Chapter 529: Chapter 569: What do you want to get from me?
The small fishing boat left the dock and headed out to sea. Its old diesel engine was loud, clattering and shaking the whole vessel, which annoyed Isabella already in a bad mood sitting aboard.
Opposite Isabella stood Alger. She still felt uneasy and said, "Alger, are you sure no one followed you?"
Alger was silent for a moment before answering, "I’m not sure."
Isabella’s delicate eyebrows furrowed tightly.
"Bishop Isabella, nothing is perfect. If I wasn’t followed, then it’s our good luck, but if I was and didn’t know it, thinking too much would be useless if such an enemy appeared."
"But..." Isabella’s body tensed subconsciously, a reflex as she thought things over, suddenly staring towards the calm sea, "This constant anxiety is really unbearable."
Alger, steering the fishing boat through the sea, found a moment and said, "Bishop, worrying too much is pointless. We need to escape from Moon City, which will take at least twelve hours by sea. Thinking about it all the time will exhaust you."
Alger spoke with a hint of concern.
However, Isabella paid no heed as she pondered how to escape this crisis.
Two days ago, Isabella hadn’t left immediately because of Fang Yi’s warning. She watched and waited, but nothing happened. After enduring for two more days, Isabella couldn’t stand it any longer and set out to sea, planning to escape this troubled place.
She already had the money in hand and no reason to stay in Moon City anymore. She felt it was better to leave quickly to avoid more complications.
The sea breeze blew, lifting Isabella’s gray hair as the dock grew increasingly distant. Logically, she should have felt relieved or lowered her guard, but why was the feeling of foreboding inside her growing stronger?
Just then, as if to prove the ominous feeling in Isabella’s heart, a strong light shone from the distance across the sea, speeding toward their direction.
They were already far from the dock, where no lights should be visible. But why...
Suddenly, Isabella’s eyes widened as if she had seen a ghost.
Isabella rushed to Alger’s side, shouting, "Alger! Hurry up! Go faster! Someone is catching up!"
Alger’s face was sweaty, "Bishop, this diesel engine can only go this fast, it can’t go any faster."
Isabella was extremely annoyed but helpless, looking back at the approaching light which grew brighter and closer. The gap between them quickly narrowed, and she could only watch helplessly as the light reached them.
It was a small yacht!
The yacht was lit up, clearly revealing a man driving it. Upon seeing him, Isabella’s pupils abruptly dilated, stunned as if she had seen a ghost.
"Abandoned Dragon!" Isabella gritted her teeth and said, "Alger, stop. We can’t outrun him!"
Though Alger was extremely reluctant, he knew it was the truth and had to stop the fishing boat.
Fang Yi also stopped his yacht, maintaining a short distance. With a smile, he said, "Isabella, meeting you on such a night, on such a sea, it’s really fate, isn’t it? It seems God is really looking after us."
"Abandoned Dragon!" Isabella still gritted her teeth, fury flashing in her eyes.
Could this really be fate?
It was clearly a trap, and Isabella had unknowingly walked into it. Now, she and Alger were stuck, unable to escape.
Because, in terms of combat power, Fang Yi could easily overpower the two of them.
At that moment, Alger quickly and stealthily pulled out a handgun and shot at Fang Yi. At such a close distance, only a meter or two away, Alger was confident that he could blow Fang Yi’s head off.
However, the gunshot rang out, but Fang Yi did not fall. He merely dodged his body.
"Damn! It’s impossible, he can’t dodge bullets!" Alger was utterly shocked.
But that was the reality. Alger didn’t know that although Martial Artists had declined, once they reached Earth Level Three, they could evade bullets if they were determined; of course, only a Heavenly Level master could evade a rapid-fire machine gun.
Fang Yi glanced sideways at Alger with a sneer.
The next moment, without seeing Fang Yi make a move, a silver needle silently flew out, not because Fang Yi could control it with his mind but because his throwing speed was incredibly fast.
Alger felt a sting on his neck, then his entire body went numb, and he thudded to the deck of the fishing boat.
In Fang Yi’s eyes, Alger hardly counted as an opponent. Then Fang Yi turned to Isabella and said, "Isabella, will you resist, or will you surrender yourself?"
"I surrender!" Isabella almost immediately responded.
Had it been someone else, Isabella might have thought of resisting, having been a special agent for the Yuming Empire’s Military Intelligence Bureau with both fighting skills and intelligence. However, facing Fang Yi, Isabella felt a profound sense of powerlessness, especially seeing her attendant Alger defeated so decisively—a warning from Fang Yi.
Fang Yi slightly narrowed his eyes, saying, "Isabella, whether you truly surrender or pretend to, you should know, if I want to kill someone, you can’t escape."
Isabella paused for a moment then said, "Abandoned Dragon, no matter what, we were involved, would you really heartlessly kill me?"
Fang Yi’s face displayed a mocking smile, "Isabella, I’m not as naïve as you think. Do you believe there was ever real affection between us?"
Isabella was silent. She knew very well in her heart; their previous intimate relationship had been nothing more than mutual exploitation, devoid of true affection.
Looking at Fang Yi’s smiling face, Isabella raised her hands resignedly and said, "Alright, Abandoned Dragon, I’ve lost. What do you want from me?"
