Chapter 120: Chapter 85 Tussle_3

The tavern, well, these kinds of things happen several times every night, so we’re used to it already.

While watching the two people grappling, Xia Nan mused over the dwarf’s reference to the tall, thin man.

Many often say that when learning a language, besides simple greetings, the first things one learns are swear words.

Xia Nan had been resting in River Valley Town for so many days, listening to adventurers boast in the tavern every night.

If you ask whether he’s learned any secrets, the answer would be no.

But he’s picked up plenty of ugly gossip and filthy language.

"Sand rat" probably refers to Kalinshan people living long-term in the desert, being as cunning as rats when doing business;

"Wind servant" is because the Kalinshan region was once ruled by the Wind Giant Spirit, mocking their ancestors as servants of element creatures.

"Kalin Worm," he didn’t quite understand, not knowing if there’s any story behind it or if it’s just a simple insulting term.

The two people grappling were one tall and thin, the other short and stout.

The former took advantage of his height and reach, landing a kick and two slaps before the red-bearded Dwarf could even touch him;

while the latter, being solid and muscular with a steady lower body, red-faced with rage from the slurs, endured the Kalinshan man’s punches and kicks, managing to topple him by sheer momentum.

No one intervened in the fight.

The tavern patrons gathered around, forming a circle centered on their battlefield, shouting and causing a commotion.

"Yeah, hit him in the face, beat the date mouth to death!"

"Isn’t it said that he’s got a stone belly, why are you hitting there, do you even know how to fight?"

"Hahaha, they’re biting now, they’re biting now."

Some enterprising spectators even started taking bets among the crowd.

Even Chapton, the usually affable tavern owner, didn’t stop them.

He just stood with his hands on his hips, looking at the scattered tables and chairs on the ground, helplessly to the side.

Meanwhile, he pondered whether to charge double or triple the compensation later.

Xia Nan was watching with great interest, unknowingly eating a few more bites of his dinner.

The temperature was gradually rising.

Initially, the two were somewhat restrained, though cursing and scuffling, it was just hand-to-hand combat—no Battle Skills or such were used.

But as others egged them on, and with the dwarf’s stream of extremely insulting words,

the tall, thin Kalinshan man, after taking another heavy punch to the face, finally lost it completely.

Suddenly standing up.

Swish—

He swiftly pulled out a cold, gleaming scimitar from his waist, his bruised and battered face revealing an unstable expression.

The dwarf, having a fiery temper, was in no mood to back down with things having escalated this far.

"Pah!"

He spat a mouthful of bloody phlegm onto the floor beside him, clutching his heavy Forging Hammer in his right hand.

He took a deep breath.

His body instantly swelled two sizes, his skin taking on a metallic sheen.

And just as the two stood in tense confrontation, ready to clash at any moment,

"Creak."

The tightly closed door was abruptly pushed open.

Whoosh—

Even though it was the height of summer’s heat, everyone in the tavern felt a bone-chilling wind rushing in from outside.

A silent, towering figure, almost filling the entire doorway, walked in slowly.

His hair, slightly bluish and green, stood up like steel needles against his scalp; his well-defined, deep features resembled an ice sculpture chiseled by the north wind, casting shadows from his prominent brow over his ice-blue eyes, which looked as if they were tempered in a cold pool.

It seemed as though he carried an invisible weight of pressure, instantly quieting down the previously rowdy tavern.

The only sound left was the faint clinking of the Bone Tooth Necklace around his neck.

Xia Nan immediately lowered his head, quickly swallowing a few more mouthfuls of mushroom soup, focusing intently on his meal.

On the floor, the two previously facing off against each other simultaneously lowered their weapons.

As if all their previous courage and fury had been swallowed by the skin-piercing chill.

Without a word, they helped each other pick up the toppled tables and chairs, sitting back in their original places.

As if everything that had just happened was merely an illusion.

Chapton stood behind the bar, forcing a businesslike stiff smile, cautiously greeting:

"Welcome to the White Sparrow Tavern, guest, what would you like to eat?"

The imposing and cold barbarian remained silent, not replying.

His ice-blue eyes shifted slightly, scanning over the tavern.

They settled on a particular corner.

His sturdy legs moved, the frost-white fur of his wolfskin cloak swayed lightly.

The shadow cast by his towering figure under the lamplight loomed over the dark-haired youth who was focused on his meal.

"Are you, Xia Nan?"
