Chapter 562: Chapter 563 Tielan Temple_1

At around three ten in the afternoon, the car finally arrived at Tianshan.

One by one, everyone got out of the car, and many couldn’t help but come over to greet Li Changlin and Ye Xiyao.

Even a few young people went so far as to ask for Ye Xiyao’s autograph.

Ye Xiyao felt embarrassed to refuse, so she agreed to everyone’s request.

Seeing that quite a few people were getting eager, Li Changlin hurriedly waved his hands and said, "Alright, alright, everyone, let’s find accommodation first."

Hearing what Li Changlin said, people felt too embarrassed to put forward any more invitations, so everyone began discussing where to stay.

"Brother Changlin, let’s go straight to Tianchi," Ye Xiyao said, tugging at Li Changlin’s arm while everyone else was distracted.

"It’s almost half-past three now," Li Changlin said, slightly startled, then spoke in a low voice, "Tianchi is still so far away, we should just go tomorrow."

"The reporters might come tomorrow." Ye Xiyao was here at Tianchi to pray for blessings, and she didn’t want the reporters to delay her schedule.

Understanding her words, Li Changlin too realized it was a troublesome matter.

Thinking that it wouldn’t take long to ride a horse to Tianchi, and that Tielan Temple was not far from Tianchi, he thought they could just stay overnight there.

"Okay, then we’ll rent horses." After pondering for a while, Li Changlin agreed to Ye Xiyao’s suggestion, and the two of them picked up their luggage and quietly left the crowd.

At that moment, everyone was busy discussing accommodation and didn’t notice the two leaving.

By the time the young woman who had been keeping an eye on Li Changlin realized what was happening, he and Ye Xiyao had already rented horses and set off.

From the base of the mountain to Tianchi was still a considerable distance, so Li Changlin and Ye Xiyao rented three horses and also hired a guide.

The guide was also from the horse rental company, and he could take the horses back afterward. It would only cost two hundred yuan for an afternoon, which was quite affordable.

The three of them made a beeline for Tianchi, and along the way, Li Changlin also inquired about some information regarding Tianchi.

When Tielan Temple was mentioned, the guide said he had been there a few times, and it was about twenty li away from Tianchi.

Riding horses, there was no need to exert much effort.

However, the mountain wind carried a chill, and Li Changlin, fearing that Ye Xiyao would get cold, dismounted halfway and added an extra coat for her.

In about an hour, the trio arrived at Tianchi.

The terrain here was somewhat flatter, and according to the guide, if they continued walking south from Tianchi, they could reach Tielan Temple in about two hours.

Although Tielan Temple was only about twenty li away from Tianchi, they were riding the horses at a regular pace, which naturally took quite some time.

To reach Tielan Temple before dark, the three of them did not stop when they passed through Tianchi.

Finally, when it was almost dark, they arrived at Tielan Temple.

By then, it was nearly six-thirty, and the temple gates were already closed. All three dismounted, and the guide quickly ran to the door.

Boom, boom, boom!

He raised his hand and knocked forcefully.

"Coming, coming!" After knocking for about two minutes, someone finally ran out from inside.

With a creak, a young monk, about fourteen or fifteen years old, opened the door and poked his head out, asking, "Patron, may I assist you with something?"

"Greetings, Little Master, we have come especially to Tielan Temple to pray for blessings." By this time, Li Changlin had already tethered his mount and, carrying his luggage, walked over with Ye Xiyao.

"To come and pray for blessings so late!" the little monk blinked in surprise but soon responded, "Please come in, it’s cold outside. We can’t perform Buddhist rituals tonight, but tomorrow, my senior brothers will assist the three patrons."

While speaking, the little monk pushed the door open wider.

"Thank you," Li Changlin quickly expressed his gratitude, and then he remembered something else, "Little Master, our mounts, is there a place to accommodate them?"

After all, it was too cold outside; of course, they couldn’t leave the horses out to freeze.

"Wait a moment and I will help the patrons with that," the little monk looked up and then made a gesture of invitation, "Please, patrons, enter."

Li Changlin expressed his thanks again, then, leading Ye Xiyao by the hand, they walked through the gate.

Behind them, the guide hurriedly followed suit.

The little monk did not close the gate but turned and led the three to the guest quarters.

"Huiming, who are they?" As they passed a pavilion on the way, a voice suddenly rang out from within.

Li Changlin was slightly taken aback; the voice seemed familiar, so he couldn’t help but turn his head to look over.

He saw a monk in the pavilion holding a broom, looking their way.

"Senior brother, these three have come to pray for blessings. As it’s already late, I am taking them to the guest rooms first," the little monk Huiming replied respectfully, turning his head.

"Understood, go ahead," the man glanced sideways at Li Changlin and the others, his expression suddenly changing as he quickly lowered his head, appearing to recognize them.

"Strange, it seems he recognizes me!" Originally, Li Changlin was already feeling somewhat puzzled, but seeing the other’s reaction intensified his doubt.

Who exactly was this person, and why did Li Changlin feel as though he had heard his voice somewhere before?

Li Changlin knitted his brows slightly, but in the moment he couldn’t puzzle it out.

Seeing that the little monk had resumed walking, Li Changlin, without time to dwell on it, led Ye Xiyao quickly to catch up.

Soon, they reached a row of guest rooms.

"Patrons, these guest rooms are all vacant, not currently occupied by anyone; you may choose any room," the little monk Huiming pointed at the guest rooms in front of them, then continued, "I assume the patrons have not dined yet. I will go and prepare your dinner promptly. Shortly, you may dine over there."

Although young, Huiming was quite adept at handling his duties; it was clear he was accustomed to welcoming guests in this manner.

"Very well, thank you for the trouble, Little Master," Li Changlin nodded slightly, and after the little monk left, the three chose their rooms.

"Brother Changlin, I, I would like to stay with you," Ye Xiyao bit her lip and spoke softly as the guide entered another room.

"Okay." Having already shared a bed, Li Changlin naturally did not mind these little formalities.

So, the two of them chose a room and settled in.

Before long, Huiming’s voice was heard again, as he had prepared a simple meal and brought it over.

Consequently, the three of them left their rooms to proceed to the dining room, where Huiming had already set the table with the simple meal.

Since it was unprepared, the dinner for the three was a bowl of plain noodles, Li Changlin and the others naturally did not complain, as guests follow the host’s lead.
