Global Lord: My Undead Can Undergo Fission
Chapter 88: Finally Meeting

Chapter 88: Chapter 88: Finally Meeting

At the battlefront, the fighting abruptly stopped, and the Undead froze in an instant.

The next moment, all the Undead Creatures began walking toward the tunnel below, and before long, they were emerging from it.

"Alright, negotiations have been reached. Now, everyone retreat five hundred meters and just leave a few sentries," came the command from above, and the army began to withdraw.

"Report, in the previous battle, we lost 2,198 units of troops."

Li Mingshu was speechless because not many had died directly under the enemy’s attack; most were those who had frozen and then clumsily fell to their deaths, which was really unfortunate.

However, that was because of the distance; if they were closer, the Arrow’s lethality would continually increase.

Delaying further, their losses would probably not be so minor.

"Alright, alright, negotiations have temporarily concluded. Divert half the troops to the north, the Trolls there have been restless lately, becoming increasingly troublesome," Li Mingshu directly told his subordinates.

"But what about our side, in case..."

"There are no ’in case,’ I believe Comrade Fang Jie is quite disciplined, otherwise he wouldn’t have such a good reputation in the trading area." Because of the trading area’s reputation, Li Mingshu chose to take a gamble.

Besides, even if on guard, what could it do if the opponents decided to do something? He was utterly powerless to resist.

Below, though the Undead Army had retreated, the group of Skeleton Labors soon arrived and began quickly repairing the road and building barriers.

Though the military saw the actions of the Skeleton Labors, nobody interfered or attacked.

After all, the agreement had been reached, and continuing the attack would mean breaking the truce.

Everyone simply watched the Skeleton Labors work. Since there were no obstructions, the third segment of the road was entirely built in just one hour, making any future attacks much easier.

After a while, the second segment of the road was also completed. The first section, though the flattest, was also the longest, so it took longer to repair. It took over five hours to finally complete this segment.

"What diligent and exceptional workers, how long would it take to build such a road back on Earth?"

"I don’t know, at least a few years, I guess, and it would be expensive," the Chief of Staff remarked as he looked at the road.

"But, we wouldn’t need so many people to build a road, and none would be as fearless of death and tireless as these Skeletons."

This is the difference between Undead and Humans; even with engineering machinery, humans can hardly compare in this aspect.

"Look quick, something’s coming up." When everyone saw the road construction was finished, they noticed a group of Skeletons starting to ascend, walking slowly and not in an attack formation.

"It seems this is a ceremonial squad, or perhaps a Guard Team, quite a grand display, all of Black Iron rank."

Even they were envious; their Black Iron ranks were still few, and those were elites, not to mention not used as guards. And even if used, they couldn’t spare so many right now.

Suddenly, guards of Black Iron rank numbered in the thousands. Skeleton Warriors and Skeleton Cavalry formed a regimented team, and their assault power would be unquestionably strong.

Another day later, they saw a new team coming up.

"No way, it’s a Bronze-rank team, and there are already so many, how did they do it?"

The military was shocked, mainly because such a team’s charge would be tough to withstand, and they, despite their numbers, would suffer severe losses. By then, the loss wouldn’t just be troops, but their lives as well.

"It’s our turn to emerge," said Fang Jie, who didn’t want to waste too much time.

The team mobilized, they were also about to go up, but not by the road; instead, they would directly ride the Mechanical Flying Eagles over. For negotiations, first show their hand, which would make things easier later.

"After the negotiations, we’ll establish a Fortress here, maybe even a town. Then we’ll set up a market here, and have someone manage it, what do you think?"

"A good suggestion, but we must choose carefully who we send here; we can’t afford any mistakes."

"I’ll leave that to you as I’m not great at selecting people."

"Alright, then I’ll choose the people. If you find anyone unsuitable, feel free to replace them," Qin Lan said with a twinkle in her eye, her importance evidently growing, but Qin Lan had no intentions of overstepping.

The two rode the Mechanical Flying Eagle directly up to the highland. By now, the Guard Team had deployed and was securing the perimeter.

"Welcome, welcome, I’ve long admired you, and today we finally meet."

Li Mingshu, in full military attire, walked at the forefront, clearly the leader of this group.

Fang Jie stepped down, "Not at all, not at all. You are the soldiers who’ve always protected civilians like us. I’ve always greatly admired the military. Had I known you were here, I wouldn’t have dared to act rashly."

The two exchanged compliments, also gauging each other’s stance.

Since both had shown goodwill, everyone felt more at ease about the upcoming negotiations.

"It’s getting late, how about we rest today and start discussing specifics tomorrow?"

Fang Jie nodded, "That would be good, you don’t mind if we take a look around, do you?"

"Of course not, though there’s not much to see here." This was a
