Chapter 133: Chapter 92 Specialty and Job Requirements
"Bang."
The headless corpse of the Bear Goblin fell forward to the ground, producing a dull sound.
Xia Nan flicked away the blood from his sword.
He glanced at the dead body ahead, his face showing no extra expression.
This Bear Goblin brought far less pressure compared to the one that almost wiped out the "Stinky Fish and Shrimp" team before.
The reason was partly due to his own improvement in combat ability and experience.
On the other hand, it was because Frogon had already smashed one of its arms, greatly reducing its combat strength.
He was also supervising the battle from the side.
The high-pressure aura from the barbarian alone, enough to make ordinary goblins faint, further weakened the Bear Goblin by more than one level.
This allowed Xia Nan to appear much more at ease.
Which was just right.
An opponent of this mediocre level was also convenient for honing his battle skills.
After a real battle, it only took a few rounds.
He felt that the progress he made was much more than practicing against air for an entire day.
After the battle ended, naturally, the battlefield needed to be cleaned.
But goblin caves...
Let’s just say there wasn’t anything valuable.
Not to mention magic items with special effects, even ordinary equipment that could be sold to a grocery store or blacksmith shop to earn a little money was almost non-existent.
Including that rather large Green hideout from two days ago, all of Xia Nan’s loot amounted to only six shiny little stones of various sizes.
Not sure how much they could sell for.
And it was only now that he finally realized how lucky he was to have gotten a Green Equipment Ring [Dead Line] from a Bear Goblin as soon as he crossed over.
He’s not in a hurry to sheathe his sword.
Xia Nan held the hilt, resting the sword effortlessly on his shoulder.
In the corner of the cave ahead, Frogon stood motionless.
Suddenly, a cold wind emerged around his body.
An entirely transparent, phantom-like Winter Wolf gradually took shape amidst the whistling ice crystals.
With transparent claws lightly touching the ground, it drifted and roamed within the cave.
It seemed to be searching for something.
Found nothing.
A few seconds later, it returned to the barbarian’s side, affectionately rubbing its cold-emanating forehead against Frogon’s arm, before slowly dissipating.
Xia Nan also withdrew his gaze.
He had seen the same scene two days ago.
Though doubtful, he didn’t ask further.
After all, the other party was not specifically visiting River Valley Town because of a commission but was merely passing by to teach him battle skills.
He should be tracking something.
It had nothing to do with him, and the troubles involving the Transcendent level certainly weren’t something he could touch right now.
The cold dissipated, and the temperature in the cave gradually rose.
Xia Nan did not leave directly.
Instead, he patiently and meticulously finished off the many goblins lying on the ground, with his longsword in hand.
Though because of the rotting stench, forecasting that he would need to stay in the forest for many more days, he couldn’t bring these "spoils" back to exchange for bounties.
But having come here, it’s naturally impossible to let those Green bastards remain alive.
"Stab."
Without mercy, the sharp sword tip pierced the fragile skin of the throat.
The goblin’s twig-like skinny neck was instantly impaled.
Due to being mentally stunned and deeply comatose, even the intensely deadly pain only made these weak demons’ bodies tremble slightly, before quietly dying.
Xia Nan’s movements were very skillful.
One goblin per sword, taking only a few minutes to send nearly thirty goblins on the field to their end.
In his heart, however, he found it not very meaningful.
Not hearing the goblins’ miserable screams before death, nor seeing the panic and fear in their eyes towards death.
It felt like something was missing.
Butchering with no feedback was unsettling.
The strange feeling even made Xia Nan doubt if there was something wrong with his mentality.
"I also wonder if there’s such a profession as a psychologist in this world, if not, maybe visit a church when I return?"
The chaotic thoughts flashed through his mind.
He pulled out a cloth from his chest pocket and wiped the blood off the sword’s surface.
Intending to leave the cave, yet showing a slight reluctance on his face.
Over twenty goblins, plus a Bear Goblin.
Even without other loot, their bounty alone would be a decent income.
It’s a pity that under current conditions, he couldn’t bring them back, otherwise, his small treasury could go up a notch.
Speaking of which, if he was a bit thicker-skinned, maybe he could ask Frogon to help freeze these spoils, so he could take them back...
