Chapter 152: Chapter 154: Acquaintance
"That person must have eaten a leopard’s gall, daring to make trouble here!" someone exclaimed in astonishment.
At the entrance of the villa, guests continuously entered. When they witnessed the scene, they couldn’t help but be surprised.
Most of them knew the person hosting this banquet was someone significant from Tianjing, with an extremely high status, backed by a super family.
But who was this person, daring to cause trouble here, and not only hitting a security guard but continuing to strike another?
Soon, the second security guard lay on the ground, both guards overwhelmed and in pain.
"Who are you? Do you know where this is? To actually hit someone here!" someone said.
Fang Yi glanced at the man and replied, "Who I am is none of your concern. I’m hitting someone here; tell me, how does that bother you?"
That person looked like a small business owner, and was at a loss for words due to Fang Yi’s response, finally leaving with this remark, "You have no manners!"
Fang Yi chuckled, manners? That also depends on whom one is talking to.
Many people surrounded the entrance of the villa, pointing fingers at Fang Yi and expressing strong disdain for his actions, as if he were assaulting them.
However, Fang Yi wasn’t angry at all. Amid the pointing and condemning, he remained calm, even taking out a cigarette to light up, standing unperturbed at the entrance.
After about a few minutes, someone came out from inside—a senior man.
The elder had a kindly face and temples touched with white, dressed in a Tang suit standing tall and straight as a flagpole!
A master!
Even though the elder didn’t show it, Fang Yi could still feel a sense of oppression from his aura.
The elder walked up to Fang Yi, hands clasped behind his back as if locking onto him, and came directly to him.
"Why are you causing trouble here?" the elder asked, conveying a strong sense of oppression.
But Fang Yi quickly got used to this pressure and didn’t mind; he had faced older men with even more powerful and intense auras before.
Fang Yi took out an invitation and calmly said, "I want to go in. They wouldn’t let me."
The elder instantly looked at the two security guards in black.
"No, it was..."
The security guards intended to explain that it wasn’t them who initiated the fight, but rather the opposite party. However, the elder slightly furrowed his brows, prompting them to immediately shut their mouths.
"We apologize for any offense, Mr. Fang, please come inside," the elder said with a smile, stepping aside to invite Fang Yi in.
The onlookers were left slack-jawed; this guy had just hit someone, and now he is being invited in?
"That seems to be the house-steward for the Fourth Young Master. He doesn’t seem angry; instead, he welcomed the person in. It’s too bizarre," someone whispered.
The elder was Fang Tianqi’s house-steward, a fact only a handful of people knew.
However, as soon as this information was revealed, it rapidly spread throughout the crowd, leaving them astonished. What kind of background did this violent individual have, to be treated with such deference by the elder?
...
The elder walked with measured steps towards the back courtyard of the villa, where a young man sat, with a maid fanning him from behind.
"Young Master," the elder approached the young man, bowing respectfully.
"Uncle Zhou, have you seen the man?" Fang Tianqi called for a small cup of wine, took a sip, and was utterly content.
"I have seen him." Zhou Quan pondered for a moment, then said, "The man is bold yet meticulous, and extremely skilled at leveraging situations; he seems much smarter than Ren Tianqing’s son. No wonder he can compete with Ren Tianqing."
Fang Tianqi said, "If that’s the case, it seems we can’t underestimate him."
Zhou Quan said, "That’s right, but compared to the young master, this person is still far behind."
Fang Tianqi smiled and said, "Uncle Zhou, you don’t have to praise me like that. After all, no one is perfect. Above me, there’s my third brother, second brother, and eldest brother."
Zhou Quan said, "These three young masters are all exceptionally talented, and you’re not far behind them, young master."
Fang Tianqi gave a slight bow, then stood up and said, "The banquet is about to start, right? Let’s go and take a look."
Although he said he was just going to take a look, Fang Tianqi’s eyes betrayed an excitement and a daunting presence he could hardly conceal.
...
The banquet was held in an open-air courtyard with artificial mountains and flowing water, and the lights above shone down, making it bright as day, truly resplendent in its grandeur.
A villa, however, is much more expensive than a mere house, indicating that the fourth young master of the Fang Family was indeed very lavish.
Fang Yi took a glass of wine from a tray held by a passing maid. Dressed in a suit, he transformed into an esteemed figure, weaving through the wealthy guests to see if there were any acquaintances.
Soon, Fang Yi spotted the first familiar face.
In the crowd, Jian Qing was wearing a simple purple dress, her lavish hair giving her an air of grace and demure elegance. Beside her stood a middle-aged man, probably an elder of hers.
Fang Yi didn’t approach to greet her since he saw that a handsome man had already done so.
Thus, Fang Yi, holding his glass of wine, continued to weave through the crowd and quickly spotted another familiar face, causing him to pause in surprise.
Lin Mengyan wore an evening gown, regal and elegant, splendid and breathtakingly beautiful. She was worthy of the title of the second great beauty of Moon City. Young men were clearly surrounding her, all trying to attract her favor.
Fang Yi didn’t go over; he and Lin Mengyan had already grown distant, so it was better not to approach. With that, Fang Yi turned and walked away.
However, just as Fang Yi turned away, Lin Mengyan, surrounded by the admiring young men, looked over in his direction.
His familiar silhouette seemed somewhat forlorn and desolate. Although she couldn’t see his face, Lin Mengyan still recognized it was him.
"Is that him... It should be..." Lin Mengyan whispered to herself.
The young elites around her were vying for her attention, showcasing their charm, but Lin Mengyan was as if deaf to them, as if she was in a trance, no longer even bothering to respond.
Stepping out of the crowd again, Fang Yi sighed, downed the glass of wine in his hand, and calmed his emotions.
Suddenly, a figure caught Fang Yi’s eye, another very familiar person.
Bai Jingjing was wearing a red cheongsam, just as she had been when Fang Yi first saw her. The cheongsam clung to her body, outlining her exquisite curves, each contour filled with allure.
"You’re here too," Bai Jingjing said.
"I came just to see you," Fang Yi replied.
"I don’t believe it."
"My heart is as clear as the sun and the moon, witnessed by heaven and earth," Fang Yi said earnestly.
"The more you say that, the less I believe you," Bai Jingjing retorted.
Fang Yi sighed and said, "Alright, I actually have other things to attend to here."
"Women are very curious creatures, tell me what it is," Bai Jingjing said.
Fang Yi smiled and said, "No rush, you’ll find out soon enough."
