Chapter 252: Chapter 252: The Power of Family

After all the furniture was arranged neatly, Yang Fan’s not-so-large shop suddenly looked quite the part.

Near the entrance, two sofas formed an L-shape, alongside a small solid wood end table that didn’t take up much space, which would be perfect for lying down to rest and entertaining guests.

By the back door of the shop, the sister-in-law and Yang Yuan arranged two curio shelves, and in front of those was a very square-shaped tea table, which would also serve as Yang Fan’s desk in the future.

It must be said, clothes make the man just as the saddle makes the horse.

After this arrangement, Yang Fan felt that if he didn’t earn himself sixty thousand a month, he wouldn’t be doing justice to this setup.

"I feel like something’s still missing!" Yang Yuan stood in the middle of the shop, arms crossed in front of her, hand on her chin, resembling a contractor inspecting a site, examining the surroundings.

"It’s fine, what’s missing? Just missing opening for a good start!" Yang Fan said.

"It still feels a bit empty," Yang Yuan pondered, murmuring.

"Actually, we could place a couple of larger green plants over there," Wei Juan walked in from the back, smiling lightly as she spoke.

"Yes, yes, yes, just missing some green plants and calligraphy and paintings!" Yang Yuan clapped her hands emphatically, looked at Wei Juan in surprise, and asked, "Eh, Sister Wei, when did you get here?"

After a short adjustment, Wei Juan’s complexion had already returned to normal.

At that moment, there were no traces visible of the embarrassing handling by Yang Fan at her so-called place of shame.

"I haven’t been here long, Fanzi asked me to help tidy up the back room, I was just cleaning," Wei Juan said.

"Sister Wei, what plants do you think would be nice to put here? Shall we go out for a stroll again?" Yang Yuan asked.

Ye Tong chimed in from the side, "Let’s not buy flowers, there’s plenty at home. Little Mother is professional at keeping these things."

"I’d completely forgotten, Fourth Aunt’s almost filled up the rooftop, definitely not short of flowers. And about the calligraphy and paintings, it feels somewhat lacking without a few hanging here, right?" Yang Yuan said.

"No need to spend recklessly, it’s good enough as it is, those are just decorations," Yang Fan persuaded.

He suddenly realized that opening a shop had made the women of the family more concerned than him.

"Fanzi, actually, a couple of pieces of calligraphy and paintings should be fine," Ye Tong said, "Decoration is sometimes very important."

While they were talking, Zhou Wenhui and Fourth Aunt returned.

When Yang Fan saw that the two came back empty-handed, he immediately breathed a sigh of relief. Good, they hadn’t gone on a shopping spree.

Just as he had this thought, a double cab truck pulled up at the door.

Two men got down and began unloading things from the vehicle.

"Just put it down anywhere for now, we’ll organize it later," Zhou Wenhui instructed.

Soon, a water dispenser, sun umbrellas, lounge chairs, quilts, bedding sets, and numerous other items were piled inside, filling the shop like a small hill. Watching the ongoing unloading, Yang Fan’s mouth twitched.

Good gracious, why did it feel like only he was the poorest in the family?

He was so poor he didn’t want to sell anything, but these women in his family were something else, piling things in one after another.

Were they really that rich?

Where on earth would he need things like sun umbrellas and lounge chairs?

After about half an hour of moving things back and forth, the delivery people finally left.

"Little Mother, wouldn’t it have been better if you’d just given me the money directly?" Yang Fan said, somewhat dismally.

Zhou Wenhui smiled faintly and said, "I did give you the money, didn’t I? You didn’t want it. The things Four Aunt and I bought, none of them are unnecessary, they are all quite practical."

"Where next will we use the lounge chairs? And a water dispenser, we also don’t need that," Yang Fan said, "And all these odd and strange things, what are they even for?"

"Less complaining, it’s Four Aunt and I spending the money. Why so many objections? You got them, just use them. The lounge chair is for me to use. The yard is pretty spacious; eventually, we could put up an outdoor stove, plant some flowers and plants. I can come and relax whenever I have the time," Zhou Wenhui glared slightly, "So few objections, hurry up and arrange it all, we’re going to eat soon."

"Yeah, Fanzi, this is just a little token from me and your Little Mother." Fourth Aunt said with a smile, oozing grace and nobility.

Yang Fan obediently shut his mouth.

Having money is really great.

Didn’t spend a dime, and everything was prepared.

Little Mother and sister-in-law, although they left in two groups, apparently coordinated when buying things; there was no overlap at all.

Everyone worked together to organize the items Zhou Wenhui and Fourth Aunt had bought.

With that setup, the shop which still seemed a bit empty suddenly transformed completely.

Now Yang Fan could stand by the door and easily start calling out to attract customers.

And the backyard, where the warehouse goes, where the outdoor kitchen is, where to lay the flower beds, she organized it all swiftly.

The place that was still dusty in the afternoon turned unrecognizable in just a few hours.

Yang Fan could not help but marvel at how wonderful it was to have money; the efficiency was simply outrageous.

After tidying up everything, night had just enveloped the land.

Yang Fan took his family out for a meal in the town’s restaurant, then locked up the shop and headed home.

The next morning, Yang Fan was still not fully awake when Yang Yuan burst into his room and pounced on him like a hungry tiger, rubbing his nose against Yang Fan’s, yelling, "Bro, wake up, time to get up and pee."

Yang Fan was startled, eyes wide open in fright.

"What are you doing?!"

Their faces were so close, a slight movement forward and their lips would touch.

"Get up quickly, Fourth Aunt found a master who figured out that tomorrow is an auspicious day. We need to check if there’s anything else to sort out, we’re preparing to open for business!" Yang Yuan cried excitedly.

As she spoke, her breath, subtly hinting at the scent of Panax notoginseng, entered Yang Fan’s mouth.

"Aren’t you worried I might have designs on you? Why do you always press down on me!" Yang Fan said helplessly.

"Bro, I’m your sister, put away those beastly thoughts. We can be close, but it’s not incest!" Yang Yuan said with a sly smile, squinting her eyes, then suddenly pecked Yang Fan on the lips and jumped up.

"Hurry up, pee, eat breakfast, and then get to work."

Yang Fan’s mind went blank.

What did she just do?!

Has this crazy girl gone mad?

Talking about being close, but not too close, then kissing him—what was that about?

He subconsciously wiped the corner of his mouth, sweet as silk.

Her lips were indeed very soft, but this...

Yang Fan felt flustered.

Now he seriously suspected that Yang Yuan, this crazy girl, might indeed have designs on him.

She was the one with beastly thoughts.

Feeling somewhat like his brain had crashed, he got out of bed and shuffled into the bathroom in his slippers.

By the time he washed up and came out, breakfast was already on the table, and Little Mother and the others were waiting.

They were clearly much more eager about opening the shop than Yang Fan was.
