Elsa nodded sympathetically, her eyes filled with warmth and understanding.
Her voice was gentle, soothing, as if she wanted to wrap him in comfort with her words alone.
"Would you want something to eat to cheer you up?" she asked softly, tilting her head slightly as she studied you with concern. "I made something special just for you."
There was a quiet eagerness in her voice, a hope that perhaps this small gesture could bring even the slightest bit of joy to your day.
"We did," Ana said with a hiss, eyeing her with clear irritation.
Her arms were crossed tightly over her chest, and her expression was anything but amused.
Elsa rolled her eyes, exhaling as if she’d heard this argument too many times before. "I did," she corrected, her voice light but laced with playful smugness. Then, with a small tilt of her head, she added, "With a little contribution from her."
Ana’s glare deepened, but Elsa merely smiled, unbothered. It was clear that this was not the first time they had gone back and forth like this, and it certainly wouldn’t be the last.
"It was not a little!" Ana snapped, her eyes flashing with frustration. She uncrossed her arms and took a step closer, her tone sharp with indignation. "I put in as much work!"
Elsa raised an eyebrow, unimpressed. She let out a small, knowing hum, as if debating whether to argue further or let Ana have her moment.
Ana, however, wasn’t backing down. Her posture was rigid, her fists clenched at her sides as she waited for Elsa to admit the truth, or at least acknowledge her effort. But knowing Elsa, that wasn’t going to happen so easily.
Elsa smirked, shaking her head. "Your ’work’ almost ruined the food," she said matter-of-factly, crossing her arms. "You’re lucky I even count your efforts."
"What did you say!?", Anna asked squaring at her
"Ladies," Gon cut in, his voice calm but firm. His gaze flickered between the two of them, his expression unreadable.
He had been watching their back-and-forth long enough, and while their bickering was amusing, it was getting a little out of hand.
Elsa and Ana immediately fell silent, exchanging a brief glance before lowering their heads slightly. "Sorry, Master Gon," they both murmured quietly, their voices nearly in unison.
The tension in the air shifted, the sharp edges of their argument dulling as they acknowledged his presence.
Elsa crossed her arms but said nothing more, while Ana huffed under her breath, still not entirely over it.
Gon studied them for a moment, then sighed.
"It’s fine, just bring the food for me," Gon said, his tone even but firm. He wasn’t interested in their argument, he just wanted to eat.
"Okay Lord Gon", Ana and Elsa said in unison while exchanging glances before quickly moving to obey.
They moved towards the door, their small argument momentarily forgotten. But just as Elsa reached for the handle, the door was suddenly pushed open.
As the door opened, a young guard stepped in, his breathing slightly uneven, as if he had hurried to get there.
His uniform was slightly disheveled, and a thin sheen of sweat clung to his forehead.
Elsa and Ana instinctively straightened, their previous squabble now completely forgotten.
The next series of actions played out like a movie.
In a single fluid motion, Gon activated his Shadow Step, vanishing from where he stood.
A rush of air followed, his movement too fast for the eye to track.
Before the guard could react, Gon was already upon him. His hand gripped the hilt of his sword, drawing it in one swift motion as he closed the distance.
With a sudden burst of speed, he seized the guard by the collar and slammed him against the wall.
The force rattled the wooden panels, dust shaking loose from the ceiling.
The guard let out a choked gasp, his eyes wide with shock and confusion.
The cold edge of Gon’s blade pressed lightly against his throat, not enough to wound but enough to remind him of the deadly force he was up against.
Elsa, Ana and the guard barely had time to process what had happened.
One moment, Gon had been sitting calmly, and the next, he had turned into a blur of motion, pinning the guard in the blink of an eye.
"Oww!" the guard cried out in pain as his head slammed hard against the wall.
A sharp jolt ran through his skull, making his vision blur for a moment.
He winced, instinctively raising a shaky hand to the back of his head, but he didn’t dare move too much with Gon’s sword still pressed against his throat.
His breathing was ragged, chest rising and falling rapidly as he tried to steady himself.
"What did I say about not knocking before you enter?!" Gon growled, his voice low and dangerous.
His grip on the guard’s collar tightened slightly, and his sword remained steady, its cold steel pressing lightly against the young man’s skin.
The guard let out a panicked whimper, his hands shaking at his sides.
His heart pounded in his chest, his mind racing for an escape from the terrifying presence before him. "I’m sorry!" he cried out in fear. "You didn’t tell me anything! It was someone else!"
Gon’s eyes narrowed slightly, his sharp gaze studying the guard’s terrified expression.
His breathing was still controlled, his posture unwavering.
The sheer authority in his stance made it clear that he wasn’t entirely convinced.
Gon tightened his grip, his eyes dark and unwavering. "Well, I’m telling you now," he said, his voice dangerously low. "And tell every other guard in the castle, knock before you enter."
The guard nodded frantically, his head bobbing up and down like a terrified puppet. "Y-yes, Master Gon! I swear, I’ll tell them! It won’t happen again!" he stammered, his voice barely holding together.
Gon held his gaze for a moment longer, letting the weight of his words sink in.
Then, with a quiet exhale, he finally relaxed his grip, releasing the guard from his iron hold.
He pulled back his sword, though the tension in his stance remained.
