all back in, I would truly be anxious."

"Next time Boss Yang says to come over, I’ll prepare well and let you have a few good days. I’m not very good in other aspects, and I don’t know what to say, so I’ll use my body to entertain Boss Yang."

Yang Fan smiled and nodded, "That must be the peak of hospitality."

Zheng Yuyu shyly lowered her head and brushed her hair aside, "Maybe not, but it’s the best I have to offer."

"You shouldn’t entertain guests like that lightly, or my poor heart might not take it," Yang Fan joked.

Zheng Yuyu immediately said, "I definitely won’t, I actually care a lot about my body, but it’s just that the pressure from money is too harsh. I want to earn a bit with Boss Yang, so that’s why I’m like this, I wouldn’t for others."

Yang Fan smiled and nodded.

Whether Zheng Yuyu would really proceed that way, probably only she herself knew.

If Yang Fan didn’t know, he wouldn’t care.

If he knew that Zheng Yuyu was kissed by thousands and embraced by hundreds, he would feel unhappy.

After casually discussing the matter with Zheng Yuyu, Yang Fan bought everyone a few bottles of water and got Zhao Wu, the despondent little prince of the truck, two packs of cigarettes before they set off.

Over two hundred kilometers later, they arrived in town by one in the afternoon.

Yang Fan didn’t even stop; he just went straight to Old Zhou’s place with the goods.

With sixty thousand splashed out, such a large scale made Yang Fan uneasy holding onto it any longer; it felt safer turning it into money sooner. Any slight mishap could have made him cry.

He had Zhao Wu drive straight to the warehouse while he headed to Old Zhou’s shop.

Only Shanshan was in the shop; Old Zhou had wandered off somewhere again.

Seeing Yang Fan enter, Shanshan, who was reclining in a chair browsing her phone, suddenly showed a surprised look on her face.

"You bad thing, finally remembered to come see sister-in-law, huh?" Shanshan scolded half-heartedly.

"What are you talking about, I think about it every day. If it weren’t for having to hustle to make a living, I’d love to hide under sister-in-law’s skirt every day," Yang Fan said. He had learned his lesson, choosing to compliment before explaining anything.

Shanshan’s eyes twinkled hazily as she shyly glanced at Yang Fan, "You have real business today, right? Let’s talk business first; we can make arrangements later. I’m going to drain you dry today, you ungrateful brat."

"I’m sure to take care of sister-in-law comfortably," Yang Fan said with a smile, "Old Zhou’s not around?"

"He’s gone to the farm, won’t be back today," Shanshan said, her smile radiant, emotions in her eyes already swelling visibly, unable to hide them anymore, "Get my drift?"

"Got it, absolutely!" Yang Fan affirmed seriously.

Looks like he had to rearrange his plans today; Shanshan clearly had something big in mind.

"I’ve got a truckload of goods, can you take a look and handle it, sister-in-law?" Yang Fan asked.

"Sure, let’s go," Shanshan said as she rose from the lounge chair.

She was dressed simply today, in a baggy T-shirt and sports shorts that barely covered her buttocks.

Her long, shapely legs were pale and delicate, seemingly elongating her figure, swaying seductively with each step.

The two chatted and laughed on their way to the warehouse, where Shanshan was surprised to see it was full of Codonopsis. "Where did you get so much of this stuff from? Old Zhou was just worrying yesterday that the market for Codonopsis has been so grim, like a ghost town. He was worried about not being able to complete next month’s orders, and here you are delivering just that, Fanzi, you’re like timely rain!"

"Old Zhou was already worried about next month’s tasks?" Yang Fan asked.

"If you don’t prepare early, when it comes down to it and you can’t make it, you have to pay a fine, which is frighteningly high!" Shanshan explained, "Especially with the recent market for Codonopsis, it’s terrifying; everyone’s so scared they don’t even want to touch it, by then there might not be anywhere to even unload it."

"Well, it looks like Old Zhou and I got lucky this time," Yang Fan said with a laugh. "It’s from out of town; a herbal farmer approached me, and we made a deal. Actually, he went to Old Zhou first, but thought Old Zhou was too hard on the price, didn’t make a deal, and ended up coming to me after shopping around."

"I remember you talking about that guy, last name Ma, right? I was there that day too. Old Zhou, that guy, no matter what price he’s making, he just presses down as hard as the market will bear," Shanshan laughed.

"He was so sure, saying he was the only one in the market daring to buy, and that the guy would surely come back to him, but it ended in nothing. Then he ended up coming to you; you deserved to earn that money."

"You definitely weighed it; let’s join hands and unload this directly and settle the accounts."
