God-Tier Extraction Talent: Reincarnated in a Game-like World! -
Chapter 83: Exploring the New Perks
Chapter 83: Exploring the New Perks
Gabriel had thought his talent was already at its peak, and to be honest, he was quite content with this. The drop rate in the Realm of Ascendancy was really low, both for players and NPCs alike.
And in a world like this, he was granted a Talent that not only guaranteed constant drops but also Attribute points as long as he had enough Extraction Points.
Never did he think the already powerful God-tier Talent could still level up.
Because he wasn’t too familiar with his talent, he didn’t dare stay inside the car. He quickly left in a hurry, confusing Alice.
"Is he that eager to get away from me?" she thought with a small frown on her face, watching his back disappear amongst the crowd of adventurers.
"Meh, with time he would come around." She shrugged her shoulders and then went to meet up with Scarlet and Lilly.
"How many minutes did he take?" Scarlet asked.
"Not asking if he passed or failed, huh?" Alice replied, smirking.
Scarlet didn’t respond, her expression remaining unchanged. Seeing this, Alice hissed in annoyance but wore a serious expression and began to narrate everything that happened.
"1:45 minutes?" Scarlet asked in a slightly stunned voice. Even for her, that was extremely fast. Unless she brute-forced her way, it might take longer for someone with hero status such as hers.
"Well, the guards weren’t that powerful to begin with," Alice said. "The only people that might’ve given him a headache were the two martial artists and Vellin himself, but he cleverly dealt with those ones even before they could fight."
"Is that all?" Scarlet asked, eyes fixed on the report Alice had written. She read through the report with a straight face, but when she got to the ending, one of her eyes twitched.
He’s a jerk, doesn’t know how to be a gentleman! Sometimes I doubt his sexual preference, he didn’t even look at me even for onc—
She stopped reading and glanced up at Alice, who had a wronged expression on her face.
"Well, he was being a jerk," she said, playing with her hair as she added, "Can I go now?"
"Yes, you’re dismissed."
After Alice left, Scarlet turned to Lilly.
"How did the evaluation for Anna Montreal go?"
"Smoothly," Lilly replied, then a thoughtful look crossed her face. "Though I was slightly curious why Sophie insisted on evaluating her."
Lilly quickly moved on from the thought and said, "But with her, we now have at least five Level 50s in the guild."
"Good," Scarlet said, her face extremely serious. "Keep on recruiting more promising Awakened. The event is drawing closer."
"Understood." Lilly nodded. Their opponents were, after all, the Five Major Guilds. They needed to give it their best.
While Lilly and Scarlet were discussing, Gabriel arrived in front of the door. However, someone was already there.
"Anna."
Anna smiled brightly. "Master, how did your evaluation go?"
"Fine," he replied. "Since you’re here as well, I guess you did great too."
"Y-Yes, I did great, though I think my evaluator was a little bit too kind and even helped me," she said, recalling the veiled woman that had shown up in front of her door.
After a short chat with his maid, Gabriel entered his room and quickly summoned his system status.
[Unlocked Perk: Rank Revelation]
[You can now view the Rarity and Rank of all Extraction Options.]
A sharp glint flashed in his electric blue eyes. ’This means I’ll no longer have to guess if something’s Rare or just Uncommon.’
All this while, he had been guessing blindly based on the name, but now the ranks would be indicated alongside the items or skills.
The next perk was:
[Unlocked Perk: Fusion]
[You can now fuse two compatible skills into a stronger version. The original skills will be consumed upon fusion. Note: Fusion is upgradable.]
His eyes glinted when he saw this perk. Among the two unlocked perks, this was the one he was most excited about.
All those low-tier skills he had been ignoring—he could now use them as base materials to create stronger ones.
For instance, there was Tough Skin, which he had avoided because of its low rank and its similar effect to Carapace Skin.
Without hesitation, he tapped the [Fusion] tab, and a new interface appeared.
[Select two compatible skills to begin fusion. Skills must be of the same category and similar functionality. Resulting skill will adopt the higher rank + enhanced effects. Note: To fuse, you need to learn the skill.]
Gabriel currently had one skill slot left for his current level, but he didn’t shy away from using it.
He brought out the skill scrolls and learned it.
[Tough Skin LV.1]
[Rarity: Uncommon]
[Description: Temporarily hardens the user’s body, reducing all incoming physical damage by 15% for 10 seconds. Cooldown: 60 seconds.]
---
[Carapace Skin LV.1]
[Rarity: Rare]
[Description: Allows the user to harden a single part of their body with insectoid armor. Can withstand physical attacks below your level and up to two levels above.]
[Confirm fusion? Cost: 20 EP]
"Yes," he nodded.
---
[Ding! You have unlocked Iron Body (Elite)]
[Iron Body LV.1]
[Rarity: Elite]
[Description: Temporarily reinforces the user’s skin, reducing all physical damage taken by 20% and allowing the body to withstand attacks from enemies up to 3 levels higher. Duration: 12 seconds. Cooldown: 120 seconds.]
A satisfied grin appeared on his face. ’Not bad at all.’
An Epic-ranked defensive skill this early? That was almost unheard of—especially for non-tank classes like his. It was a solid trump card for emergencies, especially since it reduced all physical damage and not just basic strikes.
Gabriel stayed awake that night and played with the system more. He realized that the more he used his talent, the more experience it would gain.
The next day, he woke up and went to train with Edgar. After an intense session of training, he went to the quest board in the Elite Section to keep himself busy.
However, just as he stepped inside the Adventure Guild, he noticed a loud crowd gathered at the front, all of them talking at once.
"Why do you think they’re here?"
"So you think they’d cause trouble?"
Hearing the whispers, Gabriel became even more curious and pushed his way to the front to see the person who had caught everyone’s attention.
