Chapter 442: Chapter 269: You, Go Assassinate the Holy Dragon!

"Have the gods become so magnanimous these days?"

Noah, upon noticing the unusual movements of the Church of All Gods within his realm, and their collective investigation of the border court where he had openly performed a Divine Descent, began to look forward to what would happen.

For all those collecting faith and attempting to ignite the Divine Fire to become an Ascender, the gods have a unified attitude, which is to mobilize all worldly powers to exterminate them, including but not limited to performing a Divine Descent at critical moments.

Noah had heard that across the major planes, there exists a special group dedicated to hunting pseudo-gods and demigods, primarily composed of high-rank legends from various churches. In other words, the background of this god-hunting group is the gods themselves.

Legends joining this group can even temporarily set aside prejudices born of faith to reach a consensus on hunting Ascenders, cooperating with each other to achieve mutual benefits.

Of course, the true gods deny the existence of such a group. Worshiping legends of them cannot live in harmony with the followers of evil deities, let alone cooperate on any matter.

Thus, even the Dragon Clan with their long heritage cannot confirm the existence of this group, only aware of certain hearsay rumors.

But it is certain that indeed some notable and eagerly anticipated Ascenders encountered unknown forces and were tragically killed.

The path to becoming a god is destined to be immensely challenging. Ascenders, from the very start, violate the core interests of the gods, naturally inviting their ruthless annihilation.

Noah was not trying to challenge the legendary god-hunting group; he was merely curious about the gods’ reaction. It cannot be denied that there is a thrill in challenging taboos.

Because he has no plans for a Divine Enthronement, merely able to utilize the Power of Faith, this does touch upon the gods’ Domain, but does not reach their core interest.

In some sense, this is a misunderstanding, but the gods have always preferred to err on the side of destroying any mortals they perceive as threats to their status, rather than letting them go.

Thus, Noah was eagerly anticipating the gods’ reaction, but the problem was he waited for a long time, until the judicial purging in his domain was nearly over.

As the Paladins in reserve and the relatively younger Paladins started taking over tasks to reconstruct the order, everything was about to end without any reaction from the gods. Even the vibrant, somewhat restless Church turned quiet.

This disappointed Noah greatly, prompting him to lament that the gods now don’t align with his understanding. He remembered the gods to be exceptionally ruthless and merciless in this aspect.

"This is a Dragon Hunting Arrow forged enough to slay an Ancient Giant Dragon. The arrow shaft is crafted from the fragments of a Main Battle Divine Artifact used by a long-fallen deity.

Although the Divinity has long dissipated and there is no Divine Power to nourish it, it can still easily penetrate the Dragon Scales of Ancient Dragons, even the Golden Dragons are no exception."

In the chamber plastered with Holy Word Runes, the face of an old bishop, withered and aged like deadwood, wearing gloves blessed by the Divine, carefully extracted a crossbow arrow shrouded in ominous black-red aura from a long box engraved with numerous Holy Word Runes using tools, placing it on the stone table before him, his actions exceptionally cautious, as if before him lay a highly toxic substance that would turn to ash upon a mere touch.

"Is this forged from Divine Artifact Fragments?"

Sitting opposite the bishop, a legend with his face covered by a black-gold mask examined the monstrous object before him. His concealed facial muscles twitched involuntarily, for at this moment, every part of his being trembled and clamored, alerting him to steer clear of this arrow,

"Which evil deity’s artifact remains is this from?"

"Not an evil deity, but a True God with the Divine Position of [Hunting]. It’s just that too much time has passed since his demise, causing his artifact to lose its radiance.

This is insignificant. The Divine Artifact Fragment merely serves as the base material for crafting this Dragon Hunting Arrow, enough to penetrate the defense of any Dragon Species."

The old bishop corrected, as he once again began recounting the origin of this fearsome object,

"What truly causes the Ancient Giant Dragon to fall to its demise is its arrowhead, a Dragon Fall Crystal formed from the aggregated Dragon Souls filled with resentment and hatred from one hundred and eighteen tormented Evil Dragons."

Listening to the old bishop’s account, the Dragon Hunters gathered looked at the arrowhead with its black crystal texture, noting that the ominous black aura winding around the arrow shaft all stemmed from this.

Upon closer inspection, it seemed as if the particles forming the black fog were manifesting as howling and roaring Dragon Bone skeletons, full of darkness, resentment, and malice... all the world’s hatred and loathing for the Dragon Species seemed focused here.

"However, the core of the Dragon Devouring Arrow is the blessing from three individuals with the Divine Position of [Hunting], notably from one who’s Main Divine Position is [Dragon Hunting]. The weapons blessed by him are the top-tier Dragon Hunting Treasures in the world."

"Is this arrow single-use?"

After hearing the old bishop’s explanation, the Dragon Hunter dispatched to this place queried.

"Of course it’s single-use, did you expect to retrieve it after firing? Are you not afraid of being torn apart by the favored of that Dragon?"

Surprise surfaced on the old bishop’s face,
