Chapter 78: Kissing Celia again
Besides, he had complimented her, and that added another layer to the complexity of the situation.
Gon had told her that he only turned to admire her beauty, not to kiss her.
His words, though simple, held a sincerity that Celia couldn’t easily dismiss.
She could feel the weight of his intention behind them, he wasn’t trying to make excuses for what had happened.
He wasn’t minimizing it or playing it off as a harmless mistake.
Instead, he was admitting that it had been an accidental misstep, one that had come from being captivated by her presence, by how she looked in that moment.
And she loved his flattery.
Despite the frustration swirling inside her, despite the confusion and uncertainty, there was a part of Celia that couldn’t help but feel a flutter of warmth at his words.
His compliment had been sincere, and even if she was trying her best to stay composed, she couldn’t deny how good it felt to be admired in such an unexpected, unguarded way.
There was something about Gon’s genuine attention, the way he’d spoken about her beauty, that made her heart race just a little faster.
She decided to believe and forgive him.
"It’s fine," she said, her voice softer now, her tension easing. She uncrossed her arms, feeling the weight that had been hanging over her start to lift. "Mistakes like that happen."
"Thank you". Gon said, still having the picture of innocence on his face.
"I really enjoyed kissing you though, Celia," he said, his voice a little quieter now, almost tentative, as if he were testing the waters.
He paused, watching her carefully, his usual confidence replaced by a touch of uncertainty.
There was a noticeable hesitation in his eyes, a subtle fear that lingered just beneath the surface, as if he was bracing himself for an outburst.
Celia stared at him through the side of her eye, her eyebrows furrowing slightly. "You did?" she asked in a surprised tone, as if his words had caught her off guard.
Gon nodded slowly, his voice almost dreamlike as he spoke. "It was heavenly and divine," he said, his eyes looking distant for a moment as though he were remembering the moment in vivid detail. "And your lips... they were soft and delicious." His tone had a quiet intensity to it now, almost as if he was speaking more to himself than to her, as if trying to grasp the full weight of the experience that had caught him so off guard.
"It was?" Celia asked incredulously, her tone sharp, the surprise evident in her voice.
"Yes it was". Gon replied. "It was beautiful."
"It was only a short kiss, though," Celia said, her voice tinged with a mix of confusion and curiosity. She crossed her arms again, this time more out of habit than any defensive posture. Her gaze was steady as she looked at him, searching for something more behind his words. "It was barely even a second."
"I know and it was still perfect". He replied.
This statement warmed Celia’s heart, the unexpected sincerity in Gon’s words slowly melting the cool distance she had kept between them.
It had been a while since she had received such genuine compliments.
Celia moved closer to Gon, her steps slow but deliberate, her presence wrapping around him like a soft breeze.
Her eyes locked onto his, and for a moment, there was a quiet understanding between them, the air thick with unspoken tension.
She could feel the pulse of the moment, the change in their dynamic, and for the first time, she allowed herself to lean into it.
"How about you get another one?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper, but laced with a teasing warmth. She tilted her head slightly, a playful glint in her eyes that softened her words. "A longer one this time?"
Gon swallowed, his throat suddenly dry. This was moving faster than he had anticipated, his heart pounding in his chest, but there was no denying the rush of excitement that flooded through him.
He had never expected things to escalate so quickly, but now that they were, he couldn’t help but feel incredibly grateful for the acceleration.
He looked at Celia, who was now towering over him, her presence almost overwhelming in its intensity.
There was something in her gaze that stopped him in his tracks, something soft yet undeniably powerful.
Her eyes, usually so controlled and composed, were now filled with a subtle warmth, a hint of admiration that seemed to radiate from her.
"Yes, I would," Gon said, his voice steady but laced with a certain warmth, as though the words held more weight than he intended.
He gazed at Celia, his eyes softening, a subtle smile curling at the corners of his lips. In that moment, he couldn’t help but wonder what kind of person could refuse someone like her.
Celia smiled, the corners of her lips curving up with a mix of amusement and something deeper, something more playful.
Then, without warning, she bent low, her body moving with a grace that seemed to slow time itself.
She closed the distance between them until her face was directly in front of his, her breath warm against his skin, sending a wave of electricity through Gon’s body.
And without a single word more, Celia leaned in, her movements fluid and deliberate.
Gon’s breath caught in his chest as he felt the air between them shift once again, a gentle anticipation hanging in the space.
Her lips brushed against his, light at first, testing, as though giving him a moment to process the gravity of what was happening.
Then her kiss deepened, slow and sure, as if she had been waiting for this very moment.
Gon could sense the increasing urgency in Celia’s kiss, her body becoming more charged with each passing moment. Her lips were plump and eager, her tongue exploring the caverns of his mouth with wild abandon. The passion between them seemed to intensify with every heartbeat, the heat of their bodies threatening to singe the sheets beneath them.
It was as if an invisible fire burned in the space between them, its flames stoking a growing inferno of lust that consumed every fiber of their being.
