Chapter 211: Chapter 212: The Crime of Treasuring a Jade, Lin Yue Being Sniped

In the shadow behind a small hill about four kilometers northwest from Lin Yue’s shelter.

The door of the underground shelter was open outward, venting the foul air from inside.

Descending along the wooden stairs, seven individuals dressed differently were resting in their most comfortable positions.

"Qi Tian, do you think we should follow up with Levik and the others when they arrive and grab some benefits?"

A man as skinny as a monkey sat by the stairs, took a stick from his Storage Space, placed it next to his teeth, and bit it, the bitter taste filling his mouth, which he somehow enjoyed.

He looked at the bald man next to him and found he was doing the same, only there were two sticks in his mouth.

Qi Tian glanced at him and snorted coldly, "Da Mao, what the hell are you thinking? We’re just scouts, fighting has nothing to do with us. Levik’s main force is off to trouble Lin Yue; we’re here to cheer them on from afar when the main force arrives, don’t get involved."

Wang Ce, who was not talkative, nodded as well.

"Qi Tian’s right, let’s not get too involved, tempted by that? Be careful you don’t run to the front and end up as cannon fodder. Lin Yue is the world number one, after all, with weapons and a big dinosaur by his side, not easy to deal with," said Old Four, tapping on the wooden board under him before lying flat on the floor and letting out a comfortable sound.

"For someone who can take down giant creatures, I think if Levik and the others want to take him on hard, it’ll cost them a lot. Old Four, honestly, why did we come? I have a bad feeling about this, feels too dangerous," Guo Wei said, frowning, leaning against the wall, thinking of his wife and children back at the Refugee Village, his heart thumping with a bad premonition making him uneasy.

Old Four and Qi Tian said nothing, exchanged glances, and saw something in each other’s eyes.

Confusion, unease.

Even, a hint of fear.

When they first arrived, they were high-spirited, impulsively thinking that this journey with Levik leading a large force of over four hundred people could easily capture Lin Yue’s "castle."

But after observing the terrifying carcass of the giant creature, the double-layered walls in the distance, and the huge shelter inside, they calmed down immediately.

In the intelligence they had, Lin Yue commanded a group of obedient mutant creatures called "Ice Lizards," had an Alloy Tactical Crossbow and an M19 Pistol, and was accompanied by a three-meter-tall white dinosaur-like mutant creature.

This world-ranked top Survivor was different from other Survivors, a "lone wolf" surviving in this Otherworld alone, a "legend."

But this "legend," while garnering a lot of attention, was also coveted by dozens of Refugee Villages led by Levik.

With groups now able to chat privately at will, these dozens of Refugee Villages quickly reached a consensus that day the floods receded, with each shelter sending a few people to gather at agreed locations on each other’s area maps.

Their aim, naturally, was Lin Yue’s shelter and the mountain-like huge resources that might be inside!

Food, water, vegetables, fruit, and the wine and whiskey everyone desires... Lin Yue possesses too many resources people want!

Also trying to survive hard in the Otherworld, why does Lin Yue get to live so well, why?

He can drink wine and whiskey, even trade these things, while we can only drink water, where even that’s a luxury?

He can eat fruits, watermelons, and even trade those for scrap metals, while we have to go to great lengths to find scrap cams or such to trade, why?

The Survivors’ envy of Lin Yue turned to jealousy, even to "hate," naturally leading to finding like-minded people and forming a network among themselves.

Among the four hundred people gathered, some brought their entire refugee villages, some snuck out without their leaders’ consent, and some were wandering Survivors—all rallied under the leadership of the Survivor named "Levik," quickly gathering on the Desert.

Qi Tian and Old Four, along with their group of seven, are scouts among them, with their shelter not far from Lin Yue’s, sent to scout under Levik’s orders.

Levik did not force them to fight—he did not force anyone like that, but everyone knew combat was how you get resources, simple scouting was not.

Though Levik assured them they would gain some resources even without fighting, the seven were itchy, even contemplating ambushing Lin Yue on their own.

However, after seeing Lin Yue’s shelter and the huge skeleton firsthand, among them, four had already decided not to follow even when Levik’s main force arrived, and amongst the remaining three, Da Mao was hesitating, while Leslie and Jorgensen, who couldn’t speak their language, seemed quite interested in attacking Lin Yue’s shelter.

"How long do we have to stay here?" Da Mao mumbled as he walked to the shelter entrance. It was as usual outside. He picked up the Telescope and looked at the distant gray-white walls again, sneering.

Nothing over there seemed to move, nor was there any sound for ages.

How much food, water is in that huge shelter? How much fruit and wine? Not hearing anything, could Lin Yue have left?

According to previous intel, Lin Yue seemed to like exploring the Secret Realm and Underground Ruins, as he even conquered the Underground Ruins Zone F.

Might the shelter be empty?

Da Mao’s mind was restless; he licked his dry lips, went to the entrance, and looked at Leslie and Jorgensen polishing their knives, lowering his head and summoning his System Space.

"You two, those four have backed off, what’s your take? Want to get closer to Lin Yue’s shelter?"

After sending the message, he looked at Daqi and his group, who were huddled together, whispering something.

"Xiao, you want to check it out before Levik arrives? I’d advise against it. I reckon we couldn’t even handle those little Bai lizards."

"That’s right, Xiao, I get your point, those cowards let them cry when the time comes, but I think we should wait till Levik’s main force arrives to attack, then charge forward and show Lin Yue what we’re made of!"

Seeing the message, Da Mao sighed.

He was itching with anticipation, even with Lin Yue’s shelter being within sight. Earlier, all six were acting as if Lin Yue was nothing, why is everyone so scared now?

"They’re all damn cowards!" He spat again, heading out the door for a piss, suddenly feeling a gust of wind.

In the next second, he suddenly felt a chill on his neck, and then his view shifted to the ground, then bounced to the stairs, and began to spin wildly, finally resting on the basement floor.

The neck of his body spewed a large amount of blood, toppling over to the ground!

"Da, Da Mao! His head, how, how come..."
