Chapter 158: Chapter 160: Halted at Tianjing (Part One)
"Alright, it’s done!"
Binnan pushed away her laptop and breathed a sigh of relief, she had never felt this tired before.
She picked up a cup of water from beside her, took two sips, and looking towards Lin Shang, who was sitting on the sofa, said, "I wonder how things are going over there."
Lin Shang said, "I trust him, he should be able to handle it."
Binnan said, "He should indeed..."
Just then, Lin Shang’s phone rang.
"Lin Shang, it’s me, Fang Yi," came a grave voice from the phone.
"What’s wrong?" Lin Shang had never heard such a heavy tone in his voice before.
"Binnan is with you, right?" Fang Yi asked.
"Yes."
"Is the situation resolved?"
"It is."
"Good, then I can rest easy," Fang Yi said.
Lin Shang frowned and asked, "What exactly happened?"
Fang Yi was silent for a moment and said, "I’ve caused trouble."
Lin Shang exclaimed, "What trouble could there possibly be that you’re afraid of causing?"
"But I indeed caused trouble, and it’s with a formidable superfamily. Now I’ve got to run."
"Uh... you’re not joking, are you?"
Fang Yi said, "Of course I’m not joking. Alright, enough talk, I need to hide now."
With that, the call ended.
By now, Binnan had walked over, and seeing Lin Shang’s grave expression, she couldn’t help but ask, "What’s wrong?"
Lin Shang let out a sigh and said, "Fang Yi, he’s on the run."
...
In the office of the Director of the Moon City Guard Department.
Smack!
The Director slammed his desk and bellowed, "Go find him! Find that Fang Yi! If you can’t find him by tonight, I won’t be able to rest, and neither will you!"
In front of him stood more than a dozen big shots from the Guard Department, who, upon hearing this, hurried off to carry out the orders.
After the heads of the Guard Department had left, the Director sighed to himself, "How could this happen? That’s the fourth young master of the Tianjing Fang Family—someone actually had the audacity to cripple his legs. How daring that person must be."
...
"Fang Yi! Fang Yi! In this life, I, Fang Tianqi, cannot coexist under the same sky with you! Ah!!"
Fang Tianqi lay on an emergency gurney, being rushed into the operating room, screaming uncontrollably.
And this news quickly reached Tianjing.
An ordinary old-style Siheyuan courtyard, where the environment was elegant, filled with an ancient charm and ambiance.
Inside the study room.
Bang!
A middle-aged man shot up from his seat, enraged, "Which bastard dares to lay a hand on my son, Fang Jupeng’s son, deserves to die!"
But then!
The door to the study room was pushed open, and a butler walked in, saying, "Master, the old master has sent word for you to come over—Master Xiao Suan has arrived."
Fang Jupeng was taken aback. Master Xiao Suan hadn’t come for three years. Why would he come now, especially at this time?
After a moment of stunned silence, Fang Jupeng said, "Prepare the car."
This night in Moon City was destined not to be peaceful.
Streams of cars surged, and from time to time, guard vehicles dashed by in a hurry, their police lights blaring nonstop.
Fang Yi blended into the crowd, not bothering to disguise his appearance or hide his face. Finding him amongst the vast sea of people would be impossible for the guards, at least not anytime soon.
Nevertheless, this trend made Fang Yi frown.
"All I did was break Fang Tianqi’s legs, is all this really necessary?" Fang Yi muttered to himself, and before he knew it, he had walked to the seaside.
The sea breeze caressed him, his long hair fluttering in the wind, and though many beautiful women passed by, Fang Yi had no eyes for them.
"Do I regret it?" Fang Yi suddenly asked himself.
But no sooner had he asked than he shook his head vehemently.
He had no regrets!
Back then, Fang Yi had been ruthless, stepping forward to cripple Fang Tianqi’s legs. Even with the shock of the onlookers and knowing that Fang Tianqi was the fourth young master of the Fang Family, Fang Yi felt no remorse.
Even with the thought of the great superpower of the Fang Family, not a shred of regret crossed Fang Yi’s mind.
As the sea breeze wafted, Fang Yi lit a cigarette. A chubby figure approached from a distance.
The chubby man was no longer as cheerful as he had been earlier, and his expression seemed rather grave. He came over, patted Fang Yi’s shoulder twice, then gave him a thumbs-up.
"Brother Fang, no offense, but you’re really badass, breaking the legs of the fourth young master of the Fang Family. Even with a hundred guts, I couldn’t do that," said Song Wuliang with sincere admiration.
"Are you sure you’re not making fun of me?" Fang Yi asked.
"Making fun of you? I don’t have enough respect to do that yet. I, Song Wuliang, have never respected anyone in my life—you’re the first," Song Wuliang declared.
Seeing this guy’s earnestness, Fang Yi couldn’t help but laugh and said, "No matter how much you admire me, I still have to run."
Song Wuliang fell silent, for being part of the Song family, he knew all too well what the Fang Family in Tianjing represented.
Just then, a cold laugh sounded.
"So this is the notorious Abandoned Dragon? Hearing your words now, I’m truly disappointed."
"Wow, a beauty," exclaimed Song Wuliang, nearly drooling at the sight of the newcomer.
Fang Yi slapped the back of his head: "Go cool off wherever it’s cold."
Song Wuliang sounded a little despondent, and trudged off to the side.
"Why are you here?" Fang Yi exhaled a puff of smoke.
Dressed in a sharp leather jacket, her tall figure was sleek and well-defined. The sea breeze played with Cai Qin’s jet-black hair, and she casually swept her bangs back, revealing her pale, smooth forehead.
"I knew you were in trouble, so I came," Cai Qin answered.
"You’re not worried about me, are you?" asked Fang Yi.
"Worried about you? Hardly. I wish you were dead," Cai Qin retorted.
"All I did was take advantage of you and steal a little tofu, you don’t have to curse me like that," Fang Yi said with a wry smile. When you’re down on your luck, even drinking water can feel like it’s getting stuck in your teeth—now Cai Qin had come to ridicule him as well.
Cai Qin walked over and leaned her hands on the railing, her tight backside wrapped in black leather pants, perfectly rounded and firm, tempting someone to touch it just to satisfy their hands.
"I would actually like to curse you to death, but unfortunately, it doesn’t work," Cai Qin said, not noticing where his gaze was fixed. She looked out at the vast sea and continued, "I’m here because Deputy Director Zhao sent me."
Fang Yi sighed, sounding a bit disappointed, "And here I thought you came out to find me on your own initiative, but I guess not."
Cai Qin sensed the dejection in his words, paused, then said, "No."
"All right, then. What does Zhao Guosheng want by sending you to find me? You know I’m about to become a fugitive again," Fang Yi said self-deprecatingly.
Cai Qin slightly narrowed her beautiful phoenix eyes and said, "I admire how you dared to break the legs of the fourth young master of the Fang Family. Honestly, I thank you on behalf of someone."
Fang Yi said, "It seems I haven’t been completely useless after all."
Cai Qin said, "But the price you’ve paid for this good deed is too high. Do you really know how vast the Fang Family’s influence is in all of Xuan Cang?"
Fang Yi shook his head blankly, truly unaware of the extent of the Fang Family’s power.
Cai Qin scoffed and said, "You probably haven’t heard this saying: ’When the Fang Family gets angry, a mere stomp will send three shivers through Xuan Cang.’ Get it straight—it’s Xuan Cang, not just Huacheng. If the Fang Family is determined to have you killed, even if you flee abroad, you’re certainly doomed."
