Great! I'm surrounded by villains!
Chapter 304 - 223: Judgment

Chapter 304: Chapter 223: Judgment

Prison Planet had never established a Star Harbor, or rather, any place on this barren globe could serve as one. The flagship transporting prisoners usually wouldn’t want to linger too long in such a godforsaken place—drop off the convicts and then make a swift exit, unwilling to let the taint of wickedness cling to them.

The Third Prince had originally thought this to be an overly sentimental description from a magazine, but when their ship touched down on the surface of Prison Planet, an inexplicable sense of oppression enveloped them all, as if hurrying them to leave.

Earth Wolf Twelve and Jiuyue were the two most deeply affected.

Less than a hundred meters from the docking point stood a lighthouse, the sole building visible on the surface and also the entrance to the prison. A voice inside them kept warning against drawing any closer.

"The echo of judgment."

The Third Prince had found this clue on the official website of Prison Planet. The Prison Governor had stated that everyone who arrived at Prison Planet would confront the sins in their heart, whether they wished to or not.

The deeper the sins in one’s heart, the more pronounced the influence.

With reactions like those of Earth Wolf Twelve and Jiuyue, it was certain they could not pass the assessment.

"Mr. Mingyuan, how do you feel?"

"I don’t feel a thing."

Only Duan Mingyuan remained unaffected as usual; he had packed up his belongings, considering that he might need to spend the night in prison, and prepared his luggage. Jiuyue had also thoughtfully prepared several packs of vacuum-sealed stir-fried dishes for him.

The official website of Prison Planet provided some columns for prisoners to leave messages, but only those exemplary model inmates with stellar behavior could use this platform to send out messages or make requests to the prison administrators. Among the most frequent complaints were the ones about the prison food.

The prisoners unanimously agreed that the first thing that needed improvement was the prison’s food.

"Tastes like shit."

About several hundred inmates had commented thus, but this feedback channel seemed to be merely for show. Since the first prisoner raised the issue, hundreds of years had passed, with four different Prison Governors, yet the food problem had never been addressed.

Since Jiuyue was particularly sensitive to food quality, naturally she wouldn’t allow Duan Mingyuan to suffer in prison, consuming something that "tasted like shit."

She also pondered why the inmates of Prison Planet were so familiar with the taste of shit.

This wasn’t just about Duan Mingyuan; it was also for the sake of their prolonged companionship.

After all, there were many instances where mouth-to-mouth contact was needed; if Mr. Mingyuan suffered greatly in prison, then once he left, he would "contaminate" her with that taste.

"The food in the suitcase will last you ten days, make sure not to eat the prison’s food," Jiuyue reminded with concern as he was about to depart. "There should be a microwave in the prison, but if there isn’t, I have also placed a microwave oven manual in your suitcase, so you can make one yourself following the instructions."

The two parted with longing, discussing content that left the Cosmic Pirates scratching their heads.

However, even as their goodbye reached the farewell kiss, their already somber mood took another hit—making the pirates face a tragic reality: once they entered prison, they’d no longer have any chance with women, and all their fiery desire would go unfulfilled.

"Can you hurry it up?"

One of the pirates complained, shivering, "This damn place is freezing to death!"

Prison Planet was much colder than other planets, perennially shielded from the sunlight, with surface temperatures hovering around minus thirty degrees Celsius, and most of them were still dressed in the attire from Mechanical Star—shorts and short-sleeved shirts, bare-armed in the icy wilderness.

After the spaceship had landed, their arrogant air disappeared without a trace, and all the bold words spoken during the flight seemed to become mere bubbles.

They had originally imagined that upon entering the prison, they would be treated like heroes, just like in prison-themed movies; a notorious Cosmic Pirate Group, having opposed corporations for years and plundered countless planets, would quickly turn the prison filled with villains into their own turf.

But now, they were somewhat afraid.

This godforsaken place seemed unlike any prison depicted in the movies.

There were no iron bars, no excited inmates crowding around to watch them, only the endless white snow and a desolate lighthouse.

The pirates eventually entered the entrance beneath the lighthouse, where there was an elevator that took them down to the fiftieth sublevel, according to the digital display.

They didn’t know how deep the prison actually was or how many prisoners it held, but when the elevator doors opened again, what greeted them on the other side were cold mechanical beings, which had only human silhouettes but no facial features. Their cold mechanical arms pressed down on their shoulders, and one of the robots, after scanning Duan Mingyuan, said with a synthesized mechanical voice, "Identity recognized, Duan Mingyuan, resident of Blue Star, thank you for your cooperation in being transported, please follow us."

Then came the final check before officially entering the prison; the official website of Prison Planet mentioned that once past the gate on the other side, it was not so easy to get out.

So far, only three prisoners had managed to escape to this point through rioting, yet their jailbreak plans all ended at the elevator leading to the surface.

Two of them fell back into despair, while one, with astonishing willpower, climbed up to the surface barehanded; regrettably, the snow and ice of Prison Planet put an end to his dream of escape.

The robots lined up the prisoners and fitted them each with a metal collar.

The official website of Prison Planet had introduced these distinctive collars; once locked on, there was no way to remove them before the sentence was served.

The collars were equipped with tracking devices and life-detection devices, meaning no matter where prisoners hid, they would be found immediately, and it also effectively prevented desperate prisoners from committing suicide in some unmanned corner.

The only death allowed in the Prison Planet’s jail was a natural one.

Or, in other words, dying of old age after enduring countless torments and suffering within the prison.

The atmosphere among the queued prisoners was extremely oppressive, and no one spoke again. Duan Mingyuan stood at the end of the line, suddenly feeling like these pirates being escorted by the machines were like livestock being driven to the slaughterhouse.

After a short while, the pirate at the front of the line walked into the gate.

His crimes were displayed on the screen.

Murder, plundering wealth, abducting women...

The screen meticulously listed his crimes along with the dates they were committed. He had committed every crime you could imagine, and unsurprisingly, his sentence had reached 412 years.

A countdown of 412 years appeared on the collar.

This meant the pirate would spend the rest of his life in prison.

Duan Mingyuan watched as his figure disappeared on the other side of the gate, immediately followed by the second prisoner being sent in.

Every cohort of prisoners’ admission was broadcast live, and the official site was now streaming the scene here.

Until finally, someone couldn’t stand the oppressive atmosphere any longer, and suddenly lashed out, desperately slamming into the mechanical being beside him.
