Chapter 586: Chapter 631: Unbearable, No Need to Endure Any Longer!
Returning to the hotel and opening the room door, Fang Yi found it pitch-dark inside. Yet, he sensed a fragrance wafting through the air, likely from someone’s bath.
Instantly, Fang Yi flicked on the light and saw a scene that almost made his blood boil.
A test of seduction?
Fang Yi smiled faintly and said, "Sorry, I’m too tired today. Can’t accommodate you. Maybe some other time."
I’m not falling for that one.
Having said that, Fang Yi walked straight into the room, while Su Ge’er’s demeanor changed completely, dropping her seductive air for a somewhat stern expression.
Fang Yi thought to himself how close a call that had been; he had almost been duped.
Sitting on the sofa, Fang Yi propped his feet up on the coffee table as Su Ge’er brewed him a cup of tea and handed it to him.
Chanting the Heart Clearing Technique silently, Fang Yi watched as Su Ge’er took a seat opposite him before he slowly asked, "So, how did things go today?"
Here, Fang Yi was naturally inquiring about how Su Ge’er’s attempt to seduce Cao Yongjun had fared.
Su Ge’er’s lips pouted slightly, almost coquettishly, as she said, "Not too well. If I couldn’t even charm the Alliance Hierarch, I doubt I had any effect on that Cao Yongjun."
"So you did all that just to test your own allure?" Fang Yi thought to himself again how close a call it had been.
With a regretful gleam in her eye, Su Ge’er threw Fang Yi a disapproving look, saying, "Such a pity the Alliance Hierarch isn’t easily fooled, huh?"
Fang Yi chuckled and replied, "Just because I’m not fooled doesn’t mean Cao Yongjun’s resolve is as strong as mine."
That was certainly true.
When it came to willpower, Cao Yongjun really couldn’t hold a candle to Fang Yi.
In a sweet voice, Su Ge’er said, "Alliance Hierarch, you’re so brave and valiant. Compared to you, that Cao Yongjun is like the difference between earth and heaven."
"Cut out the flattery," Fang Yi said, taking a sip of his tea. "Let’s talk business."
With a charming smile, Su Ge’er replied, "That Cao Yongjun is far more impatient than you, Alliance Hierarch. I barely fluttered my eyelashes at him and he was already over asking for my number. Now about giving out my phone number... what do you think, should I give it to him or not?" She wanted to tease Fang Yi a bit.
Fang Yi didn’t take the bait and said, "That’s for Sister Su to decide. I won’t get involved."
Su Ge’er rolled her eyes, oozing allure.
"By the way, Alliance Hierarch, where did you go today?" Su Ge’er asked.
"Me? Today I went to challenge some gyms and, just so you know, I’ve also become the Vice Hall Master of Thunderbolt Fist Gym," Fang Yi said with an air of mystery.
A look of surprise crossed Su Ge’er’s pretty face, her curiosity visibly piqued.
Fang Yi didn’t keep it secret, recounting to Su Ge’er everything that had happened in the gym alley that day. Her face was filled with shock as she looked at Fang Yi with a mix of admiration and astonishment.
"Choosing to collaborate with you back then really proves that my judgment was spot on," Su Ge’er laughed.
Fang Yi’s actions today had truly amazed Su Ge’er. He had fought his way from the start of the street to the end and even became the Vice Hall Master of a gym—his story was almost legendary.
This only reaffirmed Su Ge’er’s trust in her own judgment; she was delighted about her decision, convinced that she hadn’t misjudged the person.
The very next day, Yang Dingfeng came to the hotel, and Fang Yi had him take him to see the factory.
Yang Dingfeng played chauffeur, driving Fang Yi to the factory.
Numerous factories were located near this one, which was part of an industrial park that manufactured various products. Guided by Yang Dingfeng, Fang Yi arrived at their own factory that specialized in gold refinement.
"Alliance Hierarch, the machines and equipment have all been brought in, but there’s the matter with the Sky Alliance..." Yang Dingfeng hesitated.
"What about the workers?" Fang Yi countered.
With a wry smile, Yang Dingfeng said, "Alliance Hierarch, you don’t understand. Most of the nearby workers are gang members of the Sky Alliance. If you want the factory to operate, you need a nod from the Sky Alliance. Otherwise, no one is willing to come work here."
Fang Yi’s eyebrows shot up, "Even if offering a higher pay doesn’t work?"
Yang Dingfeng shook his head.
Fang Yi stroked his chin thoughtfully, realizing he might have underestimated the influence of the Lank City Alliance.
At that moment, several black cars approached the factory with an imposing presence. Fang Yi came out of the factory just in time to see a man step out of a car—it was Cao Yongjun.
Upon seeing Fang Yi, Cao Yongjun burst into a loud, boisterous laugh, laden with mockery and triumph.
"Alliance Hierarch, they..."
"Stay cool," Fang Yi interjected, his expression as calm as still water. He stepped forward to meet him.
As Cao Yongjun exited the car, numerous men in black followed him, creating quite the scene, resembling a mob boss straight out of a movie.
"Mr. Cao," Fang Yi said, his tone not only devoid of anger but also carrying a smile.
"Mr. Cao is what you call me? Idiot!" Cao Yongjun sneered coldly.
"Trouble comes from the mouth. I advise you not to speak rashly, Mr. Cao," Fang Yi said lightly, knowing full well that Cao Yongjun was provoking him.
Cao Yongjun retorted, "I’ll say whatever the hell I want. What are you going to do about it?"
Fang Yi’s face suddenly darkened, his eyes glinting with a cold, fierce light.
Unbearable becomes bearable no longer. His voice was as cold as ice shards.
Cao Yongjun paused, about to laugh and hurl a few sarcastic remarks at Fang Yi, but in that moment, Fang Yi suddenly made his move.
Before anyone knew where it came from, a fist as big as a sandbag smashed right into Cao Yongjun’s face.
"AHHH!!!"
The scream that escaped from Cao Yongjun’s lips was as agonizing as a pig being slaughtered.
