Chapter 1254: Chapter 1248: Zhiwei Encounters Trouble

"No way, Master, you’re being way too hasty about this." Seeing Li Changlin grab a pen and start writing without a word, Yang Fei was utterly dumbfounded.

He knew his master was talented, but talent didn’t work like this, did it?

Just now, you said you could barely remember anything, and now you’re writing like you’re possessed? What the hell?

Yang Fei felt his brain spinning, so he couldn’t help but step closer to take a look.

"Writing a song is all about capturing the right mood. And right now, this situation is perfect for writing one for you." Li Changlin didn’t even lift his head as he spoke, his hand continuing to move across the page.

In no time, he finished both the lyrics and the score for a song. With a swift tear, he ripped the page from the notebook and handed it to Yang Fei.

"Here, practice this properly. This song is absolutely perfect for you."

"Uh..." Yang Fei was at a loss for words. He quickly accepted the sheet and lowered his head to study it.

Though Yang Fei hadn’t formally studied music at a conservatory, he was still half a professional at least.

Glancing at the lyrics on the paper, he hummed a couple of lines based on the notation.

Instantly, something stirred within him. He felt as though the song had been crafted specifically for him. Immediately, he looked up and said, "Master, thank you."

"Alright, don’t dilly-dally. Get going now—don’t disturb Tian Yi’s rest." Li Changlin waved him off dismissively. Yang Fei responded hurriedly and left the hospital room in a rush.

Once Yang Fei was gone, Li Changlin thought for a moment before pulling out his phone to call Ye Xiyao.

He had brought everyone out on a mission, and he knew Ye Xiyao and the others must be worried. Of course, he had to let them know he was safe.

This night was bound to be anything but ordinary.

After parting with Li Changlin, Zhou Xingxing, along with Zhou Wendong and the others, quickly regrouped with Orange and the emergency response team. They then launched an all-out assault on the Xiang Family’s various businesses, either eliminating or capturing all of their Ancient Martial Cultivators.

The once-dominant Xiang Family, which had instilled fear throughout Shanghai City, fell in a single night. By the next morning, many people who showed up at the Xiang Family’s businesses for deals or discussions were met with surprise: every location had been sealed off with government notices.

Li Changlin, however, paid no mind to this. Early in the morning, Luo Tianyi woke up. Though her condition wasn’t great, it wasn’t critical either.

At Luo Tianyi’s insistence, Li Changlin helped her handle the hospital discharge procedures.

He had no choice. First, Tian Yi had commitments as a judge on "The Voice" to fulfill. Second, news of her hospitalization had already spread. If they didn’t leave soon, hordes of fans would likely show up.

Luo Tianyi had no desire to deal with such trouble, and Li Changlin naturally understood her feelings.

Yang Fei, on the other hand, wasn’t discharged. He had no option but to continue his frustrating stay at the hospital.

Before leaving, Li Changlin handed Yang Fei a Grass Revival Pill but warned him explicitly to only take it after reaching the Late Stage of Clear Energy. Otherwise, his body wouldn’t be able to handle the enormous surge in power, resulting in catastrophic consequences—literal obliteration.

In truth, Li Changlin had noticed that Yang Fei was on the verge of a breakthrough. Had that not been the case, he wouldn’t have left him the Grass Revival Pill.

After leaving the hospital, Luo Tianyi donned a mask, linked arms with Li Changlin like a lover, and said sweetly, "Brother Changlin, I want to stay with Sister Ye. Can you take me to her place?"

After everything that happened the previous day, Luo Tianyi had grown even more dependent on Li Changlin.

Li Changlin couldn’t bring himself to refuse her, so he smiled and agreed readily.

Luo Tianyi let out an excited cheer, flagged down a taxi, and had it take her to her hotel.

She needed to check out and retrieve her belongings before heading to Li Changlin’s place—after all, she’d need her clothes and essentials, wouldn’t she?

This delayed them briefly, and by the time they arrived at the hotel, it was already 11 a.m.

Luckily, before heading back, Li Changlin had called Ye Xiyao. She and the others had prepared an extra portion of food. When the two entered the room, Ye Xiyao, Lin Ruonan, and Qian Ziwei greeted them warmly and with smiles.

Luo Tianyi was already acquainted with Qian Ziwei and Ye Xiyao, but this was her first proper meeting with Lin Ruonan.

It could be called their first real introduction since Luo Tianyi had long known of Lin Ruonan as a public figure, while Ruonan had naturally heard much about Tian Yi from Ye Xiyao and Qian Ziwei.

Because Zhou Xingxing and company hadn’t yet returned, Bai Ziyu and Liao Momo also stayed in that day.

Everyone gathered for lunch, then hung around chatting. You know what they say: three women together create a drama. With five women and Liao Momo there, the room felt even livelier.

Amid the chatter, Li Changlin received a call from Yang Mingzhu, who sounded anxious as she told him the company was in trouble.

A few days ago, thanks to Huo Hongxing’s help, Zhiwei secured a plot of land in Shanghai City, and Yang Mingzhu had been busy organizing a big project.

But frustratingly, construction had been forced to halt on the second day.

A group of dozens of men, in matching uniforms and armed with steel pipes, stormed onto the site. They intimidated the workers into stopping, making it clear that anyone who resisted would be violently beaten.

In less than ten minutes, twenty to thirty workers were already injured. Rushing to the scene after hearing the news, Yang Mingzhu found herself at the mercy of their demands: pay one million yuan in protection fees or abandon the site altogether.

Refusing to give in, she focused on arranging for the injured workers to be hospitalized while simultaneously calling the police to report the situation.

Initially, the emergency line operator seemed quite thorough in gathering details. But then one of the gang members snatched her phone. Shouting into it, he declared, "We’re from the Shuiyun Gang. I suggest you mind your own damn business!"

With that, the man gruffly hung up, his arrogant demeanor practically radiating through the phone.

At first, Yang Mingzhu chuckled at his audacity. She’d seen arrogant people before but never anyone quite this over the top.

She assumed the police would respond promptly to such a blatant case. But to her shock, after nearly twenty minutes, not even the sound of a siren had been heard.

This left Yang Mingzhu deeply unsettled. Desperate, she dialed the police line again.

But what truly frustrated her was that this time, the line wouldn’t even connect.
