Chapter 148: Chapter 150, Heroine!
Luo Hao was furious to the extreme.
Originally, there were grievances between him and Fang Yi. One night, Fang Yi punched him in the stomach, and when he tried to underhand Fang Yi afterward, it backfired, and Fang Yi stopped him, sending him to the hospital for several days.
Now, his father had become the president of Longtu Group, and he had been appointed as a manager there. It could be said that the Longtu Group was theirs for the taking.
Therefore, in Luo Hao’s eyes, Fang Yi, a mere employee, was a pushover, someone he could crush as he pleased. But Fang Yi wouldn’t let him, even going so far as to talk back and show such disdain.
"You bastard!" A director stood up and said coldly, "How dare you speak to Young Master Luo like this? First, weigh your own worth!"
"That’s right! Young Master Luo is not someone you can insult!"
"With just one word from Young Master Luo, you’d have to roll out of this company immediately!"
The directors and managers behind Luo Hao spoke up one after another, obviously siding with Luo Hao.
And indeed, Luo Hao was the president’s son, so they naturally had to curry favor with him.
"Hmph! You think so?" Lin Shang couldn’t bear it anymore, and disdainfully said, "Even though Shen Binnan is currently lying in a hospital, Fang Yi was appointed by her to work in the company. What right do you have to make him leave?"
"It’s because Young Master Luo’s father is the president of Longtu Group," a manager said.
"Heh, look at you, sucking up to him; why don’t you just acknowledge him as your biological father?" Lin Shang mocked.
The manager was immediately infuriated, his face flushing red with anger. He never expected that this man, who was so handsome, could speak so venomously.
Luo Hao stepped forward and extended his hand, signaling the manager to be quiet.
Luo Hao looked at Lin Shang, his eyes narrowing, "You’re not an employee of the company, right?"
"Of course not, I am your ancestor," replied Lin Shang.
As soon as these words came out, everyone was petrified. This man was too bold, claiming to be Luo Hao’s ancestor, effectively insulting Luo Hao’s father as well.
In fact, Lin Shang and Fang Yi were similar in temperament, both outspoken. Having just resolved some differences with Fang Yi, Lin Shang was feeling particularly satisfied and thought scolding Luo Hao was quite refreshing.
Of course, if Luo Hao knew what he was thinking right now, he would have definitely rushed up to fight with him.
"You... You are disgusting!" Luo Hao spat out.
"Disgusting? Well, talking about disgusting, you’re nowhere near as vile as you; a mean little man," Lin Shang sneered, referring to Luo Hao’s underhanded move against Fang Yi.
Luo Hao, his wound exposed, was finally enraged, and yelled, "Security! Call the security up here!"
Someone immediately took action, phoning the guards to come upstairs.
At that moment, Lin Shang moved. He took a few large strides over to Luo Hao, grabbed his collar, and slapped him hard across the face. The sound of the slap was incredibly loud.
Lin Shang sneered, "You call for security? I’ll beat you up first! Even if you bring in the Emperor of Heaven, it will be useless!" After that, he slapped Luo Hao’s face several more times.
Luo Hao was hit until he was bloody and bruised. Having killed so many, Lin Shang, who was now an Extraordinary Level Assassin, found dealing with Luo Hao as easy as handling a small chicken.
Just as Luo Hao wanted to continue, he was stopped by Fang Yi. It wasn’t that Fang Yi was being kind, or that he felt pity for Luo Hao, but rather he was afraid Lin Shang might give Luo Hao a concussion.
"Luo Hao, eh? I’m telling you, if you dare to bully my brother, I’ll kill you," Lin Shang said as harshly as someone from Business Alliance, but the fact that he had just slapped Luo Hao gave his words a great deal of deterrence.
Luo Hao was thrown to the ground with a thud, crying out in pain. Just then, the crowd parted, and a middle-aged man rushed out. Seeing his son in such a terrible state, Luo Mingyuan was overcome with rage and nearly passed out.
"Fang Yi!" Luo Mingyuan bellowed with a hoarse voice.
"What’s the matter?" Fang Yi stood with his arms crossed in front of his chest, exuding an air of casual indolence.
"You’re courting death!" Luo Mingyuan’s beard bristled, his fury erupting like a crown of flames.
Fang Yi chuckled.
Lin Shang stepped forward and said, "I was the one who hit your son. There’s a direct cause for grievances, and if you’re capable, come after me."
Luo Mingyuan stared fiercely at Lin Shang, grinding his teeth as he said, "You’re in cahoots with him, none of you will get away!"
But Lin Shang just laughed and said, "Oh really, I want to see how I won’t be able to run away."
Soon, someone arrived, not security guards but a guard, and to Fang Yi’s surprise, it was Li Xue. Even more surprising was that apart from Li Xue, there was another woman.
Cai Qin!
Dressed in a black, form-fitting outfit, Cai Qin looked capable and spirited, her presence commanding. When she saw Lin Shang beside Fang Yi, her eyebrows lifted and a vaguely malicious smile formed on her lips.
"Hey, old geezer, you were the one who called the cops, right?" Li Xue said to Luo Mingyuan, not mincing her words.
Luo Mingyuan’s nerves were set on edge, and he retorted angrily, "Do I look like an old geezer to you?" He was only just over forty.
Unembarrassed, Li Xue said, "Oh, if you’re not an old geezer, that’s fine. So, tell me, why did you call the police?"
Immediately, Luo Mingyuan pointed at Fang Yi and Lin Shang, and said angrily, "They injured my son! Take them to the Guard Department right now!"
Li Xue just gave an "Oh" and then, hands on hips, eyed the two men and said, "Both of you, come with me!"
"Sure, sure," Lin Shang said, his face full of smiles.
"I’d be quite happy to take a trip to the Guard Department," Fang Yi said with a smile.
Their expressions clearly showed no worries.
Then the four of them left the place. Luo Mingyuan was holding his injured son when suddenly, he realized something.
Why was there only one guard? Was that girl really a guard? And why did those two seem utterly unworried?
However, Luo Mingyuan didn’t think too much about it. Saving his son was the priority, so he immediately had someone call an ambulance.
As they reached the bottom of the building, Fang Yi said with a light chuckle, "Miss Bai, should you not put handcuffs on the two of us?" He knew Li Xue liked this nickname.
Li Xue said, "Forget it. After all, you helped this lady crack a big case last time. I kind of like you, so I won’t cuff you."
Fang Yi asked, "So, do we still need to go to the Guard Department?"
Li Xue waved her hand dismissively and said, "Forget it, forget it. What’s our relationship? No need to go."
"Alright then, Miss Bai, my deepest thanks," Fang Yi said, bowing formally with his hands folded.
"Heroes never need thanks," Li Xue said with a righteous expression on her cute face, actually returning the salute with a similar gesture.
After that, Li Xue walked away with her head high and chest out, leaving with a sense of having accomplished something and keeping a low profile.
"Hey, where did you find such a guard? There’s quite the uniform appeal," Lin Shang said, poking Fang Yi in the arm.
"That, well, would take a bit of time to explain..." Fang Yi began, thoughtfully.
Just then, a voice interrupted them.
"The two of you can discuss your sordid affairs later," Cai Qin stepped forward.
Lin Shang’s eyes sparkled, and he nudged Fang Yi again, saying, "That older sister isn’t bad at all."
Fang Yi said, "You see, her first kiss..."
Cai Qin’s face changed, a frosty look appeared, and she exclaimed, "You wouldn’t dare!"
