Chapter 201: Chapter 199, The Profligate Son
"Ha? Confession?" Fang Yi hastily said, "Last time was my fault, Zhou Peilan, please don’t do this."
Zhou Peilan, however, shook her head calmly, looking at him without a hint of shyness.
"To like someone doesn’t need any other reason," Zhou Peilan gently said, yet her tone was full of determination.
Fang Yi could only give a wry smile; he and Zhou Peilan couldn’t really be considered close, and such an abrupt confession from her left him completely astonished.
"Okay then, tell me, when did you start liking me?" Fang Yi asked.
"That time in the cafeteria," Zhou Peilan replied.
"Which time?"
"That time when Xiaoxuan and I were surrounded by some bad guys, and you showed up."
Fang Yi remembered and couldn’t help but smile ruefully. He had no ulterior motives at that time, and never would have imagined that his act of heroism could win Zhou Peilan’s affection.
Fang Yi felt a bit embarrassed and said, "I’m about to leave the company now, and we may never see each other again."
"I can leave with you," Zhou Peilan said.
"No, don’t do that; give me some time to think about it," Fang Yi quickly responded.
"Okay, then take your time to think," Zhou Peilan said.
...
Fang Yi rode away on his bicycle, finding the situation somewhat comical yet endearing. If it had been Ding Miaoyan or Huo Xiaoxuan confessing to him, he would have been thrilled. He never expected it to be Zhou Peilan.
"Well, just let it be," Fang Yi sighed, deciding not to overthink it and to focus on finishing the task at hand first.
With that in mind, Fang Yi took out his phone and called Song Wuliang, telling him to get his ass over to the front of Sky Blue KTV and wait for him.
To Fang Yi’s surprise, Song Wuliang was waiting at the entrance in a Toyota made in White Eagle Country.
"Brother Fang, you’re here," Song Wuliang greeted him with a smile. Leaning against the car door with a cigarette dangling from his lips, he would have been quite the picture of cool if he weren’t too overweight.
Fang Yi walked over pushing his bicycle and said, "Aren’t you afraid of getting your White Eagle Country car smashed on the road?"
"Heh," Song Wuliang chuckled, "I’m not afraid. If anyone dares to smash it, I’ll just smash their whole family. It’s as simple as that." As a member of the Song family, he spoke with such confidence.
Fang Yi nodded and said, "I called you here to ask for a favor."
Song Wuliang let out a sigh, "Brother Fang, with the friendship between us, do you even need to say that? Ever since you broke Fang Tianqi’s legs, I’ve had nothing but respect for you."
Fang Yi narrowed his eyes slightly and said, "Is that so? Then what would you do if I said I wanted to deal with Song Haoyue?"
...
Inside the KTV, Song Wuliang flashed his status and immediately a manager came over to offer servile hospitality.
"Call all the girls here for me; I’m going to pick and choose one by one. If I’m not satisfied, then you might as well not work here anymore," Song Wuliang said arrogantly, the epitome of a spoiled rich kid.
The manager wiped the sweat from his brow and hurriedly replied, "Yes, yes, Young Master Song, please wait a moment. I’ll call them over right away."
Waiters brought in the drinks, large containers of it; all ordered by Song Wuliang, along with some snacks and fruits.
"Surnamed Song, have you thought it through?" Fang Yi asked.
"I have!" Song Wuliang gritted his teeth and said, "Though my name is Song Wuliang, I do have a conscience. Even if he’s my older brother, Song Haoyue, I wouldn’t agree to such a thing."
Fang Yi hummed in response, not saying much, perhaps that was what made this fat man adorable. Although he irritated many to the point where they gnashed their teeth in anger, the fact that he had a conscience made him a brother worth befriending.
Not long after, the manager came in with a dozen women. These were hostesses of the private room, each dressed in sexy and provocative attire. Not a single one lacked a stunning figure. With faces pretty and bodies hot, they were clearly a cut above those from the nightclubs.
Song Wuliang’s eyes went wide at the sight; indeed, the man was also a lecher. However, he didn’t forget the matter at hand and poked Fang Yi, who, however, shook his head.
So, Song Wuliang’s face fell instantaneously.
Seeing that something was amiss, the manager hurriedly put on a smile and said, "If Young Master Song is dissatisfied with anything, please speak up, and I’ll correct it immediately. If these girls are not to your liking, I’ll call others in."
Song Wuliang replied impatiently, "I heard there’s a girl named Yao Tong here, call her over."
The smile on the manager’s face froze, a look of difficulty appeared, and he said in a low voice, "Young Master Song, this... might be a bit troublesome."
Song Wuliang, unreasonable, retorted, "Damn, are you tricking me or what! How is it trouble? I specifically want that girl named Yao Tong. Just say it—is she coming over or not? If she doesn’t, I’ll wreck this place today."
Such was the recklessness of a profligate son; having a powerful family backing one can do whatever one wants.
Sweat beaded the manager’s forehead, afraid even to wipe it away, he quickly said, "Young Master Song, could you please be a bit more understanding? The girl, Yao Tong, is currently accompanying a very important guest and really can’t make it."
But Song Wuliang was an unreasonably stubborn scion, he slammed his leg and cursed, "Damn, are you looking down on me, Song Wuliang? What’s so special about them, daring to vie with me for a woman! I’ll make sure they regret it!"
As he spoke, Song Wuliang stood up. The manager, upon seeing this, rushed over to stop him but ended up grabbed by the collar by Song Wuliang, who demanded to be led to her.
During this process, Fang Yi didn’t say a word, because Song Wuliang’s actions were also under his direction.
...
At that moment, in another private room, several people were sitting around, a woman holding a microphone and singing a song with her soft voice, captivating like the melodious chirping of a warbler.
A man with mismatched eyes sat there, a woman in a tight dress snuggled next to him. She didn’t seem to be distressed by the ghastliness of his appearance.
And the man with large eyes was not at all polite, taking full advantage of her.
Opposite the man with large eyes sat a man in his forties, exuding an inherent authority. His face was smiling, but the smile was unfathomable.
"Tongtong, come on, pour me a drink," the middle-aged man passed his glass to her.
Yao Tong sat next to the middle-aged man, her expression devoid of any smiles, quite different from the other women in the room. She was mostly silent, rarely uttering a word.
Yet, it was this restraint that made the middle-aged man even more eager—he had requested her as soon as he arrived.
Yao Tong dutifully poured the man a glass of wine, which he drained in one gulp and then asked her to pour another. Yao Tong complied. The man’s gaze constantly wandered over Yao Tong; how lascivious his smile held could not be discerned.
"If you like her, take her out tonight and have yourself some fun," the man with large eyes said, smiling.
He Yongjian laughed heartily and casually slapped Yao Tong, which startled her so much that the glass she was holding dropped to the floor.
Though the sound was not loud, it wasn’t quiet either. He Yongjian’s smile, that was bright just a moment ago, suddenly turned grim.
