Chapter 297: Chapter 218: Take it off

Fang Yi and Song Duan were not closely acquainted, Fang Yi just knew that Song Duan had once stepped in to help, therefore he held him in good regard, and the man’s behavior was quite refined too, which left a decent impression on Fang Yi.

With a simple exchange of courtesies, Song Duan left on the pretext of having matters to attend to.

It was then that Xu He approached Fang Yi when suddenly, a bloody taste filled Fang Yi’s mouth, and the blood he had previously been holding back finally spurted out.

Xu He’s face turned to panic as she quickly grabbed Fang Yi’s arm, supporting him with difficulty, and said worriedly, "Fang Yi, you’re... you’re vomiting blood. I’ll take you to the hospital!"

Fang Yi waved his hand dismissively, steadying her by the shoulders, and said, "No need."

Xu He insisted anxiously, "How can there be no need, you’re... you’re vomiting blood!"

Fang Yi couldn’t help but feel both amused and frustrated. Though he was injured, it wasn’t serious; he just needed a few days of rest. Besides, he had endured far worse injuries before, let alone this minor one.

However, Xu He was not aware of his toughness, and just as she tried to speak again, the sound of high heels approached.

A pair of high heels entered Fang Yi’s line of sight followed by the sight of delicate, alabaster-like legs. When Fang Yi looked up, he saw a cold-faced Shen Binnan.

Xu He also saw the stern Shen Binnan and quickly said, "Binnan, come persuade Fang Yi. He is vomiting blood and still refuses to go to the hospital. How can this be right?"

"Does he want to go?" asked Shen Binnan.

"No... he doesn’t want to," Xu He hesitated, mentally noting that he was her bodyguard.

Shen Binnan responded, "If he doesn’t want to go, then there’s no need to force him. After all, he’s tough and can handle it."

Xu He was utterly stunned by Shen Binnan’s response, surprised by such an attitude, because although commonly frosty, Shen Binnan had never been like this.

Xu He tried to persuade further, but Fang Yi laughed and said, "It’s alright, really, I’m fine." Standing upright, he straightened his back.

Xu He pursed her lips, "Are you sure?"

Fang Yi laughed, "I wouldn’t push myself unnecessarily."

Seeing him still able to smile, Xu He finally began to ease up a bit, and said, "Alright then, but don’t push yourself. If something’s wrong, go to the hospital immediately."

Fang Yi felt a mix of amusement and frustration again, thinking how unlikely it was, in today’s social climate, for a big star to care so much about an ordinary person, but Xu He was indeed an exception.

Yet, it was precisely because of this that Fang Yi felt somewhat touched.

In the following moments, Shen Binnan bid Xu He goodbye, and Xu He nodded, seeing the two off into the elevator before returning.

Inside the elevator, neither spoke, though Fang Yi occasionally coughed.

Once out of the elevator and in the parking lot of the building, Fang Yi was about to open the driver’s side door when Shen Binnan quickly reached out, grabbing the handle first, and Fang Yi inadvertently grabbed her hand instead.

A sudden silence.

Fang Yi quickly said, "This wasn’t on purpose."

However, unexpectedly, Shen Binnan showed no signs of anger and offhandedly said, "I’ll drive."

Fang Yi did not argue and promptly moved to the passenger side, opened the door, and got in.

Shen Binnan buckled up and upon seeing Fang Yi remaining still, said, "Put on your seatbelt."

Fang Yi replied, "I trust your driving completely."

Shen Binnan seemed about to say something but remained silent, started the car, and left the place.

On the road, amid the throng of cars, Shen Binnan drove unusually slow, never entering the fast lane, which drove Fang Yi a little crazy due to the stark difference from her usual self, making him feel quite uneasy and uncomfortable.

"I say... can we go a bit faster?" Fang Yi asked cautiously.

"I’m afraid if I drive too fast, you might throw up," Shen Binnan replied, focusing intently on the road ahead.

Fang Yi was stunned for a moment, then laughed. "I’m not some delicate lady; what’s there to vomit about? If I had to, I’d just do it outside, not in your car."

As they approached a red light, Shen Binnan brought the car to a stop and suddenly turned to look at him with an intense gaze that made Fang Yi feel a bit uneasy.

"What are you trying to do?" Fang Yi asked defensively.

"Can’t you stop making people worry?" Shen Binnan burst out angrily.

"What?"

"I mean... can’t you stop causing trouble, getting hurt, spewing blood—do you find that thrilling? Do you have a masochistic streak? You want to be beaten? Fine, when we get back, let me do it; that should satisfy you, right?"

Shen Binnan had suddenly become infuriated, unleashing such a tirade. Her expression was intensely agitated, tinged with a trace of disappointment and frustration.

Fang Yi was utterly shocked by Shen Binnan’s vehement reaction, which was beyond what he expected.

Opening his mouth, Fang Yi said, "It was just a few blows; what’s there for you to panic about."

"Because... because you’re my bodyguard!"

Fang Yi blurted out, "If I were your man, would you go off to fight someone?"

A blush suddenly spread across Shen Binnan’s icy face. She seemed a bit provoked and shot Fang Yi a fierce glance, saying, "Unfortunately, you’re not my man."

"That’s right, I’m not your man, so what’s there for you to worry about?"

In a fit of anger and the light turning green, Shen Binnan didn’t start the car, ignoring the honking behind her as she lost her composure completely and said, "You... you ungrateful fool!"

Fang Yi had never seen Shen Binnan react so intensely. He fell silent, refraining from provoking her further, waiting for her to cool down before saying, "Alright, let’s drive, or the patrol might come."

Frustrated, Shen Binnan started the car, and this time she sped up much faster than before, speeding with the red Audi on the road.

Fang Yi was torn between laughter and tears. It really was like finding a needle in a woman’s heart—Shen Binnan turned intensely petty all of a sudden, making him somewhat baffled.

To Fang Yi’s surprise, Shen Binnan didn’t drive back to the company but to her house instead.

Entering the villa, Fang Yi glanced at the empty house and asked, "Where are Feng Wenhua’s bodyguards?"

Shen Binnan threw her bag onto the sofa and replied, "I sent them all back to the bodyguard company."

Fang Yi acknowledged with an "Oh," and sat down on the living room sofa. Shen Binnan took off her silver business suit, revealing a white blouse underneath.

Rolling up her sleeves and exposing her fair arms, Shen Binnan asked Fang Yi, "What would you like to drink?"

"I’d like some milk," Fang Yi answered earnestly.

Shen Binnan was taken aback for a moment, gave him a reproachful look, then turned and went upstairs. When Shen Binnan came back down, she had a bottle of medicinal wine in her hand, walked straight up to Fang Yi, and said, "Take it off."

Fang Yi’s expression turned weird. "I’m injured now."

Shen Binnan finally lost her temper, "You jerk, can’t you clear your mind of dirty thoughts? I meant take off your clothes so I can apply the medicine!"

Yet Fang Yi replied innocently, "It’s just the two of us here, and you’re asking me to strip. I can’t help but think that way."

Shen Binnan stayed silent, just looking at him coldly.

Fang Yi stopped teasing and straightforwardly stripped off his clothes, "If you, a woman, aren’t embarrassed, then why should I, a man, feel embarrassed?"
