Godly Revival System: I Buy My Killer's Stats
Chapter 440: Undead God: Necrothis

Chapter 440: Undead God: Necrothis

The Green Corpse Emperor.

Ethan had finally seen him.

Even though the towering undead figure stood far outside the stronghold, the moment he stepped out of the dark rift, the entire world seemed to fall into stillness.

Ethan’s sharp eyes locked onto the bloated figure cloaked in thick death energy, and the crown on his head pulsed with a sickly green light.

Every inch of the Emperor’s flesh oozed decay. Cracks split his pale, swollen skin, leaking streams of glowing ichor that burned the very ground it touched.

Yet it wasn’t his appearance that made Ethan’s heart skip a beat—it was the aura.

The Green Corpse Emperor wasn’t even inside the stronghold, and yet... the pressure the Green Corpse Emperor emitted made the entire ancient fortress tremble.

If this were any other Golden Core cultivator standing in Ethan’s place, they would have dropped to their knees with their spirit broken and heart crushed under despair.

But Ethan... stood tall thanks to the special effect under his Special Talent [I am Your Killer - Predator’s Spirit].

As the Green Corpse Emperor’s dreadful aura swept over the land, Ethan’s body remained utterly still.

No trembling. No fear. No wavering of will as his cold eyes locked onto the tyrant of death.

"Who said I will be fighting you? It is them."

Ethan knew that even if he broke through to the Nascent Soul Realm, there was no way he could win against the Green Corpse Emperor, whose strength is beyond the Nascent Soul Realm.

However, it was not a problem for the Ancient Treant Guardians and the Ancient Heartwood Tree.

Of course, the Ancient Heartwood Tree needed to have a sufficient lifespan, and Ethan had a plan for it.

Thus, Ethan pointed at the Ancient Treant Guardians and the Ancient Heartwood Tree and shrugged his hands.

"...Hah... Ahahaha..." NovelFire

A slow, guttural laughter echoed through the blood-soaked air.

"Interesting," the Green Corpse Emperor spoke at last, his eyes narrowing as he observed Ethan more seriously. "You’re able to stand firm under my aura with such pitiful strength. Not bad."

His gaze then shifted to the Ancient Heartwood Tree and the Ancient Treant Guardians before Ethan.

"And you even restored that old tree’s lifespan... in less than two days... no... a few months according to the Greenheart Realm."

"Also, you destroyed my entire army of ghouls, spectral knights, and skeletons, without even breaking a sweat in less than 30 minutes."

The towering undead overlord praised Ethan for his achievements in the Greenheart Realm.

Then, he leaned slightly forward, and a hideous grin appeared across his rotting face. "It seems you have the backing of a rather powerful god... one similar to mine."

’Huh?’

Ethan’s eyes flickered with alertness.

"Although you are weak... You are qualified to know my name."

The Corpse Emperor continued with a wicked glint flashing in his hollow gaze as a pulse of dark green energy erupted around him.

In the next second, he raised his hand and gestured toward himself and introduced himself, "I am Vroth, the Green Corpse Emperor—and I serve the Undead God Necrothis."

Then, without missing a beat, Vroth tilted his head ever so slightly and spoke again, his tone sharp and curious: "What about you?"

’Huh?’ Ethan’s brow arched slightly, and then—he got it. ’He thinks I’m an apostle too and wants to know which god is backing me.’

However, Ethan didn’t bother to explain.

Although there was still no proof that the Godly Revival System was a power related to a god, Ethan already considered it a god and believed he was an apostle to it.

However, the Godly Revival System had never said anything about itself, and its origins are still a mystery to him.

So, Ethan had no clue about the creator of the system, whom Ethan believes is a God, and even if he knew the name of the God, there was no way he would casually say it to every other apostle he encountered.

"It is not a friendly war to introduce each other."

Nevertheless, Ethan didn’t bother to share all his thoughts; instead, he replied in a disgusted tone, "I don’t want my name to be spoken by a rotting thing like you."

The Green Corpse Emperor’s twisted, amusing smile disappeared as a flicker of green flame ignited in his eyes.

"You insolent little insect..."

Vroth’s voice turned colder, heavier, and echoed with killing intent. "You dare speak to me, the Great Vroth, the Green Corpse Emperor, in that tone?"

The already darkened sky turned pitch-black as the air thickened with corpse qi.

"Once you’re dead, I’ll make sure to extract the [God Mark] from your soul and raise you as my personal Undead Apostle. You’ll serve me with that sharp tongue of yours sewn shut."

Vroth snarled, lifting one hand as if to make an oath.

Since only the ones with potential could become a God’s Apostle, the Green Corpse Emperor was very much interested in turning Ethan into an Undead Being under him and thus, he even swore an oath about it.

However, on the other hand, Ethan simply pinched his nose like he had caught the stench of a rotting carcass and scoffed, "For that, you’d need to kill me first... rotting b*stard."

"Damn you..." he hissed, his voice no longer regal, but primal because Ethan’s words and actions shattered whatever calm Vroth had left. NovelFire

Soon, rage erupted across his face, his corpse-flesh stretching grotesquely, "I’ll show you my true power before letting despair swallow you whole. Only then will I kill you."

"RISE, MY UNDEAD ARMY!"

In the next second, the Purple Crown on his head shone brightly like a dying star.

Soon after, a wave of eerie light rolled across the battlefield, and then Ethan witnessed a shocking scene that he was not expecting to see at all.

From the death-soaked soil, the torn bodies of ghouls and the shattered armours of Spectral Death Knights twitched as they flew to the Green Corpse Emperor.

They were all covered in a purple halo light emitted by the Purple Crown as the bodies of the Undead Beings, like Ghouls and the Spectral Death Knights, started regenerating at an incredible speed.

In less than two minutes, the full armies of the two Undead Races under the Green Corpse Emperor were fully revived.

"Your Majesty... thank you for reviving us."

The three Ghoul Warlords and the Great Spectral Death Knight Eaden hurriedly bowed to the Green Corpse Emperor and respectfully thanked him along with their armies.

"T-This... how is this possible?"

Seeing that scene, a shiver passed through Ethan’s spine, and at the same time, his mind flashed back to the final moments of the Spectral Death Knight before he was slain—"Do you really think you’ve killed us? KEKE..."

Now it made sense.

Everything they did before... the brutal slaughter, the relentless attacks... it had all been meaningless. It was a fully planned trap.

They weren’t just soldiers who died to reduce the lifespan of the Ancient Heartwood Tree; instead, ’They were sacrifices waiting for resurrection.’

"Huh? Where are the Skeletal Beings? Why are they not revived?"

While Ethan was still in shock, the Green Corpse Emperor could not help but frown at the sight of the missing Skeletal Army among the revived Undead Beings.

"Don’t tell me... they formed an alliance with that human and the Ancient Heartwood Tree?"
