Chapter 456: Chapter 486: Official Residence

Binnan was completely taken aback, her brows slightly furrowed as she fell into deep thought, seemingly pondering over something that greatly puzzled and perplexed her—so much so that she kept getting distracted, and Fang Yi didn’t bother her.

The matter Binnan was thinking about was actually quite simple; she was wondering if Fang Yi really had a place in her heart.

If it had been at the beginning when she first started interacting with him, Binnan would have definitely not considered these things and would have unequivocally said that he had no place in her heart, not in the slightest.

But now, even though Binnan was reluctant to admit it, the image of someone had already appeared in her heart, indelible and unforgettable, and she didn’t even know when that image had etched itself deep into her core.

Perhaps the image wasn’t very tall or powerful, but it still occupied a place in her heart, the size of which wasn’t clear, yet it undeniably existed.

With a soft sigh in her heart, Binnan stopped thinking about it and instead said, "By the way, who was that man in the yoga room who spoke up for you? He looked like he had quite a significant background."

Fang Yi smiled and responded without needing to hide anything, "A secretary of a high-ranking official in Huacheng."

Binnan was shocked, "A personal secretary?"

Fang Yi nodded.

Binnan couldn’t help but be moved; although she was thriving in Moon City, she knew very well the extent of power a high-ranking official wielded. In ancient times, such a position would be a high governor, and in Xuan Cang, even a provincial governor wouldn’t compare.

Binnan suddenly turned her head to size up Fang Yi and said, "I really don’t know what abilities you have to even know the secretary of such a high official." Not just knowing—their intimacy was apparent.

Fang Yi laughed heartily, finally gaining some esteem in front of Binnan, boastfully saying, "My abilities are vast; there’s nothing I can’t handle. Do you want to truly understand them? Come on, be my wife." His last sentence was teasing.

But Binnan clearly didn’t take the bait; she wasn’t moved at all and gave him a sharp glare, "Can’t you be serious when we are discussing serious matters?"

"I can," Fang Yi replied earnestly. "But it would make me very uncomfortable; I would need you to pat my little chest to comfort me."

Binnan snapped, "Go to hell!"

"Alright, I’ll die with you. There’s a big truck ahead, watch me go and hit it."

"...God, save me." It was quite something to make Binnan utter such words.

"Don’t worry, I’m right by your side." Fang Yi continued shamelessly.

"Get lost."

"My ’eggs’ aren’t so easy to display, but I’ll go home and roll them for you."

"Just go die."

"I’ve already said, if I die, I’m taking you with me."

"I..."

It was not until Fang Yi escorted Binnan to her mansion that their conversation finally ended, and Binnan felt as though she was going to go mad. She had been irritable because of work before, but she had never felt this frustrated.

This was too much, just too much.

After getting out of the car and leaning against it, Fang Yi planned to watch Binnan enter and disappear before leaving. And indeed, Binnan stormed inside. But just as Fang Yi was about to get back into the driver’s seat, he saw Binnan march back out.

Binnan knocked on the car window, and Fang Yi rolled it down with a smile, "What, can’t bear to part with me?"

"Yes, I missed you terribly."

"Alright then, how about a kiss?"

"Kiss my foot!" Binnan finally couldn’t suppress her inner anger, but she was self-aware and knew she couldn’t beat Fang Yi, so she raised her foot to kick the car door instead.

However, in the end, the car door was tougher.

"Don’t break my car door," Fang Yi said with a mischievous smile.

"If I break it, I’ll pay for it!" Binnan retorted, annoyed.

"Hey, you just left, and now you’re back, don’t tell me it’s just to argue with me?"

"Of course!" Binnan snapped back to reality and then said solemnly, "You’re going to the compound tomorrow, take me with you."

This took Fang Yi by surprise. He was going to the compound, but why would this woman want to come along? Just as Fang Yi was about to ask, Binnan had already turned around and entered the villa, clearly making an unquestionable decision, leaving no room for Fang Yi to object.

Fang Yi knew Binnan’s temperament all too well and left with a bitter smile, shaking his head before driving away.

The next day around nine, Fang Yi drove to Binnan’s house to pick her up. She was dressed up beautifully, making Fang Yi exclaim, "Hey, why are you all dolled up, trying to seduce men?"

Honestly, Fang Yi was really annoyed with unrelated men ogling Binnan.

"Is that not allowed..." Binnan was not a bit angry, instead, she turned around and went back to her bedroom. After a while, she came out in a more simple outfit, finally satisfying Fang Yi.

Of course, if it was up to him, wrapping her in a blanket would be even better.

Then the two went to the compound together.

The compound was no ordinary place; anyone with common sense knew that it housed high-ranking officials and their families.

Here, the highest-ranking officials weren’t just superiors but also some old folks, each with identities so significant they could change the course of things with a flip of their hand. In the compound, one had to tread carefully, as you never knew which high-ranking official might appear before you next.

Officials didn’t just own a house here; after all, these were allocated by the state. Many officials were known to have bought villas outside, keeping mistresses and the like, a countless number.

According to Hu Guanqing’s advice, when Fang Yi arrived, he parked the car outside and called Hu Guanqing. Not long after, Hu Guanqing came out, and the two inspectors at the gate allowed them in, but not before performing a routine check for weapons, among other things—it was extremely strict.

This was the compound, where no mistakes were allowed.

After the check, Fang Yi drove inside and then, under Hu Guanqing’s guidance, parked the car in a spot. He and Binnan got out of the car.

Hu Guanqing wasn’t surprised by Fang Yi’s arrival, but he was taken aback when he saw Binnan. Quickly, he pulled Fang Yi aside and whispered anxiously, "Fang Yi, didn’t I ask you to come alone? Why did you bring someone else?"

Fang Yi looked puzzled and replied, "She’s my assistant, is that a problem? If it’s not okay, I’ll just send her back."

Hu Guanqing seemed almost frantic, then considered it and spoke, "No need for that, but Fang Yi, please remind your assistant: once we’re inside, look not where you shouldn’t, listen not where you shouldn’t, and be sure to follow the rules, okay?"

Follow the rules? Binnan followed them better than anyone, so Fang Yi smiled approvingly and nodded.
