Chapter 197: Chapter 195: If the law doesn’t punish you, I will!
Fang Yi, with a cigarette clutched between his lips, stood on the second floor, hands bracing the railing, watching those two men.
The two men walked into the lobby, first scanning the surroundings before looking up, both stealing a glance at Fang Yi. Then, pretending to be ordinary people, one man deliberately took out his phone and answered a call, going through the motions convincingly.
Fang Yi exhaled a cloud of smoke, then made his way down the winding staircase in the lobby. At the same time, the two men also feigned casually coming up from the lower floor.
As Fang Yi passed by the two men, he made no move. After they had parted ways, Fang Yi stopped, turned around, and watched them continue upstairs without daring to look back once.
Had they looked back even once, Fang Yi would have taken them both down immediately.
From beginning to end, the men did not look back.
"They have some ’quality’, not the usual riffraff. They must be trained..." Fang Yi knew well what such people were like; if they lacked mental fortitude, they would have slipped up by now.
Yet these men never did slip up, playing their roles convincingly.
Fang Yi reached the ground floor of the lobby and, without looking back, walked right out of the lobby, soon disappearing from the entrance.
Meanwhile, the two men from earlier cautiously peeked out, sighing in relief to see that Fang Yi had left through the entrance.
"This guy is terrifying," one of the men said in a low voice.
"Yeah, I felt it too. But we’re desperate outlaws; this is our livelihood. Let’s take care of those four first and then get out of here fast," the other man said.
"Mm."
The two men quickly made their way into the guest room corridor, knocking on doors in sequence.
But what they didn’t know was that Fang Yi, who had supposedly left Purple Vine Bay, had reentered from the outside, now with a wiretap earpiece placed on his ear.
...
The two men soon found their target, and the one to open the door was Yao Dong.
One of the men grabbed Yao Dong by the collar, dragging him into the room, while his companion quickly shut the door behind them, all moves performed with smooth efficiency, without any hesitation.
"What are you doing? You two..." Yao Tai immediately tried to intervene.
"To hell with you!" one man scoffed, pushing Yao Tai onto the sofa.
"Ah! You dare to lay hands on my uncle, I’ll fight you all!" Yao Bo’s eyes turned red.
Without a second thought, Yao Bo, like an enraged bull, charged at one of the men, who just sneered and didn’t take it seriously. However, when Yao Bo collided with him, the man was tackled to the floor.
The man was shocked, trying to press against Yao Bo’s neck to push him off, but Yao Bo’s strength was astonishing and unrelenting; the man couldn’t budge him.
Seeing this, the man’s partner suddenly drew a dagger from behind his waist and pressed it against Yao Dong’s throat, bellowing, "You idiot! Let him go, or I’ll kill him!"
Yao Bo’s eyes were red but he was still lucid. Seeing the situation, he hesitated just a moment, and the man on the ground immediately pushed him off and then kicked him down onto the floor, striking his shoulder.
Still angered and unsatisfied, the man rushed over, slapped Yao Bo’s face twice, and snarled, "What’s it to you if you’re strong, huh? Come on, hit me! Lay a finger on me again, and I swear I’ll kill him."
Yao Bo clenched his teeth and trembled with fury, but he dared not be impulsive and instead said, "I’ll kill you! I promise."
The man almost laughed in fury and gave him another slap, "Come on then, come at me!"
"Enough, stop playing around," said the companion at that moment, his gaze then shifting to Yao Tai, "We’ll give you a chance. My boss said you roll back to where you came from, or it won’t just be you who suffers. All those women will too."
"You wouldn’t dare!" Yao Dong, calmer than Yao Bo, had eyes full of intense resentment.
"Ha ha, why wouldn’t we dare? If we dare come here to deal with you, it means we’ve got backup. And really, do you want those girls to suffer? Alright then, tomorrow I’ll send you a few fingers to show you whether we dare or not."
The man laughed menacingly.
Yao Dong was furious to the extreme, struggling forcefully even though the man held a dagger to his throat, seemingly not caring for his life, wishing he could bite off chunks of flesh from his assailant’s body.
"You all are really lawless, aren’t you? Where do you think the law stands in this?!" Yao Tai shouted, his eyes on the verge of splitting.
"Heh, the law? What is that? We’ve killed people, but how come we’ve never seen the law punish us?" the man laughed, brazen and unabashed.
The scholarly Yao Tai, with trembling at the corners of his eyes; Yao Bo on the ground, his body shaking violently, like a savage beast ready to spring into action; Yao Bo clenched his fists so tightly that his nails dug into his flesh, almost drawing blood.
And just then...
Snap!
The door to the room was suddenly flung open, and a man appeared at the entrance, his lips curled in a cold smirk.
"If the law won’t punish you, I will."
Fang Yi slowly closed the door behind him.
The two men, who had been extremely arrogant just moments ago, changed their expressions dramatically upon seeing Fang Yi, like cats who had their tails stepped on.
"You... you’re not... Didn’t you leave?!"
"Don’t come any closer! Dare to take one more step, and I’ll kill him!" The man suddenly seized Yao Dong by the collar, dragged him forward as a shield against any sudden attack from Fang Yi.
Fang Yi slightly raised his brows, "I thought desperadoes like you weren’t afraid of death. Turns out you are afraid after all," he said with mocking in his tone.
The two men snorted coldly but said nothing.
"Release him, and I’ll let you go," Fang Yi proposed.
"You think we’d believe that?" The man holding Yao Dong as a hostage sneered.
"Alright, then. It seems you’ve chosen to leave your lives here. I’ll satisfy your wish," Fang Yi said indifferently.
The next moment, Fang Yi stepped toward the two men.
"Don’t come over!" The man suddenly shouted, overwhelmed by the inexplicable sensation of a Killing God approaching.
Fang Yi kept walking, not pausing.
"Don’t come any closer! If you do, I’ll really do it!" Desperate though he was, he felt a chilling fear, a cold sweat rising up his spine.
At the same time, a shadow on the ground stirred.
The enraged Yao Bo, like a dormant savage beast, suddenly moved. He darted behind the man and grabbed his arm, twisting it backward without mercy, snapping it completely. The man’s screams filled the room in an instant.
However, this was Purple Vine Bay, Moon City’s most upscale star-rated hotel, where the room was well soundproofed, so there was no need to worry about the man’s screams being heard outside.
Simultaneously, Yao Dong also moved. Twisting his body around, with wild disregard, he pinned the man on the ground and started to beat him fiercely.
The remaining man’s face was covered in sweat, and he glanced at the window, feeling the urge to escape.
"Yao Bo, don’t let him get away," Fang Yi said calmly.
"Right on it," Yao Bo replied, his eyes filled with excitement, a sneer on his face as he pounced on the man.
In an instant, the sound of breaking bones and tortured screams echoed.
Ten minutes later, the two men were tied up.
